Yup. To add, it is particularly useless to show houses you do not own.
I used that feature frequently when i was looking at houses to buy so... no not useless.
That's not the way it should work. Since they want you to buy these things, you should be going to it from the Crown Store. At best, it should only appear on the map after you have discovered it.
that presumes the usual conspiracy theory of all about crowns in spite of the numerous elements in homestead which make it very accessible with no crowns whatsoever.

Actually, no.
The most convenient way to access all of the houses, and travel to them, is via the interface in the Crown Store.

i have never needed to access **all** of the houses at a time so i will take you at your word that that is true for you and for some.
For me, when i needed to access some of the houses and make some general decisions about houses - it was more convenient to use the maps.
You see lordrichter, for me and perhaps for a few others but clearly not for lordrichter, location was the first primary cut for my housing choices.
on the crown screen you cannot see where the house is except for vague text about locale UNTIL YOU TRAVEL INTO IT (hello load screen waste of time.)
For me, and perhaps others, since i knew i wanted houses in certain areas, it was much more convenient to look at the maps, see where the houses were and then move on or decide to take a preview that way.
It meant i didn't have to preview hammerdeath for one and truly i only ended up paying loading screen time loss for a few i did not end up buying.
So, see, i did not need to ever access **all** of the houses because of the info the maps provided me without load screens that the crown option did not.
but i am sure its different for those who pick houses not based on location.

HideHousePreviews is what it's called. Hopefully it's provides what people are looking for! (And hopefully is available for download from ESOUI and Minion soon).

Maybe move it a just a bit?
...or even better, design a less obtrusive and smaller icon...to me at first, the house icon just looked like a blob, until i kept looking at it and looking at it, and finally saw the 3D representation of a house...we need a better icon, that's more indicative of a house, without covering up other icons...

Looks like it's been approved now! Please let me know if you run into any issues using it by commenting on it or sending me a message on the forums.
This has been a growing issue I've had. You need addons to fix or supplement what should be basic functionality. There are many things you SHOULD easily be able to do yet can't without an addon. Every 3 months most addons completely break, and you get to see which authors of your favorite addon have quit.anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »Wow... again, I'm impressed. A need arises with an update, and less than two weeks later, TWO add-ons authors have addressed it.
Thank you so much @nooblybear and @Ayantir .
And... @ZOS_RichLambert ... frankly... I understand why you wouldn't let us switch off crown crates or crown store announcements natively... but look at what the No, Thank You add-on does. Also look at Awesome Guild Store. These options, filters and features should be in the game natively.
Luckily, I didn't ever read the document that automatically puts all of the houses on your map, so the only houses that show on mine are the few that I own plus one that I accidentally entered while looting a village. But I remember the horror of a map filled with black house icons on PTS - and we asked repeatedly at that time for it to be fixed before it went live. Which makes me think they won't ever bother.
Sad for people on consoles. But thank you very much to the addon developers who have addressed this.
So, a note to console players - keep in mind that any house you preview will be added to your map, and all houses will be put there if you read the document that you get from Canthion after completing an apartment quest (I think that's where you get it? I can't remember but to be safe I just destroyed those without reading).
