I wonder how many people will come in and say oh the lag is worse than ever in fear they will lose those CP points forever down the road and that edge they have along with it, kind of like having the crutch kicked out from under you.

You do know zos monitors the server performance they know when lag is happing on server side, they can't speak for others connections of low-end computers or video cards, that's not their problem.

I have heard from large groups of friends last night that the server performance was much better, guess it depends on where your at.

    Xbox NA in Wichita, KS.

Haderus stays full on weekends with 100+ queues. Server pop stays full for all three alliances. All three zerg pretty hard(Bridge Farming, Chal battles etc)

That being said, I have never had lag this bad. The only upside was when I DC'd, I loaded straight back into Cyrodiil in the middle of a siege, right where I had DC'd from, that has never happened before. Usually it's an infinite loading screen & I call it a night.

Maybe it is because a lot more people are playing for the double AP creating more load of people instead of less CP ......

Nothing will be known until the weeks test results are provided to us .....

Hint, Hint ZOS ..... please let us know the test results and your findings .....

They will never provide the results.

However trying to figure out what is wrong in PvP and giving a free weekend is a stupid idea. Yes it gets more people playing, but if it overloads the servers it's going to be harder to tell if taking away the CP does any thing.

my lag changed, instead of having a constant reduced frame rate i would have moments where i would go 10 secconds without a refresh,

    my DC's did reduce drastically

however i was constantly health de-synched,
no one could resurrect me as it constantly showed as resurection pending,
forward camps did not appear on my map

but while no cp was more fun than i expected, i dont know if its the cure all that was anticipated!

Thats why ZoS will use its data and not peoples opinion. Many of them (mostly from less occupied campaigns) will experience more lag. Many will experience less lag, because they already expect less lag (placebo). Many will complain even without noticable change because they dont want to lose CP.
... and everybody will spam destro ult and sieges to farm those kill assist APs

I only played a tiny bit yesterday in Cyrodiil (tried farming impen selene's and failed :/ ) but I did NOT notice much lag... there were a good amount of players on but not the most I've seen by any measure. This was in Haderus. Will follow up later this week.

Im noticing a trend with all these threads its all consoles

Its not any hard data, but my experience on Ps4 pro is: no lag (skills function the moment i use them), but fps drops down to 15-20 fps in large battles.

So my conclusion so far (personal based): it does reduce lag, but consoles cant handle large battles (fps). Maybe it has to do something with the Server, but it feels more like a Hardware issue

I think many people make the assumption : Bad fps = lag, for me these are 2 different, but maybe the fps is Bad cuz of lag, I dont know about such things.

There are frame lags AND connection lags. Sometime the game disconnects in huge battles but lags (resulting into skill delays, e.g. your skill activates 3, 4 seconds later than you pressed the button) are also occurring when I am playing solo (XBox). I recently got many disconnects when doing Dolmens, even when I am alone or only 2-3 people are there. So it's not only console power that causes problems, the ESO servers are just bad. Really bad.

None of the issues is PC or console exclusive. The problems occur on every platform and on every server.

How do you know :O You gather data on your own? D: I notice less lag on PC EU (not that it means anything).

Good thing there are hard data and no one looks on forums for people's "opinions" of technical issues, because we players usually talk gibberish lel. Some players think it's "way more lag" because FPS drops- in 50v50 zerg battle.

I gather(ed) data on my own, yes. I played on PC, PS4 and then switched to XOne. I had lags on every platform and on every server. And I am 100% sure that it's not my connection because I can play every other game without lags. It's pretty easy to come to this conclusion and everybody who states he / she never experienced any lags or issues is a) playing very early in the morning when only few players are only and the server load is not much or b) never played PvP. Nobody who ever was in Cyrodiil for more than 5 minutes and participated in huge sieges can tell me that they never experienced any lags, let it be frame or latency issues. Some of the problems are so present and even acknowledged by ZOS that everybody who's saying “I don't have any problems at all“ is lying or just spending a minimal time in ESO / Cyrodiil.

Please tell me your method of data gathering. Can you show us some hard data you collected? That would be great.
Look, there will always be FPS drop in 50v50 zergs battles, what ZOS is trying to find out about is the massive lagspike that affects the whole server even though you are in the middle of nowhere.

Got an infinite load screen while waiting for a 2 hour+ tick and was kicked out when I restarted the game, 80 queue to get back in. :D So I guess I'm not coming back to pvp any time soon

Lagging to the *** on PC NA TF. 380ms constant, slide show starts when pact roll in.

Better get back to resource and keep flag trading. Thanks for double xp.

If your slow ping is constant, then it is not indicative of server lag.

Lag from server slowdowns would manifest as lag spikes.

Showing a speed test doesn't indicate anything on your end except your connection to YOUR OWN ISP.

It's much more complex than that, unfortunately.

My ping to my own ISP is about 10ms, but I get about 60ms to ESO, even during huge battles on Azura's. There really isn't necessarily causation there.

Until they officially support multicore threading and possibly update to a faster more stable direct x there is only so far you can get.

You mean DirectX12? Which, by the way, is currently much worse than DX11. Almost every game running DX12 atm suffer from horrible bugs and performance problems. DX11 IS the most stable, at least for the time being, and ESO is exclusively DX11 for PC and Xbox (not quite sure what is it running on Mac and PS4, since they cancelled OpenGL support). They could support Vulkan, that currently is the most stable and gives the most performance increase, but that would require tons of changes to the game engine at which point I doubt ZoS would even go there unless there was no other way.

My method? Actually playing the game? Hard data? There are thousands and thousands of players that experience lag on EVERY platform / EVERY server. What do you want to tell me? I'm not even talking about frame lags, I don't really care for them anymore because ESOs engine is just bad. I care for the server lags that delay skills for several seconds.

Lag was terrible yesterday. Skills registering 3-4 seconds after pushing the appropriate button. And I DC'd twice in the middle of a zerg within 1 hour.

The few times I was caught in an unplayable lag spike the PVP was fun as *** without CP. Definitely notice the difference being a MagSorc. Getting hit like a truck by Stam builds and sustain not nearly as good without the CP but I could live with no CP in pvp honestly. Although I'm almost positive the terrible lag is NOT caused by CP but rather poor optimization and/or poor servers. Plus the overpopulation.

Less lag on PC with no CP. I can confirm that.
However there are moments when there are lag spikes.. and that moments tend to occur when destro ult spamming zerg is approaching. So.. I think that "lag" is generally caused by detro ult. There was for example some moments when 20+ group attacked, but they didn't spam detro utl. Ping was normal. When (even smaller group) appeared and started spamming desto ult ping went crazy 300 - 999...

Less lag on PC EU. (not that these 2 baseless statements of you and me will help)

Hmm,, when I got on after 130+ There was a ton of lag at Ash, with all sides fighting, I didn't know if my skills wear going out half the time

    Definately this^^^

Was helping to defend the main gate at Ash (PC/EU) and was acually quite comical with wrecking blow getting stuck on the backswing.

Even one of the enemy guards didn't seem to know what was going on,was just standing there not doing anything. ;)
