I'm enjoying it. What I'm enjoying mostly at the moment surprisingly is hunting with friends and sharing the furnishing recipes we're finding. We've been surprised for the most part that they're dropping as frequently as they are.

Like always, there are some things that are perplexing (like collectible limits on housing. An item is an item really). But i'm happy for what we have and also looking forward to improvements; confident it will only improve and become more refined as time goes by.

Like always there are 101 one good suggestions, I hope they take some on board. Time will tell. But for now I'm happily content, working on my apartment - getting a hang of things - before I move on to the bigger house in Sentinel.

    Thanks ZoS.

It's good, I like it, but honestly, it's not awesome. I'm looking forward to some serious additions such as:

    1. Storage. I knew it wasn't included. Now that I have my house and I see what Zenimax is charging for furniture, this is actually a no-brainer. Since the game is designed with a slot system (as opposed to a weight system) then just give players a few slots in a cabinet or wardrobe. Ten slots in a small cabinet; 20 or so in a large.

And don't tell me most players have not maximized bank space. At this point, you're charging money for ... something that sits in the room and does nothing.

    2. Food Containers. Speaking of things that sit in the room and do nothing, how is that food containers and baskets don't give a daily drop? I guess they can be abused - and so players who don't utilize housing would complain about it, but seriously, the answer is ... get a house! None of the baskets, crates, boxes are live - and they should be. I'm not talking motifs or blueprints; I talking about a damn apple or two.

    3. Beds that I can sleep in. Maybe get a little buff (5% experience gain for being well rested or something).

    4. Remember that outfit/costume system? Yes, please.

    5. More cooking stations. Jeeze, that's a no-brainer, too. The only thing you offer is a fire pit ... I'd have to cook my meals in the yard.

    6. And for the love of God, let's get rid of the taxidermy gallery. My motionless staring pets are ... creepy. Beyond creepy, it's something like this:

Let them move, walk around the room, do something! It's not that hard, people were doing this back in Oblivion.

    Just some ideas.
6 my pets are animated but don't move.

So I and a friend experimented with this last night, just to test out the limits:

Pets: Early pets (before Zenimax started adding more complex animations), don't do much. Some of the later pets (my friend has the cute little bear), will run animations but won't move. Maybe it's because I work in a museum, but it still has an "exhibit" feel to it.

Horses: The two horses I tested just stood there, staring. They have a breathing animation, a slight one, but other than that, they don't move. Maybe the animation from the character load screen, which has more movement, could be added.

One thought my friend had, relating to horses, is that every horse in the game pulls from the same animation file or index. So if you go to a stable, you will see a few horses just standing around doing nothing. This makes it easier if Zeni wants to add an NPC brushing a horse or something. Having them all use the same file is easier and more efficient. If that file is then changed to add more animations, then all the horses will be moving in unison, which would look weird.

As someone who bought my furnished Cyrodillic Jungle House with crowns, I personally feel like it was great value for money. For less than the price of 15 crates or an elk mount, I got a fully furnished house where I can derp around with my mates, display my achievements, and even had enough crowns left over to add my own quirky decorating touches like a well, a huge mushroom, and a skooma pipe! Sure, it all has no practical use in combat, but then again neither does any mount other than the Sorrel horse, any style motif, any costume, etc. etc.

When I first logged on after the patch, I was looking for every flaw I could, having just read a load of negativity on the forums. Yes, as a stamsorc main I lost a big chunk of dps - but completed the vMA the same day because, ahem, dps isn't everything! - but overall I am really pleased with the changes that have taken place. Yes, certain things, like the dungeon finder, are buggy as hell at the moment, but these things aren't really concerning me because Tamriel feels more alive.

Nicely done, more of this please!

I love the new system. I love decorating my house, and I look forward to decorating many more. (Including a Mushroom Tower on Vvardenfell? Who can say!)

Between this and the wealth of DLC that has come out over the last year and change, the game feels so much more complete than it did at launch. Between this and 1T, it feels like a living breathing world. Well done ZOS, you finally dragged me away from FFXIV for good.

LMFAO ffxiv has much better housing than eso .. you can decorate your house in eso ..
can you change the out side does it have air ships does it have gardening does it have fish tanks does it have jute box to change music that plays in side the house does it have storage does it have items that can be interacted with can you change the look of the actual house? ... NO

I'm loathe to admit it, but I'm having a lot of fun with it too. I certainly didn't expect to, but it's surprisingly addictive.

Yeah, I notice that too. My little pre-order scuttler just sits there and makes a few noises. But my Thieves Guild jackal has several little animations where he chases his tail, barks, etc.

For me it's a cool little side thing. After a day of dungeoneering I can spend a little time putting up the new achievement statues and such. It's nice, cozy, and relaxing.

That being said I do need some more functionality from my "dream house". It's specific to me but my top wish is small Redguard house placed near a bank+wayshrine+enclave. So I'm just waiting for that to upgrade from the Snugpod.

Furthermore, I would LOVE a few more achievement things like the busts from dungeons to display. That makes way more sense to me than decorating a home to make it look lived-in. I would much rather build a museum in my char's honor! :D
