Homestead Crafting - allow Sets to be crafted?

    Yeah

There is no reason for Zos to have a field that determines if someone is able to use a crafting station or not. It would require more work that the more obvious direction and that is merely they have enough traits since access to an area is taken care of by other means.

Not being condescending, but it's the logic approach Zos would have taken.

Actually they do because many of the sets have a required number of traits learned in order to craft that set.
So that table in the data base already exists.

Although I understand where you're coming from, personally I like the incentive to go to places and revisit old maps like with the guild traders. Just a personal thing, although I wouldn't mind either way cause it's not like I'd HAVE to use the house crafting station anyway :p

so i probably should have picked other or maybe... oh well

nope, if they let you craft sets in your home they may as well just delete the crafting stations which would remove something unique about crafting in this game. Part of what makes crafting enjoyable is the process. the more easy you make it, the less rewarding it is. And we shouldn't be able to do everything in our home and need reasons to get out in the world.

Maybe that is something you enjoy but I do not. That is the reason I almost never craft for people that ask out in zone chat. If there is one in both places you could still go out and craft at original craft station.

So imo crafting would be more enjoyable of i didn't have to run out in the middle of nowhere.

Would still need the craft stations in the wild in order to discover them and for those who may not want a craft station in their house. As for me, I would be a lot more willing to craft for people if it didn't require running all over Tamriel.

Hmmmmm I don't want to take all the work out of it...

I wish there was some way to make a "custom" set; like each player/house could pick from a list of possible bennies and then it would be [accoutname]'s set.

Even if it was less than other crafted sets, it would still be fun.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

At this point, if ZOS listened to all of the "what features should be in housing" threads they would end up making everything available in houses. Including quests.

    Please. No.

Feel free to keep doing so. I am more than happy to run all over Tamriel, so I have to assume that at least some of my business is due to people who feel the same way you do.

I was really tired when I voted in this or I would have voted no. For some reason I thought the idea was to have a new set that could only be crafted at house crafting stations which I think would be cool.

"It could be required for players to have discovered the given crafting station location in the world, or even for us to pay extra gold to upgrade the home crafting station to allow Set Crafting."

This is actually a very good idea!!

You're talking like you work at ZOS or something lol. None of us have any idea exactly how their "database" works because we aren't the ones developing it.

They all work very similarly. And that person is talking right out of their arse. It would be incredibly basic.

We know for a fact that the game's database records which crafting stations you've visited - they display differently on the map depending on whether you have or haven't.

We know for a fact that the game knows which maps you have access to. For DLC maps you either own those or are subscribed.

So we know for a fact that what you've proposed would be incredibly simple to implement. Check those two conditions and if satisfied, display that set as an option for crafting.

    Yep! 100% correct.

It's amazing what people will make up to disagree.

If they disagree with adding the ability to craft sets in a player home it's fine. Nothing wrong with that! We have different opinions and it's truly that simple. No problem whatsoever.

To make up stuff and lable it as fact to support your opinion/justify it versus the other side is plain stupidity.

It would make things more simplified and reasonable to allow players to be capable of crafting any set from their home if they found the crafting station for said set prior. Plus it would be rewarding players whom played the game and not those whom bought a sub. Which is always the right decision.

Why not, if it's behind an eso+ perk or something like

2 traits requirement craft station = 200 wood to craft the table/woodworking station
3 traits requirement craft station = 300 wood to craft the table/woodworking station
    ..
9 traits requirement craft station = 900 wood to craft the table/woodworking station

same for iron and the anvil.

It'll keep junior and week end crafters away bcause having to spend 500 , then maybe 700, then maybe 900 wood is a huge investment. Only motivated and OCD will have this. (and it'll raise price of mats too).

It's hard to pin down whether they're being dishonest or just talking from ignorance. A lot of people have no tech experience or knowledge at all and no idea how easy or difficult some things would be to implement.

How often do you find yourself crafting a set? Is it so frequent that you have lost the joy of traveling Tamriel, and taking in its various wonders and sights?
When you level a new character in pvp, you should frequently update your gear. And believe me, crafting Kagrenacs in a different level every few days is very annoying.

Make one trip and craft all the sets at the same time.

I would love this if it's an expensive extra to craft/buy with gold. Say, if you own a mansion and make some crafting stations, you should be able to upgrade them to craft up to 9 trait set. However, these upgrades would be batched, like 2+3 trait sets, 4+5 trait sets, 6+7 trait sets, and then 8+9 trait sets, and these upgrades would get progressively more expensive.
