Please add a way to change styles

Am I taking crazy pills here? Why has this not been implemented yet. You add motif after motif and even crown store only motifs, but for anyone using a dropped set you're cursed to remain ugly for all eternity. You want to sell more of those crown store motifs then let us change the dang style! I've so many awesome motifs I'll never use and the depression of that fact is infuriating. PLEASE stop adding new motifs and focus on a way to change the style of existing items.. please.

I would be fine with costumes IF we could mix and match the various pieces and IF you have a costume for EVERY motif. Until then I don't want to see a single freaken suggest "just use a costume dude". Your alternative is to make better crafted sets or let us craft any set (maybe let us research sets? I don't know..).

Just use a costu-- Nah jokes, I agree with. I don't even see how a costume is a valid alternative for armor with a certain motif.
Most costumes look like casual/fancy wear, nothing you'd wear if you'd knew you were going to face a couple wabasu's.
That's for anime-fans and light armor wielders, but that's not me, I want armor, dammit!

This has been said and repeated ad nauseam and we have yet to receive any sign or response as to whether it will happen or not. I do think that a transmogrification system would be great.

I would imagine they are coming to the store sooner or later. The xpac is coming with the ability to change things into one specific set.

Sooner or later something similar will hit the store. Probably with a limited amount of uses so you have to atleast buy a couple to do a full set of armor and then buy more if you wanted to do more.

It should take CP 150 worth of mats (so not the full 150 or whatever for CP 160) plus the style stone to change the appearance. There needs to be a way for other people to do this for you for your bound gear, but that doesn't even have to be added initially. Just being able to change the style for your own gear would be amazing to have. The small material costs allows it to be a minor gold sink. Once others can change the style of your bound gear it'll give even more value to master crafters.

I'm just so sick and tired of seeing new motifs added. They don't seam to realize 90% of people will never use them because for 90% of builds dropped sets are far superior. Additionally no one wants to keep golding their gear over and over to change its appearance.

If it works the same way that the Imperial Edition does, then it's going to be useless anyway, since many of our BiS items are BoP and can't currently be converted.

Something similar to this system from LOTRO is what i would suggest to this game as well. Visit the link and support.

Gear converting to Imperial doesn't work on dropped Sets. The new converter will likely be the same.

Now, if they DID work on drop sets that would add all new value, I don't care that it binds the item.

Yes. I really want this. As long as it isn't put behind the crown store 1 time use items like Dye stamps I am 100% for it.

Also to the people saying Imperial convertor would be useless. With 1 tamriel the "any Race any Alliance" is also basicly useless. Unless you play PvP there is no need to have it (and since Imperial motifs sells for over 50k sometimes that convertor would still be a big money saver)

We need conversion so badly, what sense is in learning all those motifs? Sadly crafted sets got rather obsolete in most min/max setups. It doesn't have to be free or crown store, I'm sure we can find a mild spot where you can find a special ingredient that can reshape an item (it is a high fantasy universe anyways). You can only convert it to the motifs you know and it gets bound to your account, etc.

Not necessarily. The Imperial gear convertion is sold along with the Imperial race, but can be used by any character even if they are not Imperial and don't know the motif.

They could make it so that we can convert to any gear to any known motif. If someone has the Imperial Edition, they get the ability to convert to Imperial for free, while someone that doesn't have it would have to get the motif first.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

The way it work in wow is pretty nice, you add the armor in one slot then you add the style armor in another and press an button, this might cost gold or require some token. The style armor can be anything, crafted or drop.
Do check that the target armor is better than the style one as style armor get destroyed (this is technically not needed just that wow does it)
Benefit of this is that it will work for all stuff existing and future and is easy to use, you simply change model for the armor. This is done for the imperial style change so that is missing is the user interface who would look a bit like alchemy or enchanting.

It might be restrictions on armor type so you can not use light armor as style for heavy but would not do that unless its restriction in database who make it hard, more fun too could use level 1 bosmer robes as style for heavy armor :)
More realistically many of the light and medium armors looks pretty similar.

weapons would obviously be restricted to same type because of animation.

Indeed we have stated this time and time again, and will continue to do so until we get something.

I dislike all those "convert to..." options, I want those gone and instead have a "recraft" pip on every gear crafting station where our master crafter characters can spend resources and materials to change the style of any gear to any style they may have learned...
It would make learning styles a lot more valuable, which may even bring more people to consider the crown store style options.
I also would not mind if it requitred some rare resource (something like perfect roe or nirncrux in terms of how annoying it ought to be to get) that again impatient people could spend crowns on...

Problem here is the user interface, simplest is using an template.
No issue if it cost resources and have crafting requirements like knowing the style you want to convert too and have the required skill.

They could allow us to craft an upgrade kit in a specific style which could then be used to upgrade any one piece of equipment. You could then make them yourself or buy them from someone and just overwrite the existing piece's look, the same way you can overwrite the enchantment with a new glyph.

We really dont need any half arsed recraft/restyle/conversion system that restricts us too much. We neeed a true and flexible cosmetic system, not anything else. It might not be easiest way but it is the best way.

Agreed. There was a time I spent a lot of time and gold to collect every motif I possibly could, but when I got about 98% of them up through Dark Brotherhood, I finally asked myself why. I couldn't use any of them! Add me to the people who will definitely never buy a motif through the Crown Store until I'm able to change the appearance of my existing end-game gear.

The lack of a transmog system is the very reason I haven't bought a single crown store motif. They're just shooting themselves in the foot by dawdling on implementing this feature.

You dont want this system, if you get this, you will soon return to forums and complain about all the limitations the system would force on you.

Me included, to tell you "I said so".

I had a priviledge to play LOTRO and play with its wardrobe system which is essentially what you want, it is much better than any transmog style system..

Though why am i even writing, nobody reads anything but the first post anyways :(

But yes, a wardrobe system would be nice too. Literally anything to actually be able to apply learned motif styles to our appearance without being restricted to strictly crafted sets.
