Most of us will buy them for the achievement reasons or not participate. Since there is no mechanical benefit. All this will do is shift seeing /emote used in towns.

I think it sounds like a fun idea and when it comes out I'll probably have fun playing around with it, but I really think it's going to destroy this game. Everyone is going to be playing house in their own private spaces instead of interacting in the open world. It's going to get harder to find people to take on anchors and world bosses.
Because having to deal with mindless 5-year-olds JUMPing around guild traders, or bored end-gamers posing on their stupidly large mounts covering NPCs, or stupid idiots dueling in crafting facilities or spamming AoEs in crowded spaces, etc., etc. is meaningful interaction?

I prefer my own private space where I can invite those I want to share down-time with, thanks. Can't wait to be rid of morons like these whenever possible.

Your derogatory "playing house" is noted.

Just want to say, this game isnt on the decline.

Zenimax is just making the mistakes other MMORPGs do, which is have too much content, and too many zones, that it makes it feel like game is dying because not everyone is queing up for that dungeon you are qued up for... Theres too many more options now.

Another mistake Zenimax is doing, is making player housing, just to say "we have housing too".
If your going to do player housing, GO BIG OR GO HOME. Don't just make housing, for the sake of housing. Everquest housing is more appealing than the housing your making Zenimax. Its 2017 its not 2002. Be innovative and make housing to showoff what MODERN DAY MMORPG housing is... Instead of Housing for the sake of housing.

Every other MMORPG has the same concepts you have. Your housing is rated 0 on the INNOVATIVE scale.
You should have just bought out EQ Landmark, because those guys were tooooo INNOVATIVE that the game was no longer affordable.

Again, this game isnt on decline, they just make same mistakes MMORPGs make again and again.
They think only way to make people happy is by keep adding more and more content. They lack people that think 'outside the box'.

Guess what guys???? A new zone!!! Guess whats going with WoW??? A zone!!! Guess what is going on with GW2??? A new zone!!!
Thats all we know how to do... A new zone!!!

5 years later, too many zones too many people spread out, illusion of game is dying occurs.
My tip of advice, add more life to current zones. Try and stick with 1 new zone a year. Focus on getting people to play together, because when it comes down to staying or leaving, its a lot harder to leave when you have friends and play together a lot. If you dont make the game friendly towards playing together with same people and making friends, your (MMO) RPG idea was a fluke. This isnt SoloRPG, its MMORPG. Make people want to play together. Make guilds actually mean something, because every MMORPG, guilds dont mean ***.

Thats the white space on your opportunity matrix, being in a guild mean something.
Right now with a lot of MMORPGs its, raid with guild, and then don't even associate with them later.

People will get bored of housing within hours and realize that there is no real reason to play for months.

I kinda think it's cool how some achievements will now reward you with some accent piece, further telling the story of your character.

I only went on to the PTS shortly to see how the editor works, otherwise I don't want to spoil too much for myself.

Destroy? I've seen far more people being excited to RETURN to ESO.

If anything, Housing will simply increase the player population. Many people really -really- underestimate the pull and the drive Housing actually has on people.

Most people underestimate the terrible grind connected to housing and how it will work for new/returning players too mate,

    Another "Decline of ESO" thread?

Housing is the LEAST of our worries. They didn't make anything tied to housing appealing enough to keep people interested for more than an afternoon of diversion and a bit of almost non existent RP.

There is virtually no reason to decorate or stay in your home at all.

There are 1,001 reasons that ESO can fail, but Housing isn't one of them.

Dude, I found 2 ERPs having *** in an inn just 2 days ago.
    I see RPs every day.

ERP is a whole different dog.

I see RP every day too. VERY small population in comparison to the greater general population. Yes, you saw a handful of people RPing. How many did you see NOT RPing?

I disagree. I think most of housing will be for guild houses, and for the test dummies especially on counsel to test dps.

Wtf is playing house? There's but so much you can do in that damn place.

Reward? You still must buy it for a large piece of gold: 10-50 000 of gold for 1 single trashy deco item you "earned" fro achievement. All dat housing system just a large money sucking wapor.

One has to remember though, that banks and player housing are two completely separate monsters. In the bank you're still registered in that specific instance of that specific zone. Those zones are made to 'handle' that kind of traffic. I put handle in quotes because it's still not handling very well.

When you have a system that isn't tied with zones off on it's own, along with a pretty powerful furnishing editor? There's bound to be performance issues with that and that's Homestead's biggest pitch. Ruin the performance of that and it's pretty much a failed update. It's not the load on us, it's the load on them (watering it down because I'm not gonna defend it).

Back-end implementation restrictions and limitations are something that they needed to deal with prior to rolling out Homestead, not something that they should decide to address at their earliest convenience, if that soon, after Homestead was released. As a customer, I really don't care what their back end challenges are.

Housing is a highly requested feature that has high customer expectations. They are not delivering what they need to deliver to make Homestead a system that has value, even if there is more work to do. They are releasing a Phase 1 framework, with no word on when Phase 2 is coming, if ever.

Based on what I have seen, and based on the lack of anything from them that would change this, I have to give them a "does not meet basic customer expectations" for Homestead. I question whether ZOS has the backing to implement big projects like this, in a reasonable amount of time, in a way that would meet basic customer expectations.

If Homestead is any measure, I stand quivering in fear over what they are going to do to Vvardenfell. This is another highly requested feature with high customer expectations.

I was looking at the trashy statues for 75000.

Look at it like reputation - you are now allowed to buy it, others are not. Just saying it's not uncommon.

I absolutely disagree. Houses will cost gold, gold will be spent, players will need more. How do they earn gold? They go outside. Unlike in real life, people actually tend to go do things in video games outside their houses. Sure, the first week may be empty, but we shall rejoice in the lagless major cities for that week until they all come back in one mass horde. Plus, they need to do writs.
May the Schwartz be with you.

I think housing is what they need as the game has to find ways to be competitive with upcoming mmos. Im not sure if everyone will just play house, but there will be some short term popularity.

It fits a niche of players. Personally i like pvp, but there are crafters who are bored and rpers who will have another dynamic to the game. If you look at some of the 2017 mmos coming out, zos needs to figure out how to be creative to not only keep old and new players.

Next, with the next dlc, I would like to see player crafted cities that fend off ways of mobs for a reward. Fallen earth had this and it was really popular

How is it going to be guild anything with the player caps on how many can be in the house at once? I think it is 12 on large and 24 on manors?

So no these will not be guild houses, unless you have the smallest guilds in eso.

I agree.. It ruined WoW when they got garrisons.

Instead they should get some emergent gameplay in, people will entertain themselves with some proper sandbox elements.

I think you may be worrying a little bit prematurely. Shall we let it get released before the decline of ESO is declared?

I think housing will be a gimmick a lot of people try, but once people have had a play in their lifeless homes they will decide to play the actual game instead.

No we cant, its much more fun to think you are the messenger of doom, and bad news gets more attention than good news.

Oh Lord, here we go. Always the " its the end of this MMO because of x". They said the same thing about LOTRO for years and it's still going 10 years later(I have a lifetime sub and rarely play any more, but still). I for one am very looking forward to housing. IMO I think it's an enhancement. It's simple. Don't like housing ? Don't use it!

Housing will make people to be out in the world more than now.

You need to farm mats for furniture/find plans for it.
You need achievements because you want that great statue or tree. I bet number of Master Anglers this year will be more than previous because people will want that boat.
You need money to buy all above.

You still need to go to city to access traders and writs, so all crafters alts will still be parked in Craglorn and Rawk'la.

Only thing exciting about housing is a practice dummy. Also will be available in the Crown store without a doubt.
Why else would be getting the tokens be such a grind.

I'm calling it now it will be 5k Crowns minimal like assistants .
