Think it drops 500 or something each hour, less than 1000 but more than 2-300.BlackSparrow wrote: »Your bounty doesn't decrease during maintenance, but it does decrease when you're otherwise offline. So if your bounty gets that high, go play an alt for a day or three. I had a 900-ish bounty last week (didn't see an NPC who could see me), and so I logged off and played another character for a while. The bounty was gone by the time I logged in the next day.
Bounty system's fine, and now you know to be more careful about witnesses in the future.
I'm sorry but the bounty system needs a massive nerf because it takes WAY too long for your bounty to decrease. I have a bounty of 11k and I log on the next day to find out it's still 11k.
I really don't wanna lose my gold since I'm saving up for a house, this high bounty is making it impossible for me to sell/buy items and craft things at cities due to the large amount of guards.

Alright, I'm just gonna hang in Coldharbour for a while but I still think this should be nerfed because what if players can't get into Coldharbour? You're basically screwed.

I feel like you over exaggerated on the "still 11k" comment.
Just go steal Thief Troves and use the anti-bounty papers (i forgot what they're called)
It doesn't seem to decrease during maintenance, or at least the first time it came out that gave some trouble. Had nearly the same amount when the server went offline as it did when it came back up.

Yeah, this freaking sucks. I've been caught in that particular trap several times, in several elders scrolls games

@LadyLavina @kenneth.friisb16_ESO in your settings you can find an option to turn OFF auto loot for stolen items. It keeps this from happening by adding the extra keypress to confirm looting of stolen goods only

We're referring to the items that sit on weapon/armor racks & things that aren't in containers. I do appreciate that response though.
Indeed. I linked this already, but check out my thread about how they could add Community Service to the Justice System:LadyLavina wrote: »I had some additional thoughts for this thread. It would be interesting if you could do quests for the guards to decrease your bounty. Perhaps going and killing monsters/daedra in a certain area or some kind of parcel delivery. Guards would not aggress during the time you were alotted to complete the quest, but would immediately if you failed to complete it within (x) amount of time.
I think Fable 2 had a community service option when you got caught.
I have no thoughts on how much of the bounty this would remove, as I don't think such a feature should wipe the slate clean if the bounty is rather high.

A couple of thing that might help you out:
1. Invest some skill points in "Legerdemain" passives (trust me it helps a lot)
2. Find a good place where there is no guards, some chests and (if you don't prefer pick-poceting) not too much NPC's
(for example Indoril Manor in Devon's Watch - there is only one NPC there, no guards and at lest 10 containers)
3. Log in, steal suff, log off and repeat - until your you can fance no more items. I am able to earn 9000 - 12000 gold daily per character that way (RNG dependent).
If you have access to DLCs (Thieves guild & Dark brotherhood):
Grind their skill lines - that also help a lot
Thieves guild - for selling stolen items to fences for more gold (up to 10% more) and faster bounty decaying.
Dark brotherhood - for "eliminating" certain NPCs that might see you stealing stuff, and increase your bounty.
btw. Doing quests for Thieves guild & Dark brotherhood will reward you with consumables that (when consumed) diaereses your bounty.

The major difference is the fact that this is a persistent world. You can't just get sent to jail for an arbitrary amount of black-screen time in ESO like you could in previous TES games.Well it was easier to handle in Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. I don't see why it should be this different.notimetocare wrote: »"i got a super high bounty for doing illegal things, it should go away faster"
