def looking forward to the changes for mDK ... i started off having a magblade as my main when i first started the game... but soon got bored of him so I started a mDK and LOVE playing him... so much more to do with keeping track of the DoT's and everything

Pretty sure the goal will be, say that they are at a level of suck right now around 7, let's turn that down to about 5. Meanwhile let's buff all magic classes at the same time. Net change remains the same as it is today

I truly hope Zenimax will buff my magicka DK DD. As a consequence they should make the appropriate avatar picture for this forum available:

So let the snow flakes and unicorns dance alone until they melt or vanish from existence, we will finish up with those smart enough to stay in the glowing circle of love.

Id guess that an un-purgable morph of one of the DoTs would be a way to keep pressure. It doesn't have to be a problem with NBs, as Cloak dies not purge, just reduces damage to zero.

DKs were at the top of the food chain right until the end of 1.5. It was a long reign, only ended by CP-fueled Sorcs and NBs

I have to say I'm a little nervous about the forthcoming mDk "buffs" - it's already an incredibly lethal spec 1v1. Also, anything they may do has the potential to buff stam Dk which is already arguably the best for 1vX and insanely good 1v1. D:

I just hope that with fixing Dragon blood they will fix Healing ritual, Aura, Eclipse, Agony and do some improvements to sorc's pets.

It's been consensus for quite some time that Mag DK's needed a buff - and they get it.

Cue the stamblade, stamsorc proc-docs with their salted pitchforks :D

I take it you don't use a mag blade?
I do and I never slot impale-I treat assassin's will like an execute instead.

I started mdk early 1.6. I cant really say if they were to powerfull befor, but i think in the early days it was more a vampire problem. In 1.6 mdk were fine in pvp and pve. With 1.7 they were gimpt. Battelspirit and other changes hurts so hart and in over one year no reall help comes.

Dragonblood is a joke. Zos give stam easy access to vigor, but no real heal for mdk.

No magicka gabcloser in one year. All other magicka ore stam meele builds have one. What is the reason why mdk as complet meele disign cant have one???

A fire leap, stam gets stam based ultichanges. Why not for mdk. What will be the problem?

It cant be so hard to make some cahnges, look at stamsorc. In one update viable in pve.

If the changes will good or bad we will know in the next patch, but my hope is gone.
PVP Saint-Bud magicka Templar: AR 49
PVE Lord Victarion mDK : dro'm-Athra-Destroyer pre Morrowind retired for crafting
PVE Ramsay-Bolton magicka NB: Voice of Reason Clockwork City Patch retired
VAA hm/ VHRC hm/ VSO hm/ VMOL hm/ VHOF hm/ VAS hm clear

Stop playing PVE because its boring, content not disigned for melee players and class balance and sustain is ***

Mine too man. We are getting closer and closer to this update and no dialogue has begun. Whatever these changes are they are already coded down so for better or worse their is no way to stop or change it. More and more I think this update will be more about keeping the PvP car rolling that making it look or drive nicely. If it fails we get to wait another 8months.

@Cinbri they don't need to do sweeping changes. All that would be needed for balance:

-radiant destruction deals most damage on final tick.
-increase incap strike cost to 100 ult
-change major evasion to 8% dodge chance
-increase duration of all damage shields by 2 seconds
-change one stam bonus to magicka on black rose. Reduce constitution buff to 30%
-change viper and validreth to apply a DoT instead of deal their damage instantly
-plus the mDK buffs I talked about above

These few changes would go a long way to balancing the game. Of course, I'm taking about the current meta. Still afraid of some of the 1T sets and what they'll do to balance.

    @AverageJo3Gam3r

Obviously a magika user. Clearly biased towards that.

@AverageJo3Gam3r , I'd be cool with incap costing more like 75-80.

I really don't think that constitution needs to be changed. Playing no CP campaigns BR + constitution feels very fair. What doesn't feel fair is the "free" damage you can get out of running a set like viper and a set like tremorscale. That's like 14k procs that I don't have to light attack --> ransack --> bash for. That's instant burst that they can't heal through (and if they did, that equates to more LA --> ransack --> bash rotations along with CC). I think that this, combined with CP really allows people to sustain ad nauseum - albeit, that's assisted quite a bit by being a redguard or playing DK/stam sorc.

I am a huge fan of removing the weapon damage buff on BR (or making it weapon + spell damage) and changing one stam bonus to magicka. The goal of that set is to be a sustain set, a la seducer for heavy armor builds. I think it does that well, but it's paired with proc sets that have brought about this aprocalypse.

I don't have a huge opinion on RD or major evasion. I think shields should probably get a duration buff based on LA pieces worn and combine the reduce cost/recovery passives like on medium armor.

On the note of magDK (my love), I think that whip needs a slight upgrade in damage (~10-15%) only on the Flame Lash morph. Or the power lash proc could be an execute opportunity. Dragonsblood desperately needs rework and maybe should be something like vigor, but less absurd. I think that a dot component would be amazing because we take very little advantage of the increased healing when we have volatile up + igneous major mending. I'd love to see minor expedition attached to wings, lasting just for the duration of the ability - it makes sense, shouldn't flapping huge wings speed you up a little? I also think that the first Draconic passive merits a little bit of a look. It'd be a cool thing to combine some small block cost reduction in as well.

I am adamantly against suggestions that major evasion be added back to cinder storm, but I think it is another great opportunity to give magDK an attrition execute. Leave the PvE morph the way it is and make the snare morph either scale damage with low health targets or cause them to take more damage from fire.

I know it's likely an unpopular opinion, but I really don't want ZOS to add an execute like killer's blade or endless fury. I don't want a simple kill button. I like the deliberate control I can have over an area, but right now (besides the obviously poor healing) I feel like I have such a difficult time closing out kills when I'm outnumbered.

@Adenoma unlike most, I feel mDK healing is fine. Embers for single target, deep breath for outnumbered fights. I wish trainee dropped in a decent trait for a destro staff and I'd drop the resto off the back bar for a destro, even. I rarely find myself casting healing ward these days. Dampen could easily take its place.

I just really hate having to run vampire. It messes with my beautiful argonian tail.

@AverageJo3Gam3r , I think that it's manageable. It's so resource intensive if you're playing a S&B/S&B build. I think @DKsUnite posted a video showing how much he has to expend to heal through a single poison injection. And while many people don't play his style of magDK, it's absurd that a tank would take that much damage and expend that many resources just to heal a single dot.

@Adenoma yep, DK skills are expensive. I stack argonian passives with 30 points in quick recovery, 10 in blessed, major mending from igneous, plus vitality pots.

It's just unfortunate that many other classes can afford to skip out on that allotment of CP and still have excellent healing.

Pretty much. ZOS has proven repeatedly that they're terrible at balancing. All they do is just break something else with every update.
