This community is really toxic

This is a massive rant so if you don't want to read it then read someone else's post.

First off I'd like to say that I really didn't mind the game during shadow of hists. When they added the chat system it was such a relief. I play on AD and I must say I am really glad I made my characters AD because the people on EP are extremely toxic. DC is fine and has more mature players. But then I decide to make an EP character for gaming community purposes. So here I am you know leveling through stonefalls and then I ask a very simple question and 5 people start attacking me and calling me a scrub and I didn't even do anything wrong. So you know what I did? I deleted the character despite the fact that I wasn't supposed to but I don't care because I don't want to subject myself to being trolled. If I ask a question in my own server on DC I don't feel as pressured. I have a short temper and I will get angry enough to respond which is something I feel I should have more control over. Long story short AD and DC are more mature members and EP is just a bunch of edgy teenagers that have little to no respect for anybody in this game.

Now let's move onto PvP. Oh boy I have to literally turn the zone chat off every now and then because I get so sick and tired of hearing players call each other scrubs and talk about exposing them on their Youtube channel. Just today I walked up to a guy (never met this guy before ever) and asked him if he could spare a vampire bite and then he starts saying "1v1 me scrub so I can expose you on my Youtube channel". Again never met this guy before and he is being really rude to me. I don't go full trigger mode in this instance. The worst part is I was on a level 6 character so yeah he just makes himself look even worse. I didn't mind shadow of hists because I did not have to deal with EP and their shenanigans.

I've played this game since about a month after it came out on consoles. I wish I would have played on PC because I sometimes get the feeling that their aren't as many people like this. I'm beginning to find more posts like this so I just wanted to express my frustration. I personally do not like this update and them merging alliances but some people do. I really like that they added 18 more armor sets even though like 12 of them are really useless.

there is alot of narcissism in this game. the same player that called you a scrub will more than likely be the first on the forums to complain about a nerf or some random bs. In short, players like that will always think about themselves.

But to the subject. All Alliances are extremely toxic. Just be unbothered by these kids in-game. If you took the time to look these people up online you'd end up like "wtf did I really just waste my time and energy on this fugly person" *In my Regina George voice* lol. That's what I tell myself every time to just not care about what some random person say. And it works

AD is mature adults. I'm pretty sure I know you from the PS4. I don;t play PvP anyways because it is so unfair the way you die in PvP, get rooted, CC'd as a sorcerer when shields are down, or just get zerged/bursted down. It gets boring.

I never had this bipolar behavior from the zone chat until this update.

Sounds like a EP player, again. Most fellow vamps I see that hang around shrines tend to just give out bites like candy on Halloween. No charge nor requirements, they'll just bit anyone who isn't a vamp there.

Not saying there aren't jerks in other factions, there are some in AP and DC too. But EP tends to have the most conglomeration of them. The developers can't do much as they can't force players to be nice to one another. The best thing they can do to solve this problem is reward players who are friendly to one another.

For example:
They could start with the bites as there has been a decline in players handing out bites recently. It would be nice if the person who bites other players can receive some kind of ingame reward for doing so, like access to new gear given only to vampires who bite a certain quota of people which can be sold at blood matrons crypt or something.

When just about every death recap is from an invisible wuss and says vipers sting, ambush, incap strike I fail to see the point of continuing to be involved. I'll just casually farm away in PvE enjoying myself honestly

There was sort of a survey / discussion in the forums a few months ago for PC NA and last when I read, the consensus was pretty similar to OP's observation.

AD and DC are pretty chill, with AD consisting of the more laid back and mature crowd. EP has some exemplary players but they are the minority with a large chunk of EP population being aggressive and uneccesarily rude. Don't know why that tends to be the case, at the end of the day we're all here to have fun, help each other out and enjoy the game. Never understood why some players would initiate insults and rage towards others. They probably have serious real life issues or have yet to mature psychologically and emotionally.

Back to OP, I hope you meet less of those idiots and in the event that you do, just ignore them. Peace and happiness to all.

Too many Skyrim fanboys. That's all I can think of for some reason. The Nords were not nice people in Skyrim and I worked with the Imperials.

You just need to grow a thicker skin and not get triggered so much. I mean it is just a game!
When someone says something i dont like i either:
a) Troll them back and offer to mail them a stack of Bernie Sanders stickers
b) Ignore them or move on, leave zone
c) Invite them to an all khajiiti ERP guild

I can't. I have over a year of progress on Playstation. I heard it was the same on PC and Xbox is the definition of aids. If I could at least transfer over my costumes and my characters I would.

That's not the reason, without a doubt. The more likely reasoning is that EP is the most enthusiastic about PvP and competition than the other factions. Take a google search here and there and you'll find that most of the toxicity stems from PvP players or players who are too enthusiastic about competition. Even on this very thread you can find this pattern.

Now while I understand that there are players who pvp and do not act like this. It's pretty much a given that most of those players who are enthusiastic about PvP tend to be rather toxic towards their fellows. It's the same pattern in all games and not restricted to just mmos. So again, this isn't a issue with being "a skyrim fanboy" but more of a issue with the human psyche of those who care more for competition than anything.

Ah well then, I have played since closed beta on PC and only here and then do I find some really toxic people, MP games bring in all sorts of the human spectrum.

What you hear is only subjective to other peoples experiences, you are on console, maybe being elitist here, but the scumbag demographic will always be highest on console, not to say PC does not have its bad apples but it is what it is

Maybe you should edit your OP to reflect console community is really toxic.

Everyone always says the same thing about the three Xbox NA Alliances. "EP are immature, DC are more mature & AD are the nicest."

Game (Color actually) theory actually says that Yellows would be more apt to be free/outside the box thinkers. Reds would be more aggressive, less logical & have the greatest numbers. And Blues would be the most serious, clinical & competitive.

So maybe there's a bit of method to the madness. xD

Agree with OPs observation.

Its actually a pretty interesting phenomena, how the demographic of players drawn to each faction is reflected in the overall faction experience on a player level.

Just go to any starter zone for any of the factions, and you see the OPs sentiment clearly reflected in zone chart.

I play EP on PC/NA and I love it. However, with that being said, I'm not one to get involved in chat or groups too much. There was some serious UNCOOL chatting going on earlier tonight though. I don't know who the people were since I keep my socializing to a bare minimum and I wouldn't say even if I did, but the topic was very disturbing. I've played all the way through EP and DC, but only part way through AD. The only place I've been made to feel uncomfortable is EP.

Anyway, just rise above it. There are all sorts of levels of maturity, regardless of age.

You know when I found out you played on console, it all finally made sense for me. I have had a damn good experience on PC, cant imagine what it would be like on console. Having all consoles I know exactly how toxic it can be, sadly it is just the way things have become.

Here's another thing that really triggers me and needs to be fixed right now: If you block someone you can still see what they're saying. The moment you log out and then log back in again is the moment it resets and this is very frustrating because I can seem to turn on ignore. What the hell?

I guess you don't understand every game PC and PS4 has toxic players outside of ESO...find a guild that's your best bet to find a solid community of players that support you and can be fun. Your bound to run into *** in zone chat
