Elitists are like social justice warriors. You can tell them to STFU but they will still strive to have an argument with you regarding something that's not mandatory

In this case, most of the players just seek to complete the said dungeon and have fun after stressful real life has been taken care of, we don't need some elitist rear end start their pathetic grandstanding and telling us to stress about our builds when they actually are just fine and can complete the dungeon with no wipes even if it isn't your min/max cheesebuild.

You can't behave like this anywhere else out of the game. This kind of behavior isn't acceptable and you should be purposefully kicked from the group for being a jerk.

I was thinking the same thing about the "I do what I want" crowd. Have you actually read the skill lines? Do you know what they were designed for?

I still have yet to see any explanation for how wearing heavy armor as a DPS is somehow a play style. At best it allows you to hybrid as a tank if the group can't actually find a tank, or it's purely for cosmetic reasons. You just like the way it looks so forget about the skill lines attached to the armor types? Form over function?

At the end of the day, it all boils down to the fact that each armor type has a skill line with a specific focus. Heavy armor is all about taking hits, not about dealing damage. The only damage boost you get from it comes from consistently taking damage, and that boost is nothing compared to what you get from the other skill lines.

It's all right there in the tool tips. Until zenimax gets rid of the armor skill lines, this is the conversation that people are going to continue to have.

To the legion of players still queuing for dungeons as DPS in heavy armor...
    Please, stop.
Put on some light or medium armor.
You are not a special little snowflake with a unique build.
You just take up space and slow every one else down.
    That is all.

It is continuously amusing how certain people can dictate what others should do, wear/equip, or how to play (for ESO.) So prejudice and ignorant some can be. This "snowflake" DPS with his heavy armor and "2H without taunt (because he is a DPS and not a tank!)" solos dungeons, even vet (those without needing another to interrupt, of course) just fine, even without dying going through the entire run. This snowflake with his heavy armor does fine soloing world boss pits, even in the DLC areas, even without dying. This snowflakes, with his heavy armor, have carried and respawned others so many times in dungeons and world boss pits when other non-heavy armor players are dying left and right.

As least you said "Please." That is kind of you, though. So, I will return the gesture in kind. Those who continuously slam/bash others who wear heavy armor or uses 2H, "Please" stop being so ignorant and so prejudice. This is a game! We pay money every month to play and enjoy this game. Everyone is entitled to play and enjoy this game their own way. If you don't like it, don't queue and select/pick your own group within a guild or start one with the requirement that members do not wear heavy armor or carry a 2H. You can't queue for a random group and expect others to be what you want. That is so ridiculous!

When I play with my purple item Stam Sorc (5 tbs , 5 vo , 2 agility daggers , random bow) I do about 35k DPS in pledges , single target . It is pretty low so I prefer not to play with it because it would be holding group back . I come here . Read about people doing 20k and calling themselves great . Wow . I always wanted to say this . Ehm ehm . Are you ready ?

IF you are doing 35k DPS you have sufficient damage to do every single vet dungeon and normal trials. You are bordering on the damage needed as a DD in Vet Trials. 20k damage is sufficient for 95% of the content in this game.

No offense, but you are extremely elitist if you think 35k is low. Especially since you are running VO.

It's even more ridiculous that people try to turn this into some kind of moral argument. Is it really to much to ask that people use the right tools for the job?

You wouldn't use a flat head screwdriver to torque down a Phillips head screw. You will end up stripping it. Why get all bent out of shape when people say to stop using tanking gear for dps?

The game tells you what the equipment does, so it's not like we're waxing intellectual over some vague philosophical conundrum. The information is literally in writing.

Play how you want but use the right tool for the job, or deal with people getting annoyed with you for slowing them down. They paid for the game too.

This post really does more to underpin the OP's case than anything else; you're citing situational examples where being 'tanky' is a valid trade-off for weak DPS, because you need the survivability when running solo. We all sacrifice at least one DPS bar slot when soloing a vet dungeon, we may even put on heavy (or at least non-crit focussed) armour for some bosses when soloing some vet content. We do this as an educated choice when we only need to think of ourselves, we don't do it when we need to make educated choices viz thinking about others in a group situation.

That's really all the OP is saying; fill your boots when alone, but be mindful of your role in the group.

Hmm . I think my DPS is low because my friends do between 50-60k single target in pledges . Tell me , how am I supposed to feel about this ? How do these people should feel when someone pulls 3 times more DPS than themselves ? Put yourself in this situation . Would you still feel like you are doing good DPS ? Don't think so .

Wow [snip] people who want the make the game wow are still bitching about heavy armor despite all the evidence that it's not that big of a deal and is a viable build in some cases.

Honestly this is why I create not join pugs and always have the numbers on my side to kick the loudmouth l2p kids

Responses citing solo prowess and so forth.

You don't queue for a "Solo".

    You queue for a "Group".

If it helps - use the word "Team", that is what it is.

    Team.

When you are on a team you put the team first. It is just as simple as that. But, shrug. Wear what you like, but its simply rude to put your own convenience and style above the time and experience of others. That really is just what it comes down to. Some things in this life just work a certain way, and playing roles in dungeon groups rather than hybrids is what works best. Just is what it is, same as centers and forwards or any number of ecamples in sports.

    Esse quam videri.

Why do you have to insist that everyone min/maxes cheesebuilds? So what if someone uses heavy armor and 2H if they are enough for you to last through the dungeon. They are ENOUGH and that is all that should matter.

If you had a bottle of soda but no bottle opener would you wait until you can go buy one from a shop or would you get creative and open the bottle with your hands or the tip of the dining knife you have on your table?

You people are so weird or maybe you all just think that anything less than PERFECT is insufficient and imperfect people should feel bad for themselves for being that way. There are many people who simply don't care if it is the most efficient way. What matters is that they are having fun.

    Get off your high horse.

To be honest, that sounds more than a little dangerous so I'd probably order a bottle opener from Amazon and drink tap water until it arrived. I haven't got a clue what that means as a dungeon metaphor.

This is just...a bad, bad analogy...

There are tons of the right equipment in the game for each group role. No one is lacking for the right gear.

If you really want this soda bottle business to resemble TESO it should be more like:

"You have a drawer full of bottle openers, but instead you decide to grab a dining knife and stab at the bottle cap because you think it makes you look cool."
