Zenimax: Why do you bother to have a PTS if you do not properly track issues reported?

[Edit: added "64bit/32bit client, " in the list of things I tried.]

I'm trying to return to the game and I've got the same problems. Had them for a few days even before this patch. Good to see Zenimax still doesn't care enough to listen to feedback and actually test their game. Gives me so much hope for this game.

Same issue, non steam user - win10 - up to date drivers - etc. - Crashing on launch after a pain in the ass update process that was utterly broken, repair is broken and freezes at 5%. Zenimax, do you even listen to your community when they tell you your *** is broken? Maybe you should spend less time paying for superbowl adds trying to entice people to play your unplayable game and actually update it correctly.

    I found this thread: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en-GB/discussion/106944/fix-black-screen-when-opening-eso-after-last-patch.

    I changed:

    SET RequestedNumJobThreads "0" (from -1)
    SET RequestedNumWorkerThreads "0" (from -1)

That actually let me get into the game for the first time since the patch. About an hour into the game, I crashed and the client died. Since then, I can't get passed the black screen. Settings are all the same.

Repair client found no issues. Win 10 is up to date. I'm not getting any error messages - the client just stops loading during the black screen.

Quick update: this ONLY happens on the 64-bit client. When I start up the 32-bit client (ESO.exe; not via the launcher), it instantly goes to the log-in screen with no issues.

    You know what's funny?
This was happening on the PTS as well, and they were aware of it, still, they didn't fix before going to the Live server...

This patch only brought me issues, the Aspect Ratio is messed up, if I change the screen resolution or get my graphic setting lower my UI goes unreadable, and now this, I instantly crash when open the game...

After running repair it finished with a "Patch Manifest Error" and recommended I run Repair. I closed the launcher and restarted it...ESO worked properly.

Now in game I'm getting the random hissing static on the 64bit client again like when the 64bit was just released.

    Edit:
The random hissing static seems to be linked to people using skills and rain.

    Windows 7 x64.

12 HOURS! I spent 12 hours researching and trying to figure out what is going on! I even downloaded reimage software to fix the issue ( 40 bucks!).

    4 repair cycles. nothing
Currently reinstalling THE ENTIRE GAME. 3 hours in. Still at 9%.

Good morning, I reinstalled overnight and I'm still having the same crash. Support will not help because I don't meet system requirements, but others who do were having the same issue. Any news on what the issue is here or when there will be a fix?

A sidenote, wouldn't it be best to collect all of the information you could instead of refusing to help at all simply because of system requirements? Then, if it is based on system requirements, you could say something like "The issue is happening if your hardware does not meet x, y, and z specifications."

MSI GT 70 (nVidia 780m), Win7, followed all the suggested fixes (complete reinstall, deleting user settings, KB2999226 - wich was already installed, nVidia settings, disabeling all start programs, running as admin, running in compatibility modes, 64bit/32bit client, reinstalling VC redist, firewall settings (why?!?) ....). And yes, my system is up-to-date. And yes, the previous version ran just fine.

Had the problem already on PTS, reported it, nothing was done and I was promised thet it would be fixed in the final version.
    Well, it wasn´t.

Just got the answer from the "support". They are now trying to go through the list of things I already tried with me ONCE AGAIN.
    I can´t believe it.

Same problem here. After I select my character I see the Deshaan loading screen and after a minute it goes to black and stays black. CTRL ALT Delete and the ESO Crash error shows up.

Tried updating, repairing the game and Windows. Something is wrong with the game! Yesterday it booted fine with the housing update but today nothing works.

My pc has an i5 4570, 8gb RAM and R9 380 graphics card and I can run any other game without problems. No issues there.

Now I got another reply from support stating that a mobile graphics card does not meet the minimum requirements?!?
So a high end gaming notebook is not suitable for gaming?
Zenimax, you are making your life VERY easy here, this is rubbish!

Fortunately, a post in an other thread ( https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/318994/the-game-doesnt-run/ ) helped me solve my problem.

I have an nVidia 780m/Intel 4600 combination in my gaming notebook.

There was a problem with an optional update ("Intel Corporation - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3, Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600") which would not install. I simply went to the system manager, deinstalled the Intel graphics card, turned the computer off and on again - this caused the generic driver to be installed - and now the game works - YEAH!

    More information from my side:

After selecting my character I see the Deshaan loading screen but then the ESO logo stops spinning and the loading screen turns black and when I ALT TAB I see the ESO crash report.

I tried repairing the game. Loading the 32 bit or 64 bit client does not change anything. I even changed settings in the user file to no avail. I also changed the settings back to original.

I have a desktop PC with an i5 4570 so integrated graphics driver cannot be a problem as it is disabled due to the fact I use a dedicated graphics card. Meaning I cannot run the Intel graphics driver update as it is not turned on and disabled.

Updated the AMD driver for my R9 380 and even swapped the card for a GTX1060 and used the original NVIDIA CD driver and updated driver.

Windows 7 updates are turned off and I haven't updated anything in the last couple of months. The game worked after Homestead update but the next day I could not get into game anymore. I doubt Windows update will solve this seeing as I did not update anything for the bug to happen. The only update was Homestead but as stated it worked the first time.

Launching using admin mode/ compatibility mode does not solve anything.

I tried to update the DirectX and the other driver and even tried to install the mentioned Windows KB... update but everything was up to date and not updates were needed.

I doubt this is a problem with my computer or software as nothing changed, I did not update anything but suddenly the game just does no start. This would mean that there is a huge bug in the Homestead patch.
Please help me solve this as I wanted to buy some Crowns to buy some clothing but now I have my doubts about spending more money on this game.

This is not possible on a desktop. When using a dedicated graphics card the Intel graphics chip is automatically disabled. Desktops do not make use of the so called Optimus technology which lets you swap between graphics chips as in your notebook.

Ok. I was just suggesting this because the fix for my problem suggests that the 2.7.x builds try to access all graphic chips in the system (even if the game is specifically started on the correct chip).

Having this problem. Game worked fine on my laptop before the latest updates. I deleted and downloaded / installed / patched the entire game again. Still crashes as soon as I start the game. I have the game via Steam if that helps.
