Disappointed with mount coming with Morrowind.

I share the exact sentiment, OP.

    - White horse (horse, on Vvardenfell!) with random dwemer bits plastered on.

    - Black alliance dog, random dwemer bits on its head.

    - Dwemer spider, already obtainable in game.

    - Morag Tong converter what will, like the Imperial converter, forever pass on into oblivion due to not working on any items people actually wear.

    - Grey bear that has nothing to do with Vvardenfell or Morrowind.

Just seems like a huge opportunity wasted here. Why the pet and the mount that have nothing to do at all with Morrowind nor Dunmer? Why the strange mashup between frosty druids aka Warden and the volcanic island of Vvardenfell, the original game Morrowind and the Dunmer? This huge jumble between promoting the Warden class, your upcoming Dwemer gambling boxes and the Morrowind/Vvardenfell area just seems like a really bad idea. Had you included more Dunmer-centric and Morrowind-esque pets and mounts I'd have gone for the Collector's Edition. Now I'll just buy the base Morrowind expansion, and hope we will eventually see this more Morrowind-like cosmetics at a later point.

As I said in another thread, it seems to me they wanted to sweeten the deal of the expansion without too much work, so they reactivated the Warden class from alpha. Now they can claim it's more than a (albeit large) DLC because it comes with a "new" class.
I'm almost certain they will add at least new pets of Vvardenfell creatures to the Crown Store later on, which makes this issue just more confusing. It's almost like they don't want us to buy the the collector's edition, and wait for the actual Morrowind stuff to release in the store.
I have to say the mount does not appeal to me in any way.

But then I am very picky about mounts.

    All The Best

It's not even that it's a terrible mount. It's not my thing, but it's fine.
The issue is that it's taking the place where something more fitting should be.

Same with the pets. I like my Razak's Opus, but why is a pet I can get in-game for free part of a collector's edition? Just because it has blue runes on it?

I had a cured horse meat calzone in venice once. I don't recommend it, it was really chewy and salty.

raw horse meat in Japan... yumyum :)

Yeah I get what they're doing from a marketing perspective, it's like "whoah, we have big lands coming for you, and a new class, and some pvp stuff - this is huge!".

Personally I would have rather they kep the Warden thing away from the Morrowind expansion and focus fully on Vvardenfell instead, in terms of the Collector's Edition goodies, Crown Store stuff and promotion. For me, and I guess for other Morrowind/Dunmer fanatics, this weird mix is just putting me off handing them more money. Aside from the base expansion itself, there's really nothing tempting about the extra goodies, so I'll just wait till eventually things trickle into the Crown Store. For now, my Kagouti mount will suffice.

Oh, I do like the book that's coming with the physical collector's edition though. Not so much the robot statuette. Guess I'll have to get a hold of the book separately eventually. They tend to end up at Amazon and Ebay after a while.

Imagine if it was something like a horse-shaped Dwemer construct mount; all mechanical with steam coming out of the nostrils.

Fear not, Dwemer Crown Crates are coming in March.

Probably later, March will see the release of Wild Hunt Crates.

Well the only ingame mounts you can obtain are horses so what else would you ride if you hadn't spent crowns?
