I'd prefer saving that 3.8 mill gold instead & just use crowns on costumes or mounts.

Well it will not become more expensive so you can always buy it later.
Perhaps waiting a bit and see how much you would use housing.

It don't look like daeric and I don't know about other skirts.

Unfortunately if I were to get the Daggerfall overlook mansion through purchasing of gold I would have to spend a week or two doing Cadwells gold quest plus dealing with excessively needy NPCs wanting me to solve all of their problems side quests so that I get get the Daggerfalls hero achievement.
