If you have a group of friends, go into IC and look for flag fights.

On my lowbie toon we got into a small group (about 6-7) and fought against yellows and blues at a flag, got the kills AP and the defense ticks. It was about 4-7k a defense tick, and the fights were absolutely awesome!

Other than that, a resto staff is the best way.. and repair walls where you can.

Forget cheesing AP, go to IC and sneak around assassinating people. Test your (undaunted) mettle.

I'd recommend to pick all "kill X players" quests, type "LFG" in chat and follow the zerg while tagging everyone with a bow.
If you dont have any self-heals, potions of lingering health can help a bit (torchbug thorax+butterfly wing+scrib jelly).

You're still very low level. The higher levels you reach, the more you get to acquire better armor and weapon sets. When you finally reach CP, you will begin to use those CPs to boost your resistance (such as Hardy/Elemental) and dps factors in the constellation. Heck, I was still getting killed left and right until I was in the mid-300 CPs, particularly soloing world bosses. It wasn't until the 500 CPs where I had enough CPs to plus up my resistance factors, not to get 1-3 shots killed by a world boss. Survivability, particularly if soloing a world boss or in any dungeon or trial, require all good combination of armor/weapon set, good health/stam/majicka, higher resistance and dps, rejuvenation factors, and the ability to evade and getting hit less (particularly against vet level bosses.)

You will get there. It just take a while to get into the higher CPs to have enough to distribute the CPs effectively among those constellations/champion trees. Check out those how-to and build/CP guide youtube clips. There are lots of good clips showing/explaining how to get better builds and how to better distribute your attributes and CPs in the constellation, once you get those CPs.

It doesnt matter in pre-vet campaign (Blackwater), cps are disabled there. Crafted gear (or any gear around his lvl really) would help ofc.

is this considered a tough world boss?

I have been trying to solo hard world bosses (a guildy claimed some could not be done and that I must have done it before 1T) and if this one is one of the harder ones I might go give it a try.

Menhir is one of the hardest to solo, yes. He is a pushover if you are 2-manning it with a proper tank, but a royal pain to solo.

Any Boss can be soloed, the players who say they can't are just those who don't have the skill that is needed.

LOL. You know, not all world bosses are created equal. Many are pushovers. But some are exceptionally difficult. I've soloed Menhir on a magblade, so yes, it can be done. But I can't imagine a stamblade being able to solo him. Some world bosses are simply impractical for certain class/resource combinations.

and by that i mean actually getting the skill... not a glitch or whatever lol.

I'm a pve player. Just came back to the game and started anew about 2 weeks ago and have a level 30 stamblade. I've been enjoying myself so far, but i'm starting to feel squishy against harder monsters (and especially world bosses).

Looking up some builds etc. and i see there are only two real self heals for a stamblade.

1: Rally... which is 2h only and fairly deep in. And i prefer DW/Bow... though its an option if necessary (to switch to 2h)
2: vigor... which takes some pvp.

So i'm not above trying new things and i've now spent an entire afternoon in cyrodil. I feel i've got a pretty good handle on what to do and where to go. I've picked up some siege equipment and repair kits etc.

I, as expected, get 3-4 shot by pretty much anything (seriously, i have screenshots of someone doing 9k > 4k > 14k to me in 2 globals... and i have 22k health lol).
All i can really do is stand behind the group with my bow and aoe (and/or use/fix siege equipment and die as soon as someone looks at me sideways).

But man... 3 or 4 hours so far... with a zerg group.. and i'm barely halfway through rank 3... and i need 5 for vigor...

    /sigh

anyway... just looking for some advice and/or encouragement i suppose lol. How many other primary pve'ers out there choked down pvp for vigor?

    wish me luck :-\

Should have been there when it was at a higher rank. Check your gear if you're not running impenetrable, you will die quickly. You're a nb, you aren't going to go in on a frontal attack, hit and run, also pick up the dailies. Get into a highly populated camping ro maximize your gains.

Wall repair kits/counter siege my friend.

I got Vigor/Caltrops on my alt tank pretty quick while seldom engaging in any battles.

If you die, who cares? Take ego out of PVP, and it's tolerable.

please do not turn this into another "make Vigor a PvE skill" thread. It takes very little effort to get Vigor now since they dropped the AP the whole way down to around 100K and doubled AP earned. Just go to whatever your hot PvP server is for your platform and follow a group. Repair walls, stand in keeps for d-ticks. You will have it in a couple hours with very little time or effort. The last character I got it on was a tank in 5 hours without ever even taking a swing at another player. It is much quicker if you fight and quicker yet if in a group

Maybe any boss can be soloed with some class, end game gear and so on, but not every class can solo world boss.
For example, I was messing around with my almost forgotten sNB few days ago, and just tried some random bosses to see how they feel on sNB. Well, first of all, if you cloak during boss fight some of them just reset to full health!? I mean, wtfh Zos, really?
Bosses in Alk'r desert are not that bad, maybe only hags can be a real issue for my sNB. I can solo them all there on both sDK and mDK tank with no problem. But one boss I can't solo at all is that golden saint one in Stonefalls. Even on my mDK tank when she uses that whip I am forced into situation that leads to resource depletion. On sDK its one hit death. Didn't even try that one on sNB.

    <snipped>

I finally managed the Golden Saint in Stonefalls on my stamsorc. I pulled her out into the open field behind the ruins where I had some room to maneuver. I'm not sure if it's some kind of mental block or what, but Bittergreen in Deshaan gives me fits. I also ran into Vivien Armene, at the Dragon Mound in Eastmarch by accident a couple nights ago. I was on my mDK, which I'm fairly new to playing. Only tried a couple times but couldn't solo that one. I'll go back at some point on my stamsorc (or L2P my mDK) and try again.

I kept hearing about the three necromacers at Soulfire Plateau, in Auridon, but was highly disappointed in how easy that was. Snapjaw at Heretic's Summons was much more fun. The first couple times I attempted Snapjaw I'm guessing the fight went on for 5 minutes.

Sorry for being OT, but I'd only be able to repeat what others have said... kill X players quests, delve every hour, tag everyone, healing staff, etc.

Hahahaha. Yea someone told me about that one, and I was doing fine even with that lol arm flail, but them adds come out and arm flailed me too. I beat it a little aftereards though, I was just laughing too hard at the flail.

Feel your pain. Long long time ago, it took a whole lot more to unlock Vigor. It now takes about a tenth of what it used to. I don't say this bragging, I never got it though I tried. Then there was an update I logged on and had all the way up to proxy Det unlocked.

I don't like having to Cyrodil to get the only stamina heal in game. It's the developers giving other PvP ers a bone. Bunch of leveling toons to beat on.

When any keep upgrades, all of its walls and floors need repairing. You don't even need to spend AP to get the kits as they can be acquired with gold. Just periodically go to keeps (especially ones recently taken) and repair.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Any world boos can be solo'd by any class.

But I have a question, what are the hardest classes to solo on including specs (Stam or mag)

I'd say stamBlade MagDK are the worst Stan and magicka but are they the worst overall aswell?

Every single character I've got to 6 assult in pvp this is what I had done.

    RE-SPEC to Magicka.

    Equip Resto Staff

Equip. Healing Springs, combat prayer, shields/self heals/protection skills / Healing Ulti (when you get it)

Honestly I never die behind zergs, drop healing springs and just watch the tick. I've found that joining a group is decent because even if you die you'll at least keep gaining AP from your other group members.

However, using the healing strat it's perfectly fine to go at it alone taking 3-4 hours for vigor by myself generally and another 10 or so for caltrops which all and all isn't too bad tbh.

You're right on the money with repair kits.

If you're at your keeps wall JUST before it gets taken back. You can obtain 1.3k AP IF you're there FIRST. It's a little dirty sure.
But man oh man you'll see the gain very quick smart.

I've tried to solo the werewolf boss in East March. It's... Impossible.

It's not impossible because I solo him all the time on my Templar Healer as I make my way back to Breda and I don't have trial or endgame gear. I don't have a Maelstrom weapon either. I am max level though with over 400 CP.

I just have to run around after he summons his adds to keep them from getting on top of me.

That's usually how I beat a lot of the more difficult world bosses I find - just run around like an idiot while I kill them. Many players probably have the offense to just obliterate his adds soon as they show, which I would recommend if you are trying to create a good solo build. Because unfortunately there are many situations on this game where a good offense is the best defense (lot of DPS race mechanics etc.) and running around is usually a lot better at keeping you alive then trying to actually defend yourself. So think high offense + mobility.

For some weird reason MMO developers seem to think running around while you fight = skill or challenge. I haven't yet - but it's probably worth it to invest in a gaming mouse with extra buttons on it. Will make it easier to fight while you are constantly on the move.

update: Two solid days (yay for days off together! :P) and 5 levels (30-35) behind me and i'm rank 5 with vigor :)

tyvm all for the suggestions about the delve bosses and resto staff spammage (even as stam lol).

That wasn't entirely pleasant... but i've done worse grinds. I'm also thinking, once i get maxed and get some CP and actual gear sets that pvp might be kinda fun :)

maybe i'll head back in around then when i want caltrops... he he he.

I got vigor on a stam nb this week in 5 hrs. I am terrible at pvp. Honestly, being terrible at it, I really just needed to be able to kill people fast because I would certainly die if I didn't. So I got viper so I could proc people to death and I'd kill a delve boss in cyrodiil then proceed to go to large battles and sit around in stealth and pick people off. Being a nightblade is really about picking your target and getting away when odds are against you. I used tri food so I could cloak more and immovable pots to survive when detected. I'd also suggest playing on blackwater blade since you are low level
