Doubtful. I am yet to see an mmo be destroyed by the addition of housing. Why would the vast majority of players who play eso for pvp/pve, suddenly give that up to play Sims Light 24/7?

Housing is the LEAST of our worries. They didn't make anything tied to housing appealing enough to keep people interested for more than an afternoon of diversion and a bit of almost non existent RP.
There is virtually no reason to decorate or stay in your home at all.
There are 1,001 reasons that ESO can fail, but Housing isn't one of them.

Why would you need others for Dark Anchors and world bosses?

Yes, I am aware that was said. Potentially because of the mix with the 200 custom items that will have to be loaded ...
but seeing (without counting) at least 50 people at the bank in Rawl'kha makes me wonder why that is not crashing.
Perhaps I'm spoiled because I did get a better computer and I don't have an issue with loading anymore.

One has to remember though, that banks and player housing are two completely separate monsters. In the bank you're still registered in that specific instance of that specific zone. Those zones are made to 'handle' that kind of traffic. I put handle in quotes because it's still not handling very well.
When you have a system that isn't tied with zones off on it's own, along with a pretty powerful furnishing editor? There's bound to be performance issues with that and that's Homestead's biggest pitch. Ruin the performance of that and it's pretty much a failed update. It's not the load on us, it's the load on them (watering it down because I'm not gonna defend it).
That's for another topic though.
