Not even that, what about the people who want to group up and contribute to a home together? Craft the items. Or what about a group of people who roleplay and want to each design their own room in a large house?DigitalShibby wrote: »I think there is a good reason why people can't. There's a lot of scenarios in which giving guests a permission to place items would be greatly appreciated.
The suggested permission to be granted above "decorator" should clearly state the risk and only be given to people you fully trust, such as real friends, partners, or family.

an obvious solution springs to mind, a new permission level that does allow the other person/people to place items, but they retain ownership of the item.
so if person A buys the home and they break up IRL with person B who decorated the home (lets assume its a bad break-up) person A revokes access to person B, all furnishings & decorations are therfore automatically removed from person A's home and sent to person B through the mail. person B also has the right to remotley remove all furnishing from any home they have placed items in at any time (should person A not revoke permission but person B has no desire to visit person A in game)
consider it like a pre-nup!

That seems a little harder to code, but more safe for those who invest in another player's home and get locked out.
I would prefer a more simple implementation to allow other players to place items in other homes before the PTS ends.

When you press F5 by default, and then go to the menu to place items, there will be 4 tabs on the top right. One of them handles permissions.cyberjanet wrote: »Can someone enlighten me where to find these permissions? I can't find them anywhere obvious.
Well, unless you pay crowns or buy from the vendor directly, most items require crafting. The owner of the house must also be the one to be handed all recipes for furniture, all materials, and everything else associated.Bryanonymous wrote: »Why can't they just give the items to you and you place them in the center of the room for them to move?
The other player I granted permission to is completely unable to place any items, furniture, plants, anything at all. They do not have the option anywhere.
They can only move around existing items.
If this is intended, can we please have a 3rd permission above decorator? A permission to allow them to place any item not related to achievements, collectibles, mounts, crown store, and so on?
I, along with many others, would really appreciate an option to allow other players to place items in our homes as if we own it together.
For example. A bunch of low level friends could collectively pool gold to buy a large house or manor. But only the person who takes the gold to purchase it can add anything? The owner must place items for the friends to move around, instead of the friends decorating the house at their own will?
Another example, a couple in a relationship plays ESO. They want to have a house they can own together and both modify at their own pace. But whichever of the two purchases the house is the only one to control the rate at which it gets decorated.
I strongly request this feature if the decorator truly does not allow it.
Granting another player permission to your household is a much more personal basis than a guild rank permission.so we get another QQ about people ruining other people's houses... similar to guild banks theft
The same functionality is used in guild stores - if you get booted from a guild, everything you have up for sale gets sent back to you as expired in the mail.puffytheslayer wrote: »This is not something that effects me directly but i appreciate the importance it has for others.

I couldn't agree morececibergesnrb18_ESO wrote: »Please Zenimax, consider upgrading the decorator status like the OP said... The most fun in housing is when you share it with friends!
I'm not sure that's the reason why. For there is a simple solution if such was a problem...NewBlacksmurf wrote: »...
No one is addressing the item limits which is why the decorator can't add stuff
