Is this intentional? @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

If you buy the imperial bundles, etc you can sell them on guild traders. This means you can launder your crowns directly for gold now. If this is intentional?

Nope. Patch Notes say that it is supposed to be bound.

Because it opens the door for a lot less nice things if this was intentional.

Nope- Crown items bind the minute they pop into your inventory after purchase. At least that was my experience last night.

Yeah it's not like you can buy mimic stones and make the frost caster and Grim Harlequin to decon and sell the style mats for 10k each.

I don't see the problem. There will always be a means of translating real-life money into in-game gold. Buying furniture on the Crown store to sell for gold is an immersive and crafty means of implementing this in an official, sanctioned capacity.

This is the only direct way I'm aware of. The other potential money to gold conversions require reliance on RNG(such as learning styles through the crown store for the purposes of earning master writs) or crafting one of the two Crown exclusive motifs for people as a master crafter. Both of which still require significant time investment within the game to be even remotely feasible for the purposes of making gold.

This is buy >sell > done, if true.

This doesn't exist anymore. I bought a pillow from crown store and it's bound.

This is the saddest attempt at belittling someone's post I've ever seen. And I see it more and more on these forums. Where exactly was it stated that this was more than an issue within the game. You know these forums are intended exclusively for this type of discussion about THE GAME and nothing else, right?

I don't like this either, and I know that it's not intended, but it's not laundering.

For it to be laundering you would have to have people using it as a method to make real money coming from an illegitimate source appear to be coming from a legitimate source. So it would really only work if you were taking proceeds of crime (or otherwise illegitimate real money), using it to buy crowns, using those crowns to buy crown store furniture, selling that furniture for gold, and then turning around and selling that gold for real money. And even then it wouldn't really work for laundering unless you can find a way to make the money coming in to pay for the gold seem like it's legitimate so that it would stand up to scrutiny.

Bro, you're the one who started to rage not me.

I dont think this is so big issue as people make it to be, as far Im concerned they should start selling Gold via CrownStore for extra revenue stream, 2 mill shouldnt cause any problem. Gold selling has been in MMORPG since the 90s, so why not to do it ourselves and get over it.

There was already a similar post earlier this week.

I don't see the problem with "laundering" furniture. Many other MMOs have a rather similar function such as WoW tokens on WoW and Bonds on Runescape where these tokens with the function of providing membership status for a period of time, can be bought with real life money via Blizzard or Jagex and sold in game for virtual currency.

There are already gold sellers selling gold in this game. Better we have the real life money exchange for in game currency be done through a legitimate source than some shoddy 3rd party.

It allows me to turn money into gold by buying from Bethesda, instead of some dodgy website. Bethesda becomes the new legal gold seller for ESO, and all I have to do is buy crowns from them. I can turn those into whatever gold I can get through smart buying and selling of furniture. I can turn my thousands of ESO Plus crowns into gold.

This is not laundering, but it is a way to get Bethesda into the cash-to-gold pipeline. A legal way that won't get you banned.

I find myself wondering whether this will get fixed. Properly done, it targets the gold seller websites with a very nasty blow. That would reduce the gold-seller bots in the game. If they can short circuit the materials sellers and the leveling services by getting people to buy from Bethesda instead of some other website, this is nothing but win for Bethesda.

Why is it when I get crown furniture it's automatically bound and by the looks it is not for some people.

It's not the furniture you can get from the f5 menu, its the furniture from the crown store menu, FYI.

You buy 12 pieces for 750 crowns and can sell some of them for 50k each
