My guess is most people will resort to this. Isn't that ZOS's goal? Get money for crowns? If they make the gold price high, what is the crown price? Chances are most people will go the crown route for the biggest homes if they are super expensive (define super-expensive however you want).

At this point, I think it is all speculation. Sounds like you will get an apartment for doing the quest, and then you will be able to purchase bigger homes with gold. My guess is that the biggest houses will cost several million, but that is just a guess.
Seeing that at any given point in time I have only had around 300K-400K I'm not sure I will ever really indulge in housing lol. I guess I have to finally join a trade guild or farm stuff for sale.
I might be looking for a Butler, Housecarl, Gardener and Groom. If you are interested, please forward your CV.
Accommodation provided above the stable block.

Would be dope if you could have your own little glam squad room in your mansion. A room dedicated for all your Style Parlor needs.

Honestly what's the point? I had houses in Skyrim, but was never there obviously. I was PLAYING THE GAME. It's not like you're just going to leave your game running while you're looking around staring at ***.

I spent a lot of time in my houses in Skyrim. Not everyone plays as you do. My friends and i cant wait to start and share our houses with each other.

I'm very interested in knowing how they have always catered to the top 1%. Would you give some examples?
Based on bank and inventory update cost and the golden vendor prices my guess would be that a manor (largest house category) will cost between 200,000 gold and 1,000,000 gold. Pure speculation(Should there be an option to buy houses with AP as well?)

In that game, houses were in a separate zone and organized as villages, so the idea was that if you stopped playing the game, your lot would be freed up for other players.
So, my guess is 1,000,000 gold for big houses up front and 100,000 per month in taxes.
I think prices on small and average houses will be pretty affordable.
Leveling 1-50 through quests on a fresh toon gave me recently about 50K, so I think reasonable price for small house should be within this range, 30-40K.
I believe that furniture/decorations will be the main gold and crown sink.

That pricing makes no sense. I've been playing the game for under 6 months, have only spent money on repairs, upgrading my horse, and pack merchants, and still only have about 180k. There's no way it would cost that much.
