Support for crown crates?

Seeing all this money wasted just makes me sad. The mounts do look epic, but putting them behind an rng wall that costs so much money with a very low chance is one of the biggest scams ever.

I didn't buy crown crates yet, but I saw some videos on youtube of openings and I see how many people were disappointing and just threw so much money away.
Even if you have too much money to spend, there are other more useful ways to spend it other than supporting this massive scam.

Even if there was 100% chance to get a mount every 15 boxes it would still be the equivalent of 40$ for a mount which is the price of many brand new games.

Supporting things like that only encourages them to scam you more.

    I already bought 8 crates... I really wanted one of those awesome mounts - I think I've been quite lucky in the end getting a “golden“ reward (the Wild Hunt exclusive black lynx pet that I'll never use because I dislike in game pets) and some other stuff (the imp pet and some things for the character editor). I am tempted to buy more crates because... those mounts... but I won't.

    If you don't support crown crates , you can also add " PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates ! " in you signature settings .

    I bought 10 crown crates when they came out, got a red fox/atro mount and that was it, now I have a different mount for every character. Don't need anything else, only way id buy crown crates is if dro-mathra mount became available again

    I don't agree with them, but I will buy them whilst they have items I want in and won't give another player grief for doing the same.

    We all know these are rip-offs and suck for the consumer, but there items people want in them and I doubt there is going to be enough people excluding themselves from these to convince ZOS not to continue them.

    They know our issues, they know it's a scummy move and they don't care.

    What bothers me more about the crown crates is that you can't get those mounts anywhere else.
    That sucks, because I can't afford to throw more money at the game, but I'd love them.
    I'd buy a crown crate if it gave us a drop for a slaughterfish we could ride in the water in PVE tho. :wink: Haha

    I dont think you people know what a scam is... This is all on pts and You can test the rng. They let you try it. The cost of the items gives insight into rarity. Argue for scummy? Maybe, but I'd disagree.

    There are two ways I can't help but look at them. On the one hand, it is a blatant under-handed, dis-honest, strategy for extracting the most amount of cash possible anyone who is inclined feel the need to collect these skins and what not.

    On the other hand, judging by the amount of apex rewards I see around on only day 3 of the crates being released that I know they won't be shutting down the servers this decade as they are making a fortune from these alone.

    So indifferent I guess is how I feel, in a purely selfish manner that is.

    Oh they are making enough money to keep their servers going for a long time without crown crates, trust me

    Yes, because posting don't buy crown crates is going to stop people from buying crown crates. Just don't buy them yourself because your imput is not going to make a difference.

    ESO has their policy and I have mine. In the case of crown crates, our policies do not coincide. I do not buy 'mystery boxes' - period. 'Tis a shame because there are some 'crown crate only' items I would be happy to buy for a fair price straight up in the crown store. Indeed, I have a sub to ESO+ and own many costumes and other crown store items. I don't mind spending some crowns but only if I know exactly what I'm buying.

    That is just me though. I assume other folks are wise enough to make their own decisions about how they want to roll.

    This isn't even as bad as another game I play -- basically, imagine the same system, but the rng is 3x worse. For example, I spent $400 trying to get a specific character (Which was the equivalent of a purple reward in ESOs system, not a gold) and didn't even get the purple. They also don't have the token system that ESO does.

    I got Senchie on 41 crate, have not gotten 2nd mount but enough gems to purchase 2nd.

    Thats not very good advice, even if I have money I shouldnt spend it om drugs and prostitues just cause its my money, yes I'm free to do what I want, but if it harms me and the society then I should consider people's advice on not doing them

    I have ESO+ and would be willing to buy plenty of stuff if I could choose what I'm purchasing. The problem is that crates are too much of a gamble and it sucks that we can't access those items any other way. I'm not gonna spend money to end up with stuff I don't like or want.
