NB Magicka monster set

I was thinking in Molag Kena because instead of use Impale, i will use Merciless Resolve. This is a magicka NB pvp build, I saw many people uses Grothdarr on their builds, but it doesn't convice me, I don't like. So what other solutions do you suggest me?

I'm farming Spinner's set and then I will craft me Julianos. My idea is run both sets + monster set, two swords in Bar 1 and a Destro Staff in the second Bar.

You need Grothdarr if you plan on playing high aoe mNB. At least, that is what my mNB guildmates run.

Many would go hurr durr no sustain, Kena sux.

Infernal Guardian or Skoria... Also you need a resto staff for pvp

    Skoria would work well.

    Lotus + crippling.

Infernal is your going to use shields.

    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

Actually I just want to use Dampen Magic + Mirage. I don't want to stack shields and also I want to try to play without have to relay in resto staff skills to survive. I want to use other skills to keep my health up like Degeneration and Swallow Soul. I know that mostly everybody has a resto staff in the second bar, but there are some builds in internet without it.

    For example:

Zenimax somewhat forgot about implementing a nice shiny new monster set suited to NBs with a usefull 1-set-bonus, so you need to be satisfied with either Molag Kena or Valkyn for PvE.

You may play with Grothdarr if you wanne play your Magblade as melee DD, but you are losing the advantage to do damage from range. So Valkyn suits your needs. The proc isn't bad at all, but the 1-set-bonus is pretty useless. Molag Kena + Scathing Mage should be awesome if you get it sustained. My guess is that this will happen for you (even by using Siphoning Attacks + pots on cooldown) just in well performing raid groups with large buff coverage, and loads of support and synergies.

Edit: Sorry, forgot about "PvP only", so feel free to ignore this.

Why necro for duels? O.O if the enemy dies then that's it.

(2 items) Adds 121 Magicka Recovery
(3 items) Adds 121 Stamina Recovery
(4 items) Adds 1002 Max Health
(5 items) Gain 1215 Health and Magicka when a nearby enemy dies. This effect can occur once every 3 seconds.

Is really necropotence a powerfull set? I saw many people using it like "a must" but you need always to have shadow image always active.

From the other side Julianos gives critical and 299 spell damage. Are 4000 Magicka better than 299 spell damage? is more Magicka better than Spell critical?

    Necropotence Set
    LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160
(2 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka
(3 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka
(4 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka
(5 items) While you have pets active, increase Max Magicka by 4000

    Law of Julianos Set
    LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160
(2 items) Adds 688 Spell Critical
(3 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka
(4 items) Adds 688 Spell Critical
(5 items) Adds 299 Spell Damage.

Max magicka will stack much higher than your spell damage. It's about a 10 to 1 ratio mm to sd so necro actually will give you more damage and bigger shield size. I have recently switched out necro for spinners but I would recommend one of those two. Also tremorscale is everywhere so you should have your shade active all the time. You take a 70% snare on a magblade it's basically gg. It's also good for just repositioning in general

Wear Necropotence + willpower, get over 50k Magicka, cast shades and look just at your tooltip damage. You will be impressed. It significantly increases tootip damage, which is important for PvP, because relying on damage increase due to crits is not a good strategy for PvP while all are wearing at least 3+ pieces in impenetrable.

The real question is, why Necropotence is no great set for PvE. It's not that you have to equip shades instead of path, it's because the shades leech SPC buffs in raids, while the max number of SPC buffs is restricted to 6 Players and may result in 1 or 2 DDs not getting a SPC buff.

Kinda sucks that there isn't really a magicka NB monster set that synergizes well compared to the other classes. The best I would recommend is either grothdar, skoria, or slimcrawl. Slimecrawl is great if your sole intent is to maximize damage. However, in today's meta, proc is more powerful.

Umm NB's have several options and NB's get access to minor berserk w/o needing the monster helm. In fact they are the only class with native skill line access to minor berserk.

Yeah my Magblade has always been my least favorite character to PvP with. Max magicka and spell power are too low with my generic starter gear.

well considering molag kena adds only something like 700 spell damage. which translates about 1.2k extra dps in pve. grothdar has a 10s cooldown is up for 6s does 2400 per second while up so roughly adds 2-3k dps if you keep it up.

Yeah, that first generic set is just bleh. Honestly, anymore I roll Julianos/Seducers or Julianos/Magnus until I get to max level. People freak out, but I purple it so I can keep the gear a bit longer (I'm lazy) and it gets the job done enough to get there. I regear some 10-15 levels though. But that comes up with an interesting argument pre-OT too.

What you just described was what I was having issues with before all these changes. I couldn't quite get the balance of magicka, regen, or damage. This one I'm SLOWLY getting there, but I'm also getting better at understanding when something is overkill (like having 3k magicka regen with Lich). This patch I'm just having more fun experimenting with these things.

Tbh I wish there was a way we can theory craft without actually crafting gear.

Like with other games I played there was a site that was linked to the game that was updated with the gear and you imputed what you wanted to wear and so forth and the stats were surprisingly dead accurate.

Question is does eso have something like that.....
