^this. We know that ZOS has confirmed there will be no class change token, but do u want a one-time chance (probably u can give it as a pre-order bonus ZOS?) on one of your toon? I personally have no problem with no class change, but hey i do want my main toon to have a murder bear

I would love it if ZOS would put a "Change only to the new class"-token on the Crown Store for about a week after an expansion's release

For those that would like to turn their main into the char they always wanted :p

I think two tokens could be great in case that you want to revert back after trying the new class.

Or buy tokens via crown store.

As they are adding a new class, I would want to see class change option to become an regular crown store service.

Because I have at least two characters that would fit the warden theme better then what they are now... but if not, no big, I will just keep the ones I have now, and redo their character concepts as new wardens come Morrowind. (and maybe redo the current ones into different incarnations sometime...)

Considering the huge amount of time and effort I put into mastering crafting and such on my nightblade, and just how long it took me to actually level up, I'd say yes. I've been playing since launch (well, quit a year ago, but you get the gist), and I wanted warden since the early pre launch builds where we were told the warden was scrapped for the templar. I played a druid main in WoW for 4 years, I damn well wanted to continue my tradition of nature magic battlemage here, and I never got that chance.

However, I highly doubt a class change will happen at all, and ultimately it wont bother me too much. I may have to re-level everything, but having been out of the game for so long maybe it's a good thing - It will give me a chance to get into the swing of things again and relive those old quest lines a second time. Captain Jimila better prepare herself for some hot warden action =P

No, I would prefer there be no new classes at all, and these skill lines instead be added as available to any character, and earned by doing a quest line. Kind of like DB & Thieves Guild (which need active abilities as well).

We need to move away from class restrictions, not add more. That's how the best-balanced MMOs do it, that's how Elder Scrolls did it up until ESO.

Yes, this needs to happen. Anything else is a mess.

I tried to make an ice warrior work since a few months after release. I've found something that is at least partially enjoyable, but it's not on the same level as lightning (Sorcerer) or fire (DK) builds. So the addition of a frost skill line should make me happy, right?
Except I will not be able to use them on the character I have groomed for this exact purpose for years.

    gYB7vs3.png

If Iceheart + Briarheart set doesn't scream Warden, I don't know what does.

Rerolling a character might work in other games, where a max level character is effectively maxed out. This is not the case in ESO. There are just too many progression systems as part of the character system that rerolling becomes unfeasible after a certain point.
    • Skill lines, especially ones that take a long time or are difficult to level (Mages Guild, Undaunted, Alliance War, Soul Magic, Vampire, Werewolf, etc)
    • Collecting Skyshards. While "merely" extremely tiresome on PC, without addons on consoles this is also annoying and inherently un-fun.
    • Other sources of skill points. Quests, public dungeons, group dungeons.
    • Crafting professions, especially research and motif knowledge can take longer than a year to master.
    • Inventory upgrades. Upgrading to the maximum again costs nearly 200k gold.
    • Mount training. While "only" costing 45k gold, it takes at least 180 days to max your mount again.
    • Achievements. While this is especially worrisome for players who only have one character, losing hard-earned titles is annoying for everyone.

Whichever way you cut it, "only new characters can use this" is not fun.
And it's not in the spirit of removing barriers estabilshed with One Tamriel.

Discovery Pack should have had two instant mount leveling tokens included instead of the treasure maps and experience scrolls, and a bonus character slot instead of the dog and crate. That would have been enough of an equalizing bonus for brand-new Warden characters, and a worthy exclusive pre-order bonus.

Instead I'm going to fail the crate, kick the dog into the sun, burn the maps, and line my chamber pot with the scrolls. Fun.

@Imryll People will grind to 50 on new Wardens and you WILL experience this either way

@KingYogi I would change classes on my main into something that suits what I wanted out of him in the first place better.

Why are the arguments of the "no" advocates always so poor. I'd really like to discuss the issues people have with class changes, but things like this just totally miss the mark of why people even want class changes.
Nobody cares about level 1 to 50. Heck, for all I care, reset my character to level 1 when I change class. Done.

It might be nice it ALL skill lines were available to everyone and you chose Three at character creation.

I would hope it would make the game more like Rift where there are so many viable builds.
I suspect that within 6 months everyone would end up with the same Meta build and the game would be monosyllabic in terms of build variety.

You mean like they said we would never get lockboxes/gambling crates? (This is not a bash, I actually like them tbh)
Or how they said all DLC content will be free for ESO+? (Btw not a whine, I think it's good that they charge for chapters/expansions)

    Point is, things can change.
And if we don't get 2 more slots I would support a class change. Although I would prefer more character slots!

Not sure. I only have 2 characters at 50 and I don't think I would want to swap either.

However it will suck that I will not have my titles: achievments, mount training and crafting research.

Unless it resets your skills and character level (don't worry, CP rank stays if your 50 again) all back to 1, then no.

@Spectral_Lord Woopdee-bleeping-doo, to be frank. Levelling is braindead easy, all I want is to be able to have my main, my scaly baby, my chubby argonian with the buxom booty, to stay who he is (+2 years of crafting and adventuring) but as a warden.

I actually do not get this argument. Not one person will be deterred by having to level. That's easy, easy, easy with a cherry on top. There's no "work" or "reward" to levelling to 50 for the 4th, 8th, 12th, or any more times. Seriously.

It is unlikely they will make this class change "a thing" with this expansion (maybe, if ZOS is greedy enough...and I wouldn't put anything past them...but right now it doesn't seem like that's the direction).

They are bringing 2 more slots...to the crown store. Total of 14 slots now. So buy the expansion and buy 2 more slots...
