Yet everyone keeps saying how we dont need any more NA servers. Really?
So let me get this straight. They are doing maintenance on the maintenance they did earlier?
Nope. Not at all.
Maintenance, as clearly advertised is on Mar 6 for PC/Mac NA-EU.
So this is obviously the second attempt at the fix to the pre-maintenance before the maintenance they did earlier.
If this one doesn't take, we're going to have someone post a flow chart. Big arrows and catchy fonts and everything.....

At this time, we're expecting everything to take a couple hours. We'll do our best to keep you updated as maintenance progresses.

(FYI, it's easy to swap to EU. Used to be a whole thing, now just a simple click on the launcher.)
I expect 24 hours of extra double AP time, no more, no less.

It seems 95% of ESO forum posters have no idea what a DDoS is. They just keep assuming it's server hardware, and it's cute.

But whoever at Zenny is responsible for the servers/hardware together with the current 'settings', e.g no CP test etc, need to take more accountability.... Whoever you are, come out of hiding and do your job plz

As, you can see none of these geezers knows anything about games more complicated than monopoly.
@ZOS_MattFiror maybe if your company cared more about delivering a quality product than milking every dollar out of us. The game would run alot smoother.
I disagree with the age thing. Im 54 and have played and programmed games since before there were hard drives. But you're spot on about quality vs the bottom line. Too many companies figure that if they arent making uber profits, it's a fail and forget that a business runs a 2% margin for profits is successful.

Where is this simple click on the launcher?

The speed of light is finite and measured. Network signals, like anything electrical, travel at the speed of light. Therefore if NA players were forced to play on EU servers, there would be latency similar to what occurs when people attempt to play games over a satellite connection. Put simply, it would not work. So for as long as we have an internet, all major online releases will require separate servers for Europe and North America. So nut up and wait.

Thank you Gina, any info is much appreciated.
Do you think I will be able to log on after this second maintenance is done? Some of us haven't been able to connect to the server for 7+ hours with the only response being that it is due to too many people trying to log in at once - I was talking to friends on Steam chat who were happily logging in and out of the game during that time, yet there was no acknowledgement of the problem some of us were having connecting to the server other than to say to wait a bit - but then still couldn't log in after several hours, and no new info or just saying "we're aware of the problem".
So yeah, any info, any news, even if it is bad news, is better than nothing. Sorry that you are having to do this on a weekend.

Where is this simple click on the launcher?
To clarify, it's on the screen where you log in to your basic account, not the actual little launcher:
PLAY
SERVER
SETTINGS
CREDITS
QUIT
Click on server, then select EU.
