I bought a house. I decorated it a bit. Getting lots of furniture will be a grind and expensive. I don't care. I'll be playing for at least a year. I don't need a fully furnished house within 24 hours of feature launch. Everyone needs to put on their big boy underwear and stop complaining so much. The system isn't what you hoped. Adapt to it, constructively help improve it, or walk away.
Your lecture is seriously insulting to everyone who has raised issues and concerns with housing over the past month while it was on PTS and so far since release. Most of the issues/concerns are legitimate and are raised with the intention of providing feedback to ZOS so the housing features can be as good as possible for the benefit of all players and even ZOS, itself. If ZOS didn't want feedback and player input, they would not have a PTS. So the only "dysfunctional" people I see around here are those like you who want everyone to sit down and shut up even if they have worthwhile things to say about game features.
Agreed. All criticism is welcome and is encouraged.
they should have given us a base access to furniture= available at stores and merchants- perhaps 2 styles of every piece.
now if we wanted nicer furnitre- and decorations, furniture with utlity- then thats when the levelling and grind might come into play. but to make it totally inaccessible from the get go has been yet another mess up by this company.
to not give housing any utility whatsoever - no storage, nothing.
to not test the performance and server issues before release..
u guys are seriously *** up ur game.
I know, right? If people complain about a free update, they'll complain about anything. All ZOS will hear from them is "we hate free updates ... don't give us any more free updates, because we won't be satisfied no matter what."Complaining about a free update. Dont like it ? Dont use housing. Simple as that
So why would you buy a house now when there are new houses coming you will have purchase again in Morrwind?
So why would you buy a house now when there are new houses coming you will have purchase again in Morrwind?
of course the same exact question could be asked about any in-game non-crown purchase - like say "why would you gold up your sets knowing there will be another patch in 3-6 months altering balance" or "when with morrowind there will be a new class and new sets coming" and so on and so on.
the answer is always for me "to play what i want to play now and with full knowledge it will likely change to some degree in the future."
Which is why i tend to settle at mostly purple unless its for weapons (or gear I am certain of) and am fine with that.
When Morrowind comes out for sure I plan on buying a house there, on hoping to craft and farm useful sets there, on running the new class there and so on and that doesn't cause me to think anything differently about what i am doing now.
if i did frame every decision on what might be in six months being better as opposed to just more - i wouldn't be doing anything except letting that frame turn into a trap.

Yeah, except you know houses are being added with Morrowind.
You don't know if the Dungeon pack will have housing additions or the 4Th quarter DLC but you know Morrowind will. I'm suspecting some type of requirement to buy and own houses in Morrowind that ensure you spent in game gold and/or money on housing from the base game as well as completing the quest line.
And I don't know but suspect Orsinuim hosing will be opened up at some point.

Well... you have access to a personal banker that you can access anywhere. And you can place him in your house. Yes I know. The bottomless chests in Skyrim are what you're referring to. But it is something.
Which you don't have unless you pay 5,000 crowns for it. On top of the price of the homes, either crown or gold.
But, i bought a banker the first week they were out so now with housing he doesn't cost me a thing. Tho i can now place him in a home and have friends over who can use it too - even if i am offline. So, added benefit there at no additional cost for me.
