Right, sure, if you want to get technical. Technically nothing has moved, because there is no order involved. The skill is a database entry with a bunch of fields. And it's the skill that's the baseline entity here, not the slot. Each Rank of a skill has its own ID. Previously the four Snipe skill ranks, with IDs 28882, 40890, 40891 and 40892, had the parameter learnedLevel=38. Now these four skills have the parameter learnedLevel=2. So technically, nothing was "moved". A value in the database was changed, and the system adjusted the XP to match the criteria for the new learnedLevel value.when you "move" a file from folder documents to folder windows, the data is not moved, the data is created in folder windows by replicating the data in folder documents. the data in folder documents is then deleted. that is how computers work. No, it was literally moved. Previously, as you say, Skill 23542 at level 38 was replaced with Skill 16941 at level 38. This time, Snipe, which is Skill 40892, was moved from level 38 to level 2. It wasn't deleted and recreated.that is also what happened with homestead. snipe wasnt moved to slot 1 of bow skill line, snipe was deleted from slot 5, and poison arrow was deleted from slot 1. then they created snipe in slot 1 and created poison arrow in slot 5.

Losing skill XP is crappy, I agree with you there, but it's not an immersion issue and you seem angry.
when they do this and you have to suddenly retrain a skill x # of characters you have, it is immersion breaking because you can no longer immerse yourself into the game due to worrying and wondering when the heck they gonna change the next skill and mess up its xp.

If worrying about future changes is going to break your immersion, I don't think MMOs are a great genre choice.
Note: I agree 100% that the way skill line XP was handled was sloppy and inconsiderate. But it's just not an "immersion breaking" consideration, especially in a game that fundamentally changes skill mechanics periodically and constantly adjusts various character-based things.
Or you could just consider the fact that you previously had to earn 16360 XP to morph the skill, but now the skill requires 21880 XP before you can morph it. In this respect, it's exactly the same as what happens when the level cap is increased. You have to earn the 5520 extra XP required to reach the new level cap, you don't get it for free just because you were already at the previous level cap.

you also miss the entire point. this is not about changes dude, i have said multiple times on this thread I DONT GIVE A CRAP IF THEY CHANGE A SKILL, DELETE SKILLS TO PUT NEW SKILLS IN, OR WHATNOT. i care about them taking xp away from me forcing me TO COMPLETE WORK THAT I HAD ALREADY DONE OVER AND OVER AGAIN. OVER AND OVER AGAIN I AM HAVING TO RELVL SKILLS THAT I ALREADY LVLED. HECK THEY EVEN DELETED QUEST COMPLETION I HAVE DONE ON 3 TOONS IN CRAGLORN. ALL I HAVE SEEN THE LAST YEAR IS BULLCRAP LIKE THIS. I DO THE QUESTS ON A TOON IN A AREA, THOSE QUESTS SHOULD STAY COMPLETED, IF I TRAIN A SKILL TO MORPH, THAT SKILL SHOULD STAY AT MORPH LVL. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO RELVL SKILLS, RECOMPLETE QUESTS IN AN AREA, AND ON TOP OF THAT, THEY SHOULD HAVE GIVEN THE 1 GOLD RESPECT WHEN THEY MADE THESE CHANGES AS I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SPEND 150K+ GOLD TO RESPECT WHEN THEY CHANGE SKILLS. THIS IS *** CUSTOMER CARE, HORRIBLE QUALITY, AND EVERYONE WHO IS DEFENDING THIS CRAP BUSINESS MODEL SHOULD GO WORK FOR WALMART, MCDONALDS, BE A SECRETARY FOR A BUSINESS, BE A NURSE, OR SOMETHING SIMILAR AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TREAT PEOPLE WITH THE POOR QUALITY THAT ZOS IS TREATING PEOPLE WITH THIS XP CRAP.

Perhaps it's a lesson in properly leveling your characters. Get your skills to morph and skill lines to 50 as you level and not an issue.
think you lost your marbles son, i had 8 toons each of them with every single skill that i am refering to, had those skills all to morph and each and every morph save 2 toons completely trained. so please do everyone a favor and dont comment on things you obvioiusly dont understand. please i am begging you before you *** me off, i can only take so much stupid in a day.
I never said I disagreed with you when you said you shouldn't have lost the morph. The morph should act as a flip-switch; if you've earned the morph (or the 'next level' in the level analogy), you shouldn't lose that progress if they move the goalposts after you've passed them. With the level analogy, even if they move the level cap up and also change the XP needed to get the level you're at, you shouldn't lose that level if you're now under the new required XP. Where I'm explaining how the system works, it doesn't mean I agree with it.or you can consider the fact that i already earned the xp to unlock the 5th bow skill, and same for every other skill, put a point into the skill, lvled that skill to morph range, lvled each morph to max rank. i dont *** care if poison arrow when it was in rank 1 slot only need x xp and snipe when it was in rank 5 slot needed y xp and now poison arrow in rank 5 needs y xp and snipe in slot 1 now needs x xp because that *** dont *** matter. i earned x xp in the rank 1 skill, i earned y xp in the rank 5 skill to get them to morph range, that means i already did the work, earned the xp to morph the *** rank 5 poison arrow skill to morph range. what about this is so complicated you cannot comprehend *** basic logic?Or you could just consider the fact that you previously had to earn 16360 XP to morph the skill, but now the skill requires 21880 XP before you can morph it. In this respect, it's exactly the same as what happens when the level cap is increased. Maybe I am missunderstanding the issue. They reordered the skills. If you didn't have the skill line far enough leveled, you might have had a skill you formally used that is now in accessible and needs releveled once you unlock it again. Am I misunderstanding the issue? If you had a skill line leveled to 50 and all the skills to morph, nothing would have changed.
So I am saying that if you had properly leveled, got the line to 50 and all skills to morph, you wouldnt have lost progress when they made the switch.
