You have to craft it because it's not a real apple.
You have to craft it because it's not a real apple.
If they want us to craft it, at least do it in a way that make sense. Foods should NOT come from style motifs, runes, and tempers! Foods should be grown and/or cooked. Recipes for provisioning make sense. But some of these furnishing recipes are all kinds of crazy.

This poster mentioned a recipe for a display-only food item that needs nickels, kutas, and other items. Or you can buy it for 400 crowns (since this is a purple item). Low-level items like display-only apples cost 50 crowns each, but I haven't seen the recipe. I imagine it would also require style motifs and runes, maybe of less amount. And of course, you still have to find the recipe first. That is just too much work for too little return. And of course, you gotta have food in the home. If I can't do a simple thing like putting simple food items in my home, then I can't have a home. Then I'll just avoid Homestead altogether. I'm up to CP170, so I have shown that I'm willing to spend effort and cost to do things. But only non-stupid things.

I saw that post, and immediately assumed they were exaggerating. We need screenshots of the recipes to actually know what's what.

I just found this recipe for a display-only food item that needs 5 nickels, 2 decorative wax (furnishing ingredient?), 2 potatoes, and 20 flour. Higher-level recipes undoubtedly requires hard-to-farm ingredients, so maybe they do require high-level runes and tempers. All this is just an artificial means to raise the difficulty of crafting furnishing items (even the most common things) so we would spend major effort and cost on Homestead.
