Share house ownership?

    2) If your allowing a person to co-own there has to be some sort of trust between you and this other player as you are allowing them to modify your home. Maybe put the responsibility on the players to relieve Bethseda of this issue. Maybe a simple disclaimer like you said."You are about to place your items in another player's home. Items placed here can be lost if the owner sells or destroys the property" That way bethseda can avoid the QQ if this issue arises.

This. At some point, responsibility has to be on the player. It's no different than the current ranking in the guild system. You trust someone to be an "officer" and have access to the bank/adding players/etc. The onus is on the permission giver to realize they could be giving that power to someone who might turn around and do damage. That is not ZOS' problem.

I've said it in every thread about home sharing. There has got to be a way to add tiers to the housing permissions, be it co-owner, pledge partner, whatever. And when you set those permissions there is a big pop up box - like when you try to fence a high value item - with a warning like @koralr33fer mentions. And if someone cries - too bad. Limiting the game or a feature that it seems a lot of people want in order to avoid ruffling the feathers of the squeaky wheel crybabies is silly.

@Surgee one of the posts your quoted from @NewBlacksmurf was of him mostly explaining that Zos has already provided information concerning this topic. This information is from multiple Zos sources here on the website including PTS forum.

Zos has a tendency to not repeat themselves many times. It's why some think Zos never replies or comments in posts when in reality they already did somewhere else. So I'd suggest looking for the information instead of a accusing smurf of providing incorrect information.

Dude you guys are leaving essay long answers like it's necessary lol

Its simple, it would make them less money .

Boom a good reason for them to not allow it lol

I think it would actually make them more money.
Many of my friends completely stopped caring about homestead or focused on getting furniture from other sources than crown store, because they can be traded and placed. My wife would spend money like crazy to furnish our house, but instead, only I can do it (as I'm the owner of the house) so she doesn't even visit anymore =P.

Selling more homes even if they are good sales would more likely increase revenue since more homes would mean more decos being sold. Zos thinks big.

I don't think a lot of people buy separate homes just because they can't spend crowns on the home of a friend/partner. If someone planned to own a house by himself, he probably is doing it right now. If someone planned to share a house, they still share it, but craft furniture instead of using crown store (which in result, lowers the sales).

You can't even let a spouse be a primary resident. What gives ZOS?

Ya the whole community from what I've been reading has been really disappointed with this, hard to turn a house into a home with you're pledged friend or better half while all they can do is relocate your goods for you...hopefully this homestead update will be improved upon in the near future. It'd be nice to build a house into a home together. Not just have your girlfriend sit there idly while you decorate :(

Did ZOS post info on the account bound and Xbox account stuff that blacksmurf was talking about or was it about possible updates to homestead addition? I'm not really finding any information on whether or not they plan to expand this part of the game other than possible new homes being added. I dont really see myself buying these big mansions with the way this system is currently set up.

If anyone can send a source link to any kind of confirmation that would be great, so we can close this debate once and for all. All I know is that ZOS said they will expand on the homestead and what we got right now is merely the beginning. To me it sounds like they're open to suggestions.

First understand that the Xbox one gamertag is all that's needed to play. That ZOS account which I refer to as a PC game account, even without buying the PC version isn't required as mentioned here. https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/300682/xbox-one-need-help-figuring-out-my-eso-plus-account

This is the most important concept because you all are asking ZOS to change what is account bound and ZOS cannot do this as is unless they remove real money which has to stay account bound for consoles.

Part 2 is that real money can't be shared on an Xbox profile. That profile holds the link to the ZOS game file. If you don't understand the Xbox profile real money limitations, there are support topics here: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/browse/xbox-one/xbox-live/Store and purchases

In short....you can't share funds, you can only give family members a credit buy buying which isn't sharing.

Additionally, any dlc is account bound.

So because ZOS has decided to make all this stuff open to real money which is unlocked via crowns, the house ideas you have would need to exclude any and all crown only items.

More ZOS info on accounts here which discusses an account update but pay attn to who can and can't play and which platforms are impacted and how

    Link- https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/314753/billing-account-management-system-maintenance-jan-18

In short, there's a real hurdle. There are older ZOS comments if you search account linking or console account transfers

In short....ZOS and Xbox accounts differ and the game accounts are for one to play on which is the Xbox one profile. The ZOS account is merely access to support but only support refers ppl to Xbox for purchase issues and crowns unless we push back hard.

Smurf, once more you're repeating the info that is irrelevant. No one is talking about sharing money or in-game crowns. It was already said many times over, that obviously you and I have a different understanding of how it works, and I do not plan to argue again about who is right and who is not, as a lot of info contradicts itself. I encourage you however, to post a source link that speaks about THIS EXACT ISSUE DIRECTLY - placing items in a co-owned house without changing bindings in any way, as per first post. Let's not talk about account backend as I also am able to post 100000000000000 facts on how it works and how it is possible, but it won't lead anywhere. Thanks!

Zos hasn't provided indication of anything they may or may not bring to housing other than overly generic non commital comments such as not bringing storage to housing at this time.

No. Crown store furniture is bound to your account so you can only drop it in a house you own and vice versa, if you own the home and a guildie buys crown item - no joy. I feel that pain.

    @koralr33fer

You'd want to go to the PTS forums and look at the official feedback threads for housing only. There are two main threads where feedback was given to ZOS and in contextto the whole "account" set up, they haven't shown any interest in unlinking account access.

On ESO Live two different episodes, their comments on housing also does not suggest any changes to the account parts.

Their interests in terms of what was written or commented on are open to:
    -more houses
-possibly changing the inventory or space limits of players and items placed in the homes
    -listening to feedback ongoing feedback.

Specific to the account situation as a whole....waaaaaay back around console release but after the closed console beta test they gave details on the PC to console account copy process.

Within this, the exact way it worked was copying the PC save file but not being able to copy things such as Guilds, friends, Mail, etc.

Another discussion on ESO live was in response to the console UI and a big topic on voice chat and their original decisions not to offer text chat.

In this they mention info on console requirements and what they suggested was social aspects that may become duplicated or what not cause characters don't message or mail individual characters on consoles, it's the gamertag instead (even tho we can now adjust he UI to show one or another, the gamertag is still involved)

All of this to say as Giles mentioned. In different interactions, theyve talked about and clarified that things are account "owned" so to speak and you can understand this in how prior to console release, mounts moved from a per character ownership to an account situation.

So let's think of houses as mounts.
-sharing a house in the current design seems unrealistic as it's account based
-inventory space or item placement would be like mount ownership as well

Sharing wouldn't be aligned with mount training but I feel that's where the change has to occur for it to allow flexibility. The question tho becomes, if it changes to being per character under one account does that remain limited still because that aligns with how guilds work.

That's how I comprehend it all and each path leads me back to the account and how all social and cosmetic things are account based today
