Do you know how many players are sitting on 5-10-15-20+ million gold and nothing to do with it? Nothing to spend it on. I have just below 7 mill personally and absolutely nothing to buy. The best gear in the game doesn't come from purchasing it, almost all the best in slot gear is bind on pickup. Sure you have some random things like spinners, mothers sorrow, spriggans that sell for high prices but even if you used that ill-gotten gold for purchasing those sets you still have no advantage over anyone else. People can still buy gold from gold selling companies, having a ton of gold offers no advantages.
And I'm not advocating that this is right, I personally believe that nothing obtained via crowns should be sold for gold.. however I don't see it causing a gap or problem that injures the economy, game or it's player base.
I assume it's better value spending money to buy from gold farming companies than it is buying crowns to flip furnishings for "profit."
The difference is they earned it IN GAME, and not with their wallet, which others without a disposable income can do. I congratulate you on your ability to earn gold, but you in fact EARNED IT. Being able to make gold from crowns does in fact give you an in game advantage other those without a disposable income.
you keep saying that it is pay to win but that simply is not true, we have shown you proof that your belief is not what is happening here in eso.
you cannot pay to win in eso.
the only way to do that is if you can use real life money to buy ingame items that can be used to kill other people and / or kill PvE Bosses that other people ingame Cannot get.
please try to understand.
people whom have millions of gold, they have won nothing.
they are no better in thier game then those whom have 100 gold.
dwemer_paleologist wrote: »yeah, heres the thing.
people with Huge amounts of ingame gold win nothing in eso.
people with Huge amounts of real life money and spend it in eso, they also win nothing.
no one has "won", "win", nor "advance" or "acquire" anything in eso.
if you think eso is pay to win in any form or manner then please tell us how.

pay-to-win
Games that let you buy better gear or allow you to make better items then everyone else at a faster rate and then makes the game largely unbalanced even for people who have skill in the game without paying.
Dude, you've spent like 400 bucks on this game so you can beat everyone who hasn't spent any money. Pay-to-win noob!

the above definition never happened in eso.

Absolutely a bug. I'm positive it even says in the patch notes that crown store bought items are not able to be traded or sold.
@ZOS_GinaBruno Crown store items can be bought and sold in game.
HonestGabe wrote: »Urban dictionary ROFL. You don't have to grind weeks or months to make the same amount of gold you could by selling something off the crown store. Your argument is invalid but if you really want to believe eso is becoming p2w by all means you are more than welcome to.
HonestGabe wrote: »Yea, I know. I played BDO for a short while before I returned to ESO. The thing is, BDO is much more of a grind and having money means more than it does in ESO. I don't think it's as big of a problem as it is in BDO personally.
HonestGabe wrote: »Yea, honestly I don't completely agree with it. I don't think it should be allowed but unless they continue with this trend and further this advantage I don't see it as much of a problem.
Purchase Tab in Housing Editor
Furnishings purchased from the Housing Editor are bound to your account, but may be moved to other homes that you own.
These items are purchased for crowns, and cannot be sold for gold.

Probably will be fixed with Monday's patch and I suspect all items currently in stores will be put back in players inventory.

are you referring to the imperial furnitures?
there are no offical feedback that imperial furniture blueprints are crown-exclusive yet...there is a slightly chance it is just rare
though, we shall see how ZOS respond this @ZOS_GinaBruno
you can buy mimik stones and sell the armor made from them, thats no different then furniture.
It is absolutely different. The mimic stone allows you to create armor of styles that exist in game. The crown store furniture
Can't be obtained in game.

I think much of it is craftable. The Redguard Fire Pit is craftable and can be obtained with crowns.

But none of it should be tradeable once purchased for crowns.

While consistency is probably best, I am not sure it is such a big deal if I can sell a crown purchased fire pit. Probably a waste of 400 crown.
I don't know why they don't add in something like Kronos. Kronos kept Everquest going and allowed for new servers to flourish. It also puts out gold sellers as they can not hope to compete.
1. Allows those who want to support the game and get a head start (useful for returning players or new p;layers) to do so.
2. Allows players to sink gold into memberships (they buy the item for membership).
The only con is items may lose gold value and gain value in the new currency. WoW combated this by price setting their Tokens and you can only go through the trade sytem, not peer to peer.
It doesn't promote Pay to Win anymore than Expansions or DLCs do. In fact it makes such entities like DLCs have less impact in P2W since you can use gold to buy membership and get access through simply playing the game. And ZOS still gets paid by someone for your access.
Sort of a win/win situation.
