Can someone talk me out of doing what I'm about to do?

I keep returning back to the crown store under houses and I keep looking at Daggerfalls outlook mansion. I'm about to cave in so I need some encouragement from other players of not going through with my impulsiveness of purchasing this expensive manor :(

I feel the same way, I keep reminding myself outside of aesthetics there is no real reason to waste REAL money on this pixelated illusions of grandeur.

I won't talk you out of it entirely, but I can give you some more food for thought.

If you're someone who works, has disposable income but doesn't have much time to play, you may want to think about doing it.

If you're not the above or do have a lot of game time then set yourself a challenge in game to earn the money for it. I am currently working towards the Ebonheart Manor in game, I spend time market trading or farming every now and then to work towards my goal.

If you want a long term goal in the game and a reason to log in and do things, don't use Crowns. If you want the house now, have disposable income and not much time to play, use Crowns.

The main thing is don't feel bad about either way you get it, just do what makes you happy and enjoy the house when you get it.

ZOS you did it for me.

With the scheduled maintenance and me not having access to the crown store 5 mins prior to the server shut down

Don't buy crowns just to buy the mansion.
It's pretty much what they want you to do lol
I'd prefer saving that 3.8 mill gold instead & just use crowns on costumes or mounts.

Any reason why you're not subbing the amount of the mansion so you get bonuses AND the crowns available to purchase it at a later date?

if you buy daggerfall overlook, make sure you get the furnished option way better IMHO that's what I did just wish the player limit was higher on all the houses.

You should not buy it because it is an exact copy of Daggerfall Castle and Daggerfall Bank and you shouldnt pay 10k+ crowns for lazy developers copy pasting an existing world object and making it interactable.

    There :)

(They didnt even reskin it this time!)

Well it will not become more expensive so you can always buy it later.
Perhaps waiting a bit and see how much you would use housing.

Off topic but where did you get the skirt?
It don't look like daeric and I don't know about other skirts.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

Just get it and stop thinking about it. You only live once and you already know you want it. Why torture yourself over the decision? If you end up regretting your choice, you'll eventually get over it and in the mean time you have a big freaking castle.

It's just money and entertainment man. Consider whether you can afford it (ingame or outofgame) and pull the trigger and be happy with it.

Personally the ONLY rason I would buy a house using crowns is to fully furnish the house since I don't think I want to farm furniture and have a half empty house for a given period of time. But then again I still ask the big question, Why do I even want to bother with a house at all when there is no true interactivity except with lights and some chairs and NOT EVEN ALL CHAIRS o_O really?? why is that a thing ZoS...

Then again there ARE people out there who are horrible at making money, *points to self -_-*, and just want a quick uh house I guess? I don't know *shrugs*.

Unfortunately if I were to get the Daggerfall overlook mansion through purchasing of gold I would have to spend a week or two doing Cadwells gold quest plus dealing with excessively needy NPCs wanting me to solve all of their problems side quests so that I get get the Daggerfalls hero achievement.

Then as I said in my previous post. If you're in the position where the money won't feel wasted buy the house and have fun.
There is a taboo attached to the Crown Store because of ZOS' greed in other things, but end of the day it's designed to be convenient for people who don't have game time but do have money.

I have a friend who works abroad a lot and gets very little time to grind/farm gold in ESO. So he'll be purchasing his house with Crowns when he gets back because he wants to enjoy the update and house but doesn't have the time to sit and grind for it before his next trip.

Don't do it. I really don't get the appeal of housing. I haven't even done the initial quest to get a free room. Seems so pointless. Better to make a killing selling overpriced materials for crafting furniture...especially while it's a new feature.

Doesn't work as a guild house because it caps out at 5% of the guild roster population.

Can't do guild auctions because you can't access the guild bank for items or money.

The larger the home the more impossible it is to fill in a satisfying way under the item cap.

The larger the home the more it will seem lifeless and dead.

Better homes will probably come with Morrowind, and maybe even before.

The lack of function basically makes it just a status symbol and virtual status symbols are silly concept.

You probably don't have the free inventory space to manage the decorating process of a house this large without frustration.

It will likely take you longer to get from your front entrance to where you placed the crafting tables than it will take me to get from my city wayshrine to those tables.

You have to travel twice from Cyrodiil wayshrine to bank at your house (wayshrine doesn't work for homes) and I only need to do it once to get to my city.

Best reason: You can pay me $50 USD to kick you in the nuts and save $50.

I don't like steak, I don't understand why people do. I have never even eaten steak, it seems a waste of a meal.
Better just letting everyone else order expensive steak and enjoying the sausage and mash.

DUDE... you can buy a smaller house that will probably be more enjoyable to live in....

I currently live in a house the size of that mansion and wish every day that i didn't,

Sooooooo many stairs to navigate and no good house help anywhere so the cobwebs are gathering in the corners,
I don't have time to clean myself as I am running trials or farming for furniture or getting molested in Cyrodiil.

Having a butler is also soooooooo overated, especially when he insists on bringing you martini's and not the beer you ordered...

Also as you get older you take a left instead of a right and find yourself in parts of the house you never knew existed, oh, thats actually quite a lot of fun though....

And don't get me started on the garden............

Ps. I was just kidding, i don't live in a mansion..... hahahahahahahahah....

Someone already said it ,it's a shameful copy paste of dc castle, and they wanna charge you 100 dollars for it , 120 if you want the furnished version, which is the price of 3 expansions or 6 dlcs! Don't insult yourself by encouraging this kind of behavior.

Don't do it is my advice. It looks great, but once you have it you will rarely return or use it. You then realize you bought access to a $100 virtual broomcloset, with no function which isn't even it your possession since it is virtual and is still owned by Z$nimax.

Have you tried it on the pts? If not go and buy it there.

Play making the house you want there for a few of days. If you still feel like you have a lot more fun to do in decorating your house then maybe it is worth it.

How many hours / days fun will you get out of your $120?

Remember you with need more gold or crowns to decorate it properly. What is the projected hourly rate of $ to fun?

Would you have more fun with $120 of beer? Mmm beer...

If you bought Humblemud for 40,000 gold and $40 of crowns and $80 of beer? Would that be more fun?
