Disappointed with mount coming with Morrowind.

Imperial City came with the Mind-Shriven horse
Wrothgar came with the bear
Thieves' Guild came with the camel
Dark Brotherhood came with the wolf

All unique mounts, with different models and textures, fitting the setting and/or the culture added with the DLC.

Morrowind's collector's edition comes with ... horse armor.
Do I need to remind everyone that Dunmer eat horses, not ride them? Why not at least re-skin a guar?

I'm baffled by this decision, to see the largest content update for ESO to date fall back behind previous DLCs in this regard.
Even more so because I remember Matt Firor talking about Morrowind being his favourite TES game, and liking the idea of having an insect mount in ESO (I can't find the interview now, he has given too many over the years).

And although I generally don't care about pets, it's really the same issue. Previous DLCs had unique creatures from the new zones as pets whereas Morrowind comes with an armored dog (pre-order) we already had previously, and a Dwarven Spider (collector's edition) which is even attainable in-game. Heck, my beta monkey is more unique than either of those.

This one time I was looking forward to buy the biggest bundle, because I love the Dunmer so much. But as it stands, there is nothing Dunmeri in either the pre-order bonus or collector's edition.
I'm just glad I bought the Kagouti when it was in the store.

Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

It is not a Dunmer horse.
It is not a Dunmer armor.
We don't know if Dwemer did eat horses.
    And this armor is Dwemer.

Well Vvardenfell is for TES III nostalgia... an armoured horse if for TES IV nostalgia? I'll still prefer my senche though.

It's the coolest mount I've ever seen in this game. Cool enough to make me consider the Collector's Edition just for the horse.

Funny enough, $30 is a good deal for a mount these days.

the reason i'm not buying the collector edition just because the mount and theres nothing interesting in there really, the mount looks ok, but too clunky and not as unique looking as i like it to be, just a horse lol

    I think it looks cool.
And... Silt strider is too huge for a mount anyways, and we already got Kagouti and Guar mounts (that are native to Morrowind).

Wouldn't have to be a Silt Strider, but something similar would be nice. A Nix-Horse? Kwama steed?
The Kagouti was a limited offer, but I hope for those who don't have it yet that it will be available again with the new Morrowind chapter.
And for pets, I'm sure they can find something appropriate on Vvardenfell. IIRC, there are no Kwama pets yet.

It just feels like a step back compared to previous DLCs.

My first reaction when I saw the horse was, "that's 500% better than a lot of mounts they've been charging thousands of crowns for lately".

I like it, and none of you complainers better get it ruined between now and launch!

I wish we had lots more horse armour and much less of this need for random animals or flashy "sports" versions like mindshriven. Horses make sense, some of the alternatives not so much.

But people seriously asked for horse armor! It was a few times on ESO live, and devs said no, definitely no.

Maybe they started to feel nostalgic while doing Morrowind :)

I'm glad I didn't buy the alliance themed horses and dogs, that would definitely make these ones seem pointless. (Also of the two I prefer these ones.) But I can't decide if I like the horse (and the other bits) enough to justify the extra £20 for the collectors edition.

It is disappointing it's not something more dunmer/Vvanderfell themed. Although technically if they wanted to go with a Morrowind nostalgia theme they'd disable mounts on the island and make us run everywhere while NPCs periodically taunt us by reminding us that horses are available on the mainland.

There is a reason there are no horses in "ES: Morrowind", its because horses will die there and they better serve as food for the natives.

I share the exact sentiment, OP.

    - White horse (horse, on Vvardenfell!) with random dwemer bits plastered on.

    - Black alliance dog, random dwemer bits on its head.

    - Dwemer spider, already obtainable in game.

    - Morag Tong converter what will, like the Imperial converter, forever pass on into oblivion due to not working on any items people actually wear.

    - Grey bear that has nothing to do with Vvardenfell or Morrowind.

Just seems like a huge opportunity wasted here. Why the pet and the mount that have nothing to do at all with Morrowind nor Dunmer? Why the strange mashup between frosty druids aka Warden and the volcanic island of Vvardenfell, the original game Morrowind and the Dunmer? This huge jumble between promoting the Warden class, your upcoming Dwemer gambling boxes and the Morrowind/Vvardenfell area just seems like a really bad idea. Had you included more Dunmer-centric and Morrowind-esque pets and mounts I'd have gone for the Collector's Edition. Now I'll just buy the base Morrowind expansion, and hope we will eventually see this more Morrowind-like cosmetics at a later point.

Horse armour esque content is the staple of the crown store. In fact, there's a lot worse on offer than some inane horse armour. Eyelashes, beards, eyelashes, motifs, foods, hats, eyelashes etc etc.
