The "Decorator" permission in Homestead needs to do more.

The other player I granted permission to is completely unable to place any items, furniture, plants, anything at all. They do not have the option anywhere.

They can only move around existing items.

If this is intended, can we please have a 3rd permission above decorator? A permission to allow them to place any item not related to achievements, collectibles, mounts, crown store, and so on?

I, along with many others, would really appreciate an option to allow other players to place items in our homes as if we own it together.

For example. A bunch of low level friends could collectively pool gold to buy a large house or manor. But only the person who takes the gold to purchase it can add anything? The owner must place items for the friends to move around, instead of the friends decorating the house at their own will?

Another example, a couple in a relationship plays ESO. They want to have a house they can own together and both modify at their own pace. But whichever of the two purchases the house is the only one to control the rate at which it gets decorated.

I strongly request this feature if the decorator truly does not allow it.

This is not something that effects me directly but i appreciate the importance it has for others.

an obvious solution springs to mind, a new permission level that does allow the other person/people to place items, but they retain ownership of the item.
so if person A buys the home and they break up IRL with person B who decorated the home (lets assume its a bad break-up) person A revokes access to person B, all furnishings & decorations are therfore automatically removed from person A's home and sent to person B through the mail. person B also has the right to remotley remove all furnishing from any home they have placed items in at any time (should person A not revoke permission but person B has no desire to visit person A in game)
    consider it like a pre-nup!

That seems a little harder to code, but more safe for those who invest in another player's home and get locked out.

I would prefer a more simple implementation to allow other players to place items in other homes before the PTS ends.

i appriciate it is something that is harder to code, but maybe it would be worth waiting for, for the peace of mind/security of all players!

The current implementation does sound limiting. My intent is to buy a large house or mansion and move in with a friend, but I'd not do this if they could not have the level of control the OP desires, which seems entirely reasonable.

From the comments coming back from PTS players about this, lack of storage etc., it feels like housing may be released in something of an unfinished state. I imagine ZOS will quickly develop it however, as it's clearly something that's highly monetisable, so I might hold off getting a house until it's a bit more useful.

    100% agree.

I had planned on doing this with some guildmates of mine. If only the homeowner is allowed to add/delete items, then I'm not sure it could even work out. Definitely a let down.

Why can't they just give the items to you and you place them in the center of the room for them to move?

You have guild banks with risks I don't see any difference with homes. I have one friend I'd happily share a guild bank with after his guild who came from destiny all stopped playing. It's only us too We can put everything in ther tempers, wax, alchemy ingredients. I was annoyed we could not get a house together, would be happy to give extended permissions. Sometimes I work or he does one of us has a break. its inconvient to come back on to do something for the other as there may be a 20 gig download for example.

I really don't mind what he does I mean If he wants to die all my stuff blue and fill a room with sweet rolls let him later on If he takes stuff that's my fault, for giving him permission. But ultimately as we are grown ups and friends we don't go out of our way to p...s each other off - or we wouldn't be friends sharing stuff in the first place.
I ultimately would like storage to get our stuff out of a guild bank ( I'd like the guild slot back) and just share a house.
I'm sure others would like immersion too.

Can someone enlighten me where to find these permissions? I can't find them anywhere obvious.

Yes please. I also could not find any way to place things. Last night I bought a couple of houses on PTS and was very disappointed I couldn't bring out a mount or pet. I also could not interact with any objects after selecting the "furnished" option.

When you press F5 by default, and then go to the menu to place items, there will be 4 tabs on the top right. One of them handles permissions.
Why can't they just give the items to you and you place them in the center of the room for them to move?
Well, unless you pay crowns or buy from the vendor directly, most items require crafting. The owner of the house must also be the one to be handed all recipes for furniture, all materials, and everything else associated.

Also, having to pre-drop items doesn't really allow for much spontaneous ideas or imagination.

100% agree. Should be able to say that people co share so they have 100% the same permissions.

I want my sweetrolls to be touched and moved around freely by others if I so wish as well as have them place their sweetrolls on and around me and my stuff.

Granting another player permission to your household is a much more personal basis than a guild rank permission.

People who claim to clear guild banks do it to steal as well, you can't steal items placed in another house.

I agree that there should be the option to give people permission to craft items... i do not see why i Should bother buying a manor or a crown exclusive one if i can not turn it into a guild hall...

The same functionality is used in guild stores - if you get booted from a guild, everything you have up for sale gets sent back to you as expired in the mail.

While this would be nice, it probably isn't the easiest thing for them to code so that it doesn't include bound items. You can just give the items to the other person, but it is a pain that they have to be around to move the items.

I personally would prefer if they created a sort of storage for items in a house so that a:you don't have to be around for a decorator to change what items are showing in your house as long a you have already put that item in the house's inventory, and b:it would help a ton with the amount that this is going to completely screw over everyone's inventories with all the new furniture items we'll be forced carrying around. It would still require the home owner to be around for when the item is first added to the inventory, but afterward the homeowner wouldn't need to be there for every addition and subtraction of an item.

As it is right now the only use I've found for having decorator permissions in someone else's house is to troll them by stacking furniture on them so they can't move

Yes, please. My husband and I want to buy a house together and have it as our in-game home. We both want to craft for it and furnish it. If that is not possible, housing is going to seem pretty limited to us. Not having any in-house storage is bad enough! (None of the many MMOs I've played have lacked storage in one's house--extra storage is one of the prime reasons to invest in a house).

Just pretend it's a real house....friends buy gifts and have them shipped to your house via mail.
You open the mail, put it together and place it in your house.

No one is addressing the item limits which is why the decorator can't add stuff.
The owner could just leave a bunch of stuff in a corner that needs to be put up (like moving into a new place when friends are asked to come help).

I'm not sure that's the reason why. For there is a simple solution if such was a problem...
If the home is at the limit: no one can add any more furnishings.
If it isn't; anyone with the appropriate permissions can.

It's the way it works in other MMOs with such options, and could work just as fine here too.
If you can be anything, be kind.
