Has anyone actually got a treasure map painting?

Okay, so the patch notes say that paintings may drop from treasure maps now. I've been using my treasure hunting/farming toon and haven't gotten a painting. Has anyone gotten one?
How bad is the RNG on this?

I don't know about treasure map chests, but when a friend and myself were doing normal dungeons, I unlocked a Master chest and a Simple chest and he had a painting in both of them -.-

Twenty or so maps followed, one painting found, that's the score for me. So far. I expect I just got lucky on that one though... time will tell.

I found a purple quality painting in a treasure chest I stumble across a few days ago. None since then and I open A LOT of treasure chest.

guyz, he is talking about treasure map chests, not a 'wild' treasure chest you stumle upon in the world while questing.

the patch today was supposedly going to adress that and make treasure map chests drop paintings.

I got Painting of a Crag Study, twice now - and I also got Painting of Lakes Sturdy

But that's out of about 100 chests opened lol

excuse my ignorance but what are these paintings for. i have like 35 treasure maps i'm too lazy to go arround trying to discover. im on ps4

@lagrue you were sitting on about 100 treasure maps? Even spread out across the inventories of multiple characters and the bank, how did you manage that?

only thing I can think of is mailing to friend and then having them mail it back to you, so that it sits in mail until you are ready to grab it. at least that's what I did with couple of my maps.

as to original question, no paintings so far, but I didn't use all my treasure maps yet. had to log out for adulting stuff. but then again, RNG generally tends to hate me (I'm getting like one heartwood per dozen wood logs. I wish I was exaggerating)

Good point. I should have thought of that, since I've sometimes done it between my different accounts.

26 zones, 6 to 8 maps each zone, Cyrodiil having like 15, that is 156 to 210 unique maps. It is conceivable to have 100 maps on one character. Now, with RNG being what it is, and I speak from experience, when you get over 50 to 60 maps, it's rare to get a unique one. I had a bit more than 60 saved up before One Tam for the Dropped Set items, and it was a bit of a shuffle to find mules to store them on.

Paintings in guild traders are,going for 20k or lower, 100 treasure maps would costs more.

According to Inventory Insight I have about 200 spaces free across all my characters, and that's with most of them only having the 1st bag upgrade and about 4 bank upgrades.

I like to keep my characters inventories empty of everything except their own equipment (and I don't use lots of different sets) and some consumables, so they're ready to go whenever I decide to play them. The one except is my crafter who holds about 1/3 of my materials (and will eventually hold most of them, once I get his bags upgraded).

But for the short term I could easily pick a couple of characters and fill their inventory with treasure maps.

On PC paintings are about 2k each, at least the ones I've seen. I don't think they were even 20k on the first day.

The large paintings were going for 75k ish the first couple of days....I still sell at least one a day at 10k. That seems to be where they have stabilized. Sounds like your market had a lot of undercutting going on.

The drop rate in non t-map chests from what i've been seeing is about 0.5% with the treasure hunter passive. (still trying to farm some decisive green pact daggers.. i do a few hundred chests at least of all levels a day.) If the drop rate from t-maps is the same, expect one every 200 chests you do or so, pretty much the same figure as drops of yellow tempers from refining mats.

Now, back on topic.
Can anyone please positively, absolutely, no doubt, yes i just did it, found one, confirm that they got a painting from a treasure MAP chest? You know, from a chest that you needed a hand painted MAP to find.
