Gear Cap Raise [some point in future]

How do you think it'll be done?
Tailoring 12/12 instead of 10/10?
Use of a new material again or stick to rubedo, rubedite, ruby ash to make it easier on us when new gear cap is out?
What of a time limit option that can cost gold / or crowns to raise all your monster set gear to the new gear set cap?

I honestly would hate a gear cap increase again
I'm not a fan of farming new materials or sets all over again.
Burning Spellweave set was just a pain to get all in divines.
Especially whem Warden is released, I'll have 7 toons to keep track on & when gear cap is raised, sure would take a while to get them all to like 180cp gear

Sure they said it wont happen anytime soon or in morrowwind expansion.
Just think they could do something to make it easier on us lol

They will not increse it plainly like they have done before imo because that would make too many items useless like maelstrom, monster sets etc. I think maybe you would be able to upgrade the items level or it will scale with you or something similar to it.

Has any MMO made a new tier easy? Ever?

Coming from more than a decade of MMO experience, why is regearing auddenly something horrible? Been doing this since the dawn of the MMORPG. That we uave gone so long at v16/cp160 is a surprise

You will find that people in this community are very entitled when it comes to their gear and that they do not understand how a gear treadmill is good for the health of the game.

The introduction of an upgrade system would be nice though; so you didn't need to farm the gear again, but just needed a big amount of materials to upgrade the gear. That way you would have the option to go farm it or just plainly upgrade it.

Is there any reason to raise gear cap? People already solo vet dungeons. Do you want people to solo vet trails too?

Its the upgrading mats that really suck, item quality is usually static based on where it comes from in most other games. ESO items can be green, blue, purple; doesn't matter if the stats are to your liking you can always improve it unless its jewelry. Getting to purple isn't so bad, getting them to gold is the bigger issue. Even with two-handed weapons in both slots, that's a minimum of 72 gold mats to upgrade every slot not including enchants.

A few points why this will never be done:

    - Re-Gearing in ESO -> Monster Set shoulders takes MONTHS, because you can only get x amount per day -> RNG
    - Re-Gearing in ESO -> vMSA Weapons takes MONTHS, because it takes way to long -> RNG
    - Re-Gearing in ESO -> Gear upgrades hardly improves damage, yet it's annoying to not have the highest gear rank.

Gear Cap Raise will make a massive amount of people quit, ZOS loses money, bad business model.

Gear Cap Raise is done in cheap Free 2 Play MMO's because you can buy shortcuts in Cash Stores and upgrade your gear quickly in 1 day for, let's say 50 dollars, -OR- grind 6 months. And since ESO isn't a cheap Free 2 Play MMO, this will not happen.

WOW raises level cap on each expansion, this makes the new quest reward gear better than your old raiding gear.
This has been standard with all expansions, content updates between gives new sets.
No this is not an good idea, and ESO should not do it, but wow is not an cheap f2p game.

Updates in ESO tend to give new and better gear. this will probably be even more true for Morrowind who is far larger than average DLC. Result your old gear is not the best anymore prepare for an new grind and replacing your sets.

Just an gear cap increase to 180 would be less dramatic as you could upgrade sets over time.
If you need new sets anyway and gear cap increase would hardly matter.
If nothing in Morrowind is better than existing people will not do the group content.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    1. Remove Keen Eye passives
    2. Add new passive, unlocked only at Clothing, Woodworking and Blacksmithing level 50 (Or whatever highest level will be)
    3. Master Crafter I: Allows the use of upgrading materials from any level to your current level. Requires the materials anyway, for each level - so a CP 10 will require galatite, quicksilver etc. to get to CP 160/1XX
    4. Master Crafter II: Adds the ability to change the Racial Style of an item.

Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

They could just raise the cap only on crafted gear, to bring it back into the limelight...

But I guess we should not talk about such things, if we go quiet maybe it will never happen

The grind for BiS gear in this game is MUCH worse than in other MMOs. It takes a around 6-12 months just to gear one character.

This a solid idea on a way to expand crafting even more and provide a viable upgrade path to higher CP gear.

Probably because I know how to balance a game more than Zo$ does. Oh, and also how to add new interesting updates to already-existing stuff.

Anyone who wants a gear cap increase needs to understand how scaling works. Once you understand that, you'll realize that an increase is pointless.

I hope they won't undo all the great work they've done so far by raising gear cap and destroying sets, making trials and dungeons obsolete and so on. CP cap inscrease is more than enough.

I love how everyone compares WOW to every other MMO. Yet, they forget to mention the endless, boring grind to get the BIS gear that's only good for a couple months.

But with a major expansion coming out; with I assume more craftable and acquirable sets. ZOS will need to consider permanently retiring some sets. The only way to accomplish that without a major backlash, is a gear level change.

    "Gear Cap Raise"

The only way ZOS can do this without ruining current CP 160 gear (especially those set that you spend hours on grinding)
    is by:

    1. Make it possible to upgrade CP gear (no matter their CP level, you will be able to upgrade for example CP 150 gear to CP 160 gear and then upgrade CP 160 to 170 etc.).
    2. Auto upgrade CP 160 to new cap when ZOS will increase the cap.
    3. Or just make a CP gear with no rank that will scale automaticity with your current CP level (the CP gear will auto level with you).
