The quest boss fights in this game are a piece of cake. Either you're new or you're spamming light bow attacks, hoping it will be enough.
Try the battle now. Since the boss requires going completelly through the Glenumbra quest line . Probably at least 30-40 quests . You probably have not even fought this battle in several years. Certainly not since 1T was released. When was the last time you fought Angof or have you ever fought him.
Just did it on a new toon 3 weeks ago with pickup gear...i think he dropped in 6 seconds5 -

I'M willing to bet he's right about you guys not having done any of these newbie boss fight in a long time. He could be right about them having changed since any of you have done them. And all you guys can do is rag on him. Player base seems to be getting more pathetic as the game gets more popular.
Thanks Catagere. I am not trying to troll or anything. I very much like the game and most of my threads up to this point have reflected that. I am just very frustrated with this battle and would like to get past it so I can proceed to the next area. I am new to the game although I did play it for a month when it was first released although I did not put a lot of hours into it. Maybe I should have kept my frustration to myself..But people when they get frustrated usually strike out at what is frustrating them.0 -

Your previous threads were probably not rage rants. I would suggest if you want feedback on how to accomplish something to approach it that way.
Every boss in the game can be cleared by anyone or any group in this game if they both find out how to manage the mechanics and work on their skill in general and skill in the fight, not saying all fights are easy. There are plenty of people that would be happy to offer good advice and some of them posted in this thread.2 -

Fyi OP i think the reason youre getting so much criticism is because of how you presented the topic. If you were to say:"Hey guys new player here and I cannot seem to get passed Angof in Glenumbra. Seems like Ive tried everything. Did any of you find difficulty in taking him down and if not, what is the method you would recommend using. Thanks in advance for any advice"
I guarantee if you put that, no one would call you bad. But instead you claim that the content is too hard and impossible, when clearly its not.6 -

Well usually in 6 seconds I fire off at least 6 abilities, so not in 1 hit:)7 -

I di dn't ask for help simply because the people that posted help where not even familiar with the fight. They where talking about a totally different boss.Like I said these guys probably have not even been on these quests in years.I probably know far more about the fight after doing it a dozen times than any of them.. Eventually I will get through it.

Again, I suggest you ask for help instead of criticizing. In case you did not notice @hedna123b14_ESO signature in his post his has builds for every class, stam and magika. If you look at each class section in Tamriel Foundry you will find most of his builds are on the first page meaning they have popularity. I look at his builds to see what his ideas are.2 -

The forums are really not a good place to vent. yea, you can vent but you will get negative reaction.

He did not say one hit. He said 6 seconds and followed up with your reply that it was about 6 hits.
I have seen the information he has posted and he seems very knowledgeable and accomplished in the game. Without meaning any offense to you, he can probably do 4x the damage in those 6 seconds than a new player can do in the same time.
It is part of learning the game.2 -

This from the guy who claims he killed the boss with 1 single hit with pickup equipment and a brand new character. There was nothing wrong with my initital post . I never said the fight was impossible. I described in exactly as I experienced it. Just more exaggeration on your part to make me look the bad guy and lessen everyone elses replies to me..of course. Just a thought; your problems that you're facing may be due to yourself rather than the way the game has been made
Try watching some guides on youtube of how to dps and survive and I'm sure you'll get past it sooner or later 0 -

Sorry but 6 seconds is 1 hit..Alright maybe 2..or maybe even 3 . Most skills take at least 2.5 seconds to cool off ( animation time). Not going to do it with a basic 1K weapon you would have as a pickup weapon even with 6 hits. I do 4 lethal shots ( 5k Damage) into him before I have to start running around and It gets him maybe down to 3/4...in about the first 10 seconds of the fight. So he has at least as much 3 0r 4 times HP as me 18K. Most likely more. ( 60k) So no I don't believe he killed him in 6 seconds with a new character and a weapon he picked up. Maybe you do but I don't.
Or maybe because of 1T that just makes the fight a cinch as he is probably only fighting a level 1 Angof. I am fighting a level 16 Angof. Thats a possibility but that does not help my situation.
Maybe if you guys would not have all ragged me in the first place ..my attitude would have been better. I was not asking for help in the first place I was complaining about the fight mechanics .I know how to win it. ANd not like Hedna suggest by hitting it several times with a basic weapon.in about 6 seconds. Its not a perfect game.Edited by dbgager on February 18, 2017 9:13PM0 -

Try the battle now. Since the boss requires going completelly through the Glenumbra quest line . Probably at least 30-40 quests . You probably have not even fought this battle in several years. Certainly not since 1T was released. When was the last time you fought Angof or have you ever fought him.

If you look at each class section in Tamriel Foundry you will find most of his builds are on the first page meaning they have popularity. I look at his builds to see what his ideas are.

Dude, nobody said one hit. And yes we do know the boss in question. In fact i too have done that questline on several toons and one as recently as last week on my lvl 15dragonknight. I think i had like first 2 skills unlocked on my class skill line and killed the boss with no problem at all.
After reading all of the responses on this thread it seems to me your problem might be your attitude, unvillingness to listen and reading things selectively ignoring facts you dont like.
P.s dont use lethal arrow. Your life will get easier if you dont.
Also self heals are useful skills. Unlock them. Use block feature. Dont stand in red. If you are color blind well then dont stand on the circles on the ground.
And i too would pay gold to see you stream vma.

This is me killing Angof about 15 minutes ago, naked on a level 12 character, with nothing but my sword, shield, food buff, and 200-something CP. I only needed to do like 5-6 quests to get there, not "at least 30-40", and as others have said, this boss is incredibly easy. Wearing any other gear at all and I would've been able to kill him quickly enough to bypass the mechanics altogether. As you should also be able to see in the video, you can get off far more than 1 attack in 6 seconds. In fact, not including DOT ticks, I got off 8 attacks in the first 6 seconds of the fight (medium attack, burning embers, choking talons, flame lash, flame lash, light attack, flame lash, flame lash, to be exact).
If you need help, ask for help and I'm sure others will be able to help you. But if you're going to come to the forums complaining about what is literally the easiest content in the game, and then try to argue about mechanics with people who are much more experienced than you (continually trying to argue that you can only get off 1-2 skills in 6 seconds, for instance), don't expect to get any sympathy.
That being said, if you'd like to post your build (gear and skills) I'd be more than happy to give you tips that'll not only help you get through this boss, but also help you become a better player in general. I'll even craft you some free gear if you need it.15 -

I am just very frustrated with this battle and would like to get past it so I can proceed to the next area. I am new to the game although I did play it for a month when it was first released although I did not put a lot of hours into it. Maybe I should have kept my frustration to myself..But people when they get frustrated usually strike out at what is frustrating them.

Sorry but 6 seconds is 1 hit..Alright maybe 2..or maybe even 3 . Most skills take at least 2.5 seconds to cool off ( animation time). Not going to do it with a basic 1K weapon you would have as a pickup weapon even with 6 hits. I do 4 lethal shots ( 5k Damage) into him before I have to start running around and It gets him maybe down to 3/4...in about the first 10 seconds of the fight. So he has at least as much 3 0r 4 times HP as me 18K. Most likely more. ( 60k) So no I don't believe he killed him in 6 seconds with a new character and a weapon he picked up. Maybe you do but I don't.
Or maybe because of 1T that just makes the fight a cinch as he is probably only fighting a level 1 Angof. I am fighting a level 16 Angof. Thats a possibility but that does not help my situation.

First, you have much to learn if you think a player can only land 1 hit to maybe at most 3 hits in 6 seconds. As he pointed out, he fought that boss 3 weeks ago, which was very much within 1T.
Second, you should have heeded my advice to cool off before continuing with this thread. For the one issue alone, misquoting someone repeatedly, you are finding others coming in and pointing out your fallacy. As you see others have come in to point out that you were wrong.
I did no rage in this thread, merely pointed out there are mechanics that are probably being missed. With light attack weaves, that number is more like 12 attacks in 6 seconds. Light attack->skill->bash and it'll be more like 18 attacks in 6 seconds.2 -
