I love the new system. I love decorating my house, and I look forward to decorating many more. (Including a Mushroom Tower on Vvardenfell? Who can say!)

Between this and the wealth of DLC that has come out over the last year and change, the game feels so much more complete than it did at launch. Between this and 1T, it feels like a living breathing world. Well done ZOS, you finally dragged me away from FFXIV for good.

It is true what you say. The game is getting better and better. Sure, there may be bugs and problems here and there but comparing launch, 1.6, 1T and now easily shows that the game improves. Zones are alive, you encounter other players almost everywhere. There is always something you can do and if you don't want to, just run around and murder everyone or something ;).

Furthermore, I think - even without storage or other options- houses are great and I have fun finding and crafting new decorations day for day. A great system that hopefully will be further improved in the future.

I'm having fun with it, too. :)

I just wish there were things to do inside my house other than decorate. We need to be able to cook at home, at the very least.

It's not perfect, but it's more than enough to keep me entertained for a long time. As a character-based roleplayer, giving my girls houses suitable to their tastes and personalities was exactly the sort of long-term goal I needed to keep me in the game. :)

Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."

There is still improvement to be done but I am also having fun so far. I wish the quest would have also awarded basic furniture blueprints, so at least when buying the house you could place some basic beds / chairs straight away.

I agree  ! I love my Sleek Creek house! Been fun decorating a bit, checking out achievement vendors, recipe hunting , recipe trading, crafting, even mostly fun farming the new mats though drop rates could be better.
I hope we see more (or more easily accessible than the craft/dye stations) functionality for the housing in the future too, like gardening, fishing, tiny storage for immersion.
But its allready a wonderfull addition to the game!

got some things quicker than expected but others are gonna take time so.,.. i like the mix.
will certainly not be done with my current homes by morrowind and then have homes there as well.

good overall setup and pacing and this is only the start.

once i get to craft armor-racks/mirrors (hold complete loadout of gear and easy swap-in/swap-out) - it will be a game changer for me.

It's good, I like it, but honestly, it's not awesome. I'm looking forward to some serious additions such as:

    1. Storage. I knew it wasn't included. Now that I have my house and I see what Zenimax is charging for furniture, this is actually a no-brainer. Since the game is designed with a slot system (as opposed to a weight system) then just give players a few slots in a cabinet or wardrobe. Ten slots in a small cabinet; 20 or so in a large.

And don't tell me most players have not maximized bank space. At this point, you're charging money for ... something that sits in the room and does nothing.

    2. Food Containers. Speaking of things that sit in the room and do nothing, how is that food containers and baskets don't give a daily drop? I guess they can be abused - and so players who don't utilize housing would complain about it, but seriously, the answer is ... get a house! None of the baskets, crates, boxes are live - and they should be. I'm not talking motifs or blueprints; I talking about a damn apple or two.

    3. Beds that I can sleep in. Maybe get a little buff (5% experience gain for being well rested or something).

    4. Remember that outfit/costume system? Yes, please.

    5. More cooking stations. Jeeze, that's a no-brainer, too. The only thing you offer is a fire pit ... I'd have to cook my meals in the yard.

    6. And for the love of God, let's get rid of the taxidermy gallery. My motionless staring pets are ... creepy. Beyond creepy, it's something like this:

Let them move, walk around the room, do something! It's not that hard, people were doing this back in Oblivion.

1 inventory and bank space is expensive at the end, storage in house would also be in an separate zone with your furniture making it easier for servers, it would also give crafting stations in house more value as items in house will not be accessable outside.

2 or simply let you grab food and give an food animation. Food respawns after a minutes, nice for roleplay or fun.

    1. Inventory could be managed in a number of ways so that a player isn't avoiding the increases available via gold or the Crown Store. A food only container, for example.
    2. Actually, I was thinking of the storage containers (baskets, crates) that do nothing. A corn basket should give you ... corn. Kind of like Skyrim.

    Love it...but we need
    1. a higher limit on collectibles/mounts etc that can be placed
    2. Cheaper building blocks (contruction) they are massively overpriced. 2 crowns each and i'll buy a hundred and make something....30+ and I won't do anything.
    3. ability to mount more collectibles; the rare objects that drop from mobs, stolen items, weapons you aren't using
    4. storage....come on, I've got a ton of crates and chests in my house I can't interact with and just leave stuff. It's a personal instance that should allow you to drop weapons and armour etc that will stay there and can be picked up with the in game editor if you want to move it and place it. That'd be a nice nod to the other elder scrolls games.
    5. finally....the lighting needs sorting. Some candles are fine but a string of lanterns does nothing.
    6. ....and make a teleporter craftable so you can use it from your house

Even though housing is not 'must have' and probably more appealing to role players, I am considering buying every property in the game, only with in game gold, just for the sake of it. None of them would ever be furnished beyond some crafting stations and DPS skeletons - much to the horror of the RP'ers out there.

I would have my work cut out for me as I think that would come to about 28 million gold - so I have to quadruple my current holdings. Maybe take small steps, maybe one home in each zone, then one of each type (small, medium, large, manor) and progressively expand my holdings.

Most of them would never get used but you cannot say I don't set myself goals B)

It has its ups and downs, but I am happy.

I am interested in just sell furniture now. It's a good life and pays for indoor decor

I have seen people come up with ingenious games and sell to play them. Her house is always 12/12

I still think I will make a garden in my royal bosmer house... Though might of been easier in the medium one....Item limits are scary as I already have nearly 200. Some tress count for to much.

The material grind makes me daunted, but remember you can sell items that you don't like so over time there will be more in the market as people trade out new for old. Though I do heartwood is far to rare compared to others too 2 of us a hour to get 5.So just increase chance of double node drop.

Players not interested can donate they don't want to me @Tasear or your local guild bank. Then again if you would sell them that would be great...As supply is too low compared to demand.

Though the great elk scam shook my confidence, I imagine this game will be great. I played wow for a day, but feels like I could play ESO for a lifetime.

    These I would improve,

    Let couples live together,

I don't see the harm in letting X place item z in O's home if they are wearing both ring of Mara in home.

    Beds need to be interactive

It's obvious why you haven't done so but I like the suggestion of giving a buff. Maybe depending on the quality or even style give a buff. There are already similar items in game like aylied well and bosmer totem. I suggest 15, 30 and 1 hour buff.

    * Agrogiain bed gain up to 3% more healing
    * High elves gain more experience training staves

It would represent assimilating with a culture also give those people who despise homestead a reason to be quiet and enjoy.

Fishing holes, we are making due but homes are still lifeless.

Bugs, let people come home to collect bait.

<3 Special events, make quests monthly only accessible by visit X house. Rewards should be special furniture or materials or blueprints. <3

Let us make some special things at home. Like skooma thing had me rolling over laughing. Remover special new life drink steal the code from there and recolor it. Let it give random buffs and debuffs for and hour.

I know lore is important, but can we have games, like beach ball or pull the snake from stick and hope you don't get bit.

Housing leader board... Needs to happen.

I want a way visit random people.

Eat at table with certain people gives a team buff. Maybe temporary one attribute point in health for each member at table

Probably to much work but make story time section where people have to sit on pillows and listen to a book read from someone. Give them 1 MANA point and 2 for reader for 1 hour(Mage guild book)

Alternatively, you can have them read a mage book and give this buff while giving a shorter temporary multipler for team members on pillows.

Do something with beds maybe 1 stamina for sleeping.

There you go it would solve all these issues and make it even greater game.

Glad to see a lot of people agree. Yeah, there is room for improvement, I agree there. But ZOS always improves on their systems. Thus far, they have never introduced something and just ceased supporting it. Given what a big crown sink this is too, I imagine it will get a lot of TLC in the months to come.... leading right into Morrowind.

Exactly! Only more in-depth... I could see using a major or even minor figure from the main story show up at your home every few levels to ask for help on this continuing story arch, and between that there could be consequences from the story arch like home attacks etc.
