Housing - what will you use it for?

Nothing. I've always found housing a boring and useless aspect of MMOs. I'm saddened we'll be getting something this useless over some other content.

I will still get the free rooms, maybe some of the upgrades (depending on what they cost and what else I want to do with the money) but I don't really get the appeal unless you're a serious role-player and want a private instanced space.

In other games I mainly use housing as storage space - somewhere to keep things I want to hang onto but don't want to carry around (especially in Elder Scrolls games). Some I just keep in chests, some I display around the house, but the point is I keep my stuff there and sometimes appreciate the free, safe bed too.

Since we can't store stuff and can only decorate with specifically designed items and don't need to sleep I don't really see any use for housing. I might go back once in a while to add new decorations, but I can't see myself spending a lot of time on it.

I keep hoping there's something I'm missing and when it's released I'll have that 'lightbulb' moment when I go "Ah! This is why people like it so much!", but at the moment it seems unlikely.

not nearly as excited as i was originally, for obvious reasons.

kind of like buying a vehicle with no engine, you can sit in it, kick the tires, push it around a little, but you really can't get anywhere because something quite vital is missing.

Socialize with friends and guildies

I wish there was an All of the Above option! I'll make due with lack of storage, as I am much an aesthetic person. I have my eyes on the huge manor in Mathiisen, and I plan on making it a beautiful home for my multitude of pets and mounts, as well as inviting my friends over to socialize, craft, and more! I fully intend on making my house a place worth being at.

My characters all have different desires and ideals. My main is an ancient vampire and wants a huge gothic castle that screams 'VAMPIRE!' at passers-by. One of my khajiits wants a smaller, warm, cozy home, away from water and wind. Another wants a nice town house, etc.

Whats that I hear? Disbelief? Ha, of course you wil be able to craft bookcases!

I won't be purchasing a home until storage is included. Until then, I don't even know what size home I need to buy. But, I will start saving for a home right now so that I'm ready to buy when and if storage is ever included with a home.
