Stealing provides a MUCH higher return. For me it's one blue print per Room while thieving, however by normal means it's like almost non existent.

Go to banks, steal from them, the best bank Imo is the one in Vukhel (sp?) Guard.

    I get 1 - 2 blueprints per visit.

Give it a little time. Furniture blueprints have a drop rate that is similar to provisioning recipes. Right now, it feels low, but it won't be too long before you have more than you know what to do with.

Three weeks after PC release, I have 163 recipes. I needed to create an Excel spreadsheet just to track them all. (Though note that I've been deliberately farming them, so that's probably higher than most)

If you really want to buckle down and get blueprints, you can farm them pretty easily anywhere where there are a lot of containers... delves, crafting spots, cities, etc. One round around a fully upgraded Hollow City usually gets me 3 or 4, and the same for an hour of farming a good stealing route with my thief.

I agree this update could have been implemented better... no doubt about that. I'm of the strong belief that they should have released the new mats a month early, so people would have time to accumulate them, and I agree that what's available on the NPC vendors is abyssmal.

For now, I'd set Housing aside. Give it a month to mature while you go and do whatever you enjoy doing in this game... doing dungeons, questing, PvP, RP, whatever. Then, after a month, start shopping at the guild stores for recipes, mats, and furnishings; the market will have stabilized into decent prices by then. Check to see what recipes you've personally accumulated, and start using the mats you've gathered to make them.

I absolutely agree that the first week of this update was The Worst, capital T and W. But it gets better. Give the system time to age, and you start seeing the big picture that the devs were going for.

...though not having lightable fireplaces available without spending Crowns is still pretty BS. :p

I'm in the same boat. "Farmed" them a couple days, and before I knew it, had almost 300 unique recipes know, with over 90 duplicates.

ALL you need to do is run around a zone looting EVERY basket/bag/desk/dresser etc. Under the sun.

    "Enjoy!" :cold_sweat:

RNGsus is Loki in disguise. I'm getting blueprints. the problem is.. I seem to overwhelmingly get the blueprints of things I already know. so I cave and go guild vendor shopping - try to keep majority of my purchases to 2k or under per patterns (though I did pay 10k each for couple of blues i really wanted). the very next pattern I get from a cupboard I'm robbing? is the blueprint I just bought. its maddening. and when its not the pattern I just bought - its something I have already looted 3-4 times before. it makes me wonder if each character is set to predetermined set of patterns... to encourage trading between players or something like that.

at least you are getting mats, OP. I'm starting to think that heartwood is actively avoiding me. either that or I'm unknowingly following some *** who only loots heartwood, leaving ruby ash behind (I've actualy seen this happen a few times, know how I know? when you loot ruby ash... or rubedite.. or ancient silk.. and get like lvl 3 mats instead from it >_> )

When your hunting Blueprints, are you spreading out your efforts over the 3 alliances, or just within the zones of one of them? The Blueprints you get in AD will be different than DC and EP as they favor the base alliance races for each zone.

As for Mats, I have enough to make maybe 3 pieces of furniture, and I am a farming fool.

Personally i suspect a lot of people are farming blueprints right now, and just leave the containers with trash so they don't respawn. At least that is what it feels like to me when I find another nightstand with only a piece of obsidian left and no blueprints for hours, then go elsewhere and get three in one dwemer ruin...

But we shall see how it goes. At least in due time, we will find them all...

No.Containers and backpacks etc... are instanced, not shared. Although I have seen this problem with nodes and chests.

I don't think this is true. I'm almost certain that it isn't.

I have walked up behind someone immediately after they opened a container that always has 3 items and it had 2. The hidden panels will be cocked open if someone has opened them before you....a container that will have a crafting stone (corundum ect) + lockpick every single time will only have the lockpick after someone passes it.

I think they are only instanced in dungeons.

And I'm almost certain it is true that all containers are instanced except chests and nodes. A search of the forums confirms it. Here's a recent thread on it.

Some containers spawn with awful loot. Some containers spawn empty. If you go back to the same area to loot too soon, most of the containers will be empty because they haven't respawned from the last time you checked them.

If you doubt, get a friend and meet in the same instance. Open a container and tell one another what you see. Have one person take an item and see if it affects the other.

It sounds like you may be a bit of confirmation bias going on. Insidious fallacy, that.

I find all kinds of blueprints and also heartwood and the other mats drop fairly often for me. It's the master writs that are few and far between. True story: I harvested a rubidite node this morning, someone had beat me to it and left the regulus . Thank you may I have another?

As for Mats, I have enough to make maybe 3 pieces of furniture, and I am a farming fool.

I've been spreading my efforts across the alliances (and honestly, I can see no rhyme or reason to the drops after a while, since I often get dunmer stuff in reapers march, kajiit decos in stonefalls, argonian things in malabal Tor, and bosmer decos in glenumbra O_O), though lately, I just do a stealing run across Kvatch and Anvil, and a quick Hollow city as its easy and compact, and nets me nice treasures to vendor to feed my achievement vendor shopping habits (and in case of Coldharbour - no need to fence at all). got a few neutral kitchen things from that.

but yeah, mats are just... recipes are relatively easy. most greens especially are dropping down to 1k and under at guild vendors on pc at this point. its nice if I get some recipes, but nowadays its not what I'm genuinely short on. its the mats. the only thing that I have a lot of with not so much to craft with it - is decorative wax.

although I have to say... clean pelts for me are far worse then even heartwood. they are just needed for far fewer recipes that I like.
