It's almost Christmas. Buy it with your refund money. ;)

In all seriousness, don't buy it if you don't have the money or don't agree with the price. You're wasting your own time complaining about it. First, the blue cat mount, then the crown crates, now the elk. It's all cosmetic items. It doesn't do anything other than make your character look "cool". If you really want it, buy it, but don't complain about cosmetic item prices. It's just silly.

I'm just glad this game isn't going P2W. That's what makes it a great game.

Meanwhile, at ZOS: "Remember those times when hundreds of our devs created expansion packs like Orsinium with dozens of hours of new content and lands to explore, and we charged 3000 Crowns for them? Turns out we can get away with charging 50% more for 100000000000% less! Players will literally spend anything we ask on a single mount!"

Is this REALLY the message you want to send to ZOS? Dro-m'Athra mount, Crown Crates, and now this Elk, are testing the waters. Use your wallet to vote for the content you want them to work on. They won't look at the forums to make these decisions, they'll look at their quarterlies and their profit margins.

It's a business and they're looking to drive revenue.

The mount is a fantastic idea since it's cheap revenue which helps support the creation of content like you mentioned.

Fantastic idea and really pointless to complain about it other than just to rage. It's the sales of the mount, or lack of them that matter. Not a a comment in this thread.

This is simple price gouging. I was ready to fork out up to 3k Crowns but hoping it was closer to 2k. I absolutely cannot support this type of pricing. When we release our video review of the mount it will be the most negative ESO video we've ever made.

I admit that I never watch your videos, but 4500 Crowns is a big issue in the game for you? If that is the case, then you might want to consider that you are about to make a positive review of ESO.

Another person made a similar comment when talking about the size of the elk legs, and it made me stop to think. With the lag, and the disconnects, and the hangs, and Cyrodiil performance, and procs, and Crown Crates, and all of that, it turns out to be 4500 Crowns for an Elk mount that really gets you going?

If true, that, by itself, says volumes about how good the rest of the game is. That makes your negative review a testament to how good the game is.

Now, I am not saying that I approve of the price. I have not purchased the Great Elk. I am just saying that when I stack the 4500 Crown price up against the whole game, it isn't even close to the dislike I have for the Crown Crates. At least the 4500 Crown price is an honest, if inflated, price.

    Sub and save crowns?

I've got like 27,000 of them hanging around. Or pick up crowns on sale?

I get that the price is high, that's not a debate. 4,500 crowns for a mount is certainly excessive. But they wouldn't charge it if people weren't paying it.

Here's the deal, with crown crates / extremely unecessarily expensive mounts and costumes, this game is selecting for the people that will just pay the most when it comes to its cash shop. 4500 is a $50 purchase for those that aren't subbed or actually pick up a thing or two from the crownstore that are subbed. That's insane. No mount should ever be worth that much. - That's 3 months subscription, a whole other video game (for pc), a dinner for two... but for an electronic make believe mount? Come on ZOS...

Of course people will pay, but that's not an excuse for a company to abuse it's powers. How much more would they have made and kept their fanbase happy if they put this mount up for the usual 2500 purchase most mounts have been at? All they're doing with these changes to the store is pissing off the fanbase that WOULD'VE spent money over the section of people that are spending money.

Straight up, these business practices are sickening.

Before those of you that want to holler "Don't buy!" or "Quit!" - that's not an appropriate response to players who WANT to play the game and don't mind shelling out some money here and there. No, I won't quit, and of course I won't buy that stupid mount - but the problem is still here. The only option I have is to come here and complain as a buying customer in hopes that they'll realize that they're going too far.

Seeing how little they seem to respond / care about cash shop issues, this is probably a waste of time, but I still love the Elder Scrolls franchise, and it's worth it to me to try.

    Really? WHEN?

Seems the last 3+ months have been about pushing out the gambling casino with little to no new original content whatsoever.

If they're going to charge more than the cost of the game for a single mount, do you think they might reinvest some of that revenue at least into fixing the constant stop-start that has plagued mount riding for years? Or how about the standing jump where your character lacks all forward momentum if there is a 2 foot object in front of them? Another major issue that has been in the game for years.

Exactly when should we expect some meaningful return on all this revenue you are so quick to excuse their greed for? One Tamriel is swell and all, but really it kinda reminds me of when you take a kids toy away for months then give it back and they honestly think they have a new toy.

I can't understand why the most expensive mount of all is also the only one to my knowledge that has no visual upgrade whatsoever. Count me very disappointed.

This is bothering me very much. It really makes no sense to price it so high and not even give it visual upgrades like all other mounts have.

Its a standard business tactic people, keep bumping up the price on items until it hits a ceiling where very few will buy. Back it back down to a point were the majority of people will buy it and leave it there. My opinion is that they will hit the ceiling on this one but it will come down to the people choosing to buy it or not, and I like that its pricey cause it makes it rare I wont buy one but at least there wont be a million of them running around. Also ESO plus I think is a good deal you have all the DLC plus 1500 crowns a month, if you were to play World of Warcraft you would pay 15$ a month just to play plus a new 50$ x-pack every 1-2 years.

Have people seriously lost any sense of reason here? I'm not even 30yrs old and I feel like my grandma complaining about gas prices!

So what if it's rare - IT'S NOT REAL! So what if your character could use it - THERE WILL BE MORE MOUNTS! How many people are still riding around with the last mount that came out? How long do you think that's going to last? You're enabling a company to gouge players all for a moment of shiny?

    Seriously... I'll never understand.

Meh. It really bothered me that the Elk was white, I wanted a brown Elk. I was still going to buy it and figured it would at most be 2,800-3,000 crowns.

I woke up this morning to see the Elk actually 4,500 crowns. Yah NOPE! ;P That's only 500 crowns less than all four DLC's combined.

I now read that the Elk has no special animation or cosmetic change for Stable upgrades. NOPE x2!

My bear mount is doing just fine. If the Elk was brown, I'd have a real decision on my hands.

It's because the most important thing in the world to some people, whale types mostly, is the ability to rub exclusivity in the faces of others, lord it over them, and feel better about themselves because of it, as if they had actually accomplished something.

Any live MMO has issues. I think that the ESO team has proved over time, that they are willing to listen to the community and make they actively work to make the game better. Cyrodiil performance, proc sets, disconnects, hangs and loading screens, are all things in which they are actively working on to make better. They even created a way to get the recipe for the new Xp potion In game, before adding it to crown crates. I applaude all of this.

Yes, 4500 for a mount "gets me going" as you say. It's an inflated price. I assume you meant "honest" as in you can buy it outright and not gamble to get it?

The pricing for this mount is so far afield of the other mounts prices, it feels very dishonest and as a consumer and supporter of the game I draw the line at what I consider dishonest and predatory practices.

    Well that's stupid.

I don't even look at other players unless it's to silently judge character designs. Who seriously gives a flying guar (there.. trying to be kid friendly since I'm censored /rollseyes) what another character has? Are people that insecure that they need something rare and shiny to stand out in a make-believe game that lets you stand out via skill / character design / accomplishment via ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GAME? Honestly, the rarest mounts I think would be the base horses b/c seldom would people ride them.

Me either TBH. It would be nice for example if addon authors could get some crowns tossed their way once in a while since it's not allowed for them to even ask for donations for the work they do.

Yeah. Nope. Not even an option for other players to gift them either.

But honestly, I think that's just another part of the greedy corporate culture that has metastasized in every aspect of society. Tough to see real progress ever being made when most people just line up to make excuses, or join in on it if they can.

Good, tbh at this point I"ll support any bs design that makes people take 2 seconds to think about their purchases. Also, I'm not just being nasty to the "other" players. The life's day hat made me stop and realize how stupid I was being with my money / crown. Honestly though, it was false advertising as they did not put up in the store that it wasn't dye-able, but after seeing you could basically get the hood in the game it made me stop and say "Wtf am I doing? Seriously?" If that's what people need to shake them out of this feverish "Ooh piece of candy!" then have at it ZOS! Bring all the terrible design decisions out in the open.

This is funny since those complain threads mean little compared to how well those items sold.

I know you're generalizing but I do think you may have misunderstood something.

The post isn't saying that mounts shouldn't be for sale via crowns. I thin that is fine.

    I'm saying:

-nothing for sale in the crown store should ever exceed the ESO plus crown amount. So nothing should be above 1500

-the in-game awards for cosmetic items should aesthetically be on par with crown only items
