And here I am constantly surrounded by ESO but I can't bring myself to play it.

Co-workers play ESO on PC. Several old friends began playing ESO on PC. PC population is increasing big time after the recent sales since the holidays. I want to enjoy ESO on my 3440x1440 display.

Yet i'm stuck on PS4 because I chose to use the account copy service at PS4 launch. My reason for doing so was that controller support still hadn't been released on PC and the PC versions matchmaker had been broken for a year.

Big frickin' mistake.

Now i'm stuck with either losing over a thousand hours of progress by switching back to my 2 year old account on PC, or to continue playing on a platform i've grown to hate.

I know that if an account transfer service is ever offered that it won't include an account "merge", so if I start playing on PC i'm losing any progress I make.

So lame.

I don't think anyone is saying it is dying. I think more people are complaining because it sucks as a mmo and fair as a single player RPG. And it's buisness model is highly predatory, with little longevity to what you pay for

Predatory business model how? Genuinely interested to know how you think it's predatory. It's the same kind of setup as all B2P mmo's out there with no pay to win armour or weapons in the cash shop. Basically just cosmetics. And if you're talking about Morrowind talk to WoW players who are forced to sub to play and have to pay for expansions.

As an mmo it was never the most standard of mmo's. it's not WoW or GW2 etc. I would certainly like to see more group content, absolutely but it's kept me entertained for over 3 years.

8.5 total copies sold not unique players. For instance, i bought it on PC, PS4 and Xbox. I have 2 friends that game, both bought it and barely played the game. So that is 5 copies bought and i am only playing on Xbox. I know that may not be the usual but just puts things in perspective. But it does have a good playerbase. I think if they would invest in performance before the Expansion then the game would be absolutely thriving even more with better performance along with lots of new content. One can wish i guess lol.

The problem with this is that those units mean nothing. It doesnt reflect active players which means it doesnt reflect how many are buying in. The game is definitely popular and active. Even places that are backwater zones are rather active and main cities for the alliances are always laggy and take time to load in. But theres a reason why they arent doing a Blizzard move here and talking about the amount of active players but instead the number of units sold. Its misleading.

There isn't much they can do other than get rid of General discussion or require a sub to post.....anyway It's really just the same handful of people, they get perma banned from the forums and they run out and buy a new copy.....at least that's what my nutter neighbor that lives a few blocks over does. He's convinced ESO is preventing the arrival of TES 6.

Fast Forward 6 Months, In that timeframe we have acquired every Skylanders Game. We have spent in excess of 100 hours searching for various Skylanders we didn't have in preowned tubs at game stores and online.

We switched consoles when he broke the Wii, so had to buy the games and portals all over again for Xbox 360 because guess what. Not compatible between platforms. We have also acquired almost every Skylander in existence except the extremely rare chase version ones that fetch an absolute fortune. I've managed to acquire a few of those but they do not come cheap at over $150 each and as such remain sealed in their boxes up high away. Forbidden fruit.

We would be down somewhere around $4000-$5000 so far. I've lost count.. it's scary.

Trust me, Activision are the absolute masters of gouging - and in the worst possible way, doing it via your children (which puts them firmly into the scum class with Disney and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment).
