I once got a rage tell from a DPS after I used Igneous Weapons on my DK Tank - you know, to buff up the group - because he was mad his weapons were orange.
Some interesting stories here that re-enforce my theory of pug dungeons (and the internet as a whole) and that is... Some people are just a-holes, it's not a high cp, or a low lvl thing here it is simply there is no accountability!
That being said there are measures that can be taken to reduce our suffering, i.e if u are low lvl and ar'nt rdy for dlc dungeons, then use the "specific dungeons" option and simply check the dungeons u are comfortable running!
Conversely if u are at a high skill level, don't pug!! Run with Guildies, I say this because as a high lvl u expect a high standard of yourself, and that's fine..but, it is not ok to project that standard onto randoms who may not have certain skills unlocked etc. etc..
Although.. everyone does have access google! There is loads of good info to be found from builds to tactics to gear and rotations, simply don't be "that guy" who blunders through a pug not really knowing their own character, and not knowing the other grp members characters/roles...
Above all friends... DBAA (don't be an a-hole) and if u don't like the way it's going, excuse yourself and leave... Remember, it's supposed to be fun...

But there were many good pug parties, I met really nice and good players from finder, once we did assassin and survivor achiev from CoH at same run so it's not so bad. Just elitist are like that... what is funny, cause really best players are like... 'I don't care of your build and level. Just do dmg/heal/tank. And let me do this in normal time'. And that's good thinking.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the "elistits" that throw fits like that are truly the ones wanting to be carried.
The other day I got kicked from the pug I was tanking for not taunting Quintus Verres in vet Volenfell...
Gave me 15 min to make a nice continental roll, heavy on the Aoli. Bloody good roll that.heng14rwb17_ESO wrote: »I have not used grp finder tool for a long time.

So there i was qued up for VWGT as DPS , after the 3rd boss somebody left and we had this 3 people a Argonian temp healer cp 180, tank 460, and a DPS cp 300 or so.
Due to people not having mic we got killed few times and then that is when it started the leader was cp 300 and he wanted to kick out the healer to which i declined and after 2 times we got killed we got on the mic and managed to finish it, we got to the last boss and things just went down hill, the Cp 300 dps was a leader every time he died and 80% of times he was first to go down kept on saying ohh great i died again , healer didn't do his job again , tank is not doing what he is supposed to do ohh we died again look at that ... why do i bother playing, i hate this i hate that over and over and over again when its his fault as he is getting killed and we try to ress him we get killed because of him .... it gets to you
Now after 40 min of trying to finish the boss and hearing all the negativity ALL the time like and i mean ALL THE TIME , it came to the point where the tank had to go and it was 3 of us , the cp 300 tried to kick the temp many times and they started fighting via text
Cp 300 kept on trying to kick the healer to which i declined, i asked the CP 300 the leader ... get us in que so we can get a new player... cps 300 said " not until we get rid of this !@#$ healer until he is gone im not going to que us in ... i can wait here all night i don't care and you can #$%# off as well if you don't kick him out i don't care i can wait " and i heard TV going on in the background .... i whisper that to the temp ... the temp said "its ok buddy i will go so you can finish this ".."i replied back i don't need to finish it i got close every monster mask i need but you dont" .. so there we were waiting for 10 min .. and still listening to cp 300 been negative and blaming others and healer... so ive done something i didn't do in a very very long time... i voted to kick him off and we did..
after few min later we got people joining and leaving we got 1 DPS after 15 min the same guy CP 300 joined !!.... and it was like nope ,no i can't deal with his negativity again so i kicked him out again and another DPS joined and we finished it like a hot knife thought butter.
After all this i spoken to templer and he was happy he got to finish the VWGT for the first time as he was only playing for a month and a bit , i gave him some pointers and crafted him full julianos set in light purple and made him destro and resto all in Hollowjack Motif staff no charge , LOL never seen/ heard somebody so happy in my life.
My question is has anybody else came across negative people that just do your head in?

another thing that happend was on cradle of shadow
me as DPS 560Cp, another DPS 460 Cp we had a healer 300Cp and tank 560 ... on last boss we died few times and Tank 560 was getting angry and blaming healer and he started insulting people on mic ... the fist time we got to the shadow part he didn't pick up the light even though he was right next to it .. he died ....3 of us made it and got killed eventually trying to rez him ...so next round we told him to pick up the light if he is next to it ... he responded "don't tell me how to play i done this before"... next round we got in the shadow part he had the light on and i was with him .. now you would think he would run to the boss room right... NOPE ... he just stayed where he dropped and started fighting and fighting adds until he died and as i was with him i tried running towards the boss room and i couldn't made it... he started blaming other people ..
. next round i picked up the light i was with healer we made it ( the healer was amazing he was running in front of me leading the way while i was throwing down caltrops ) ... the other 2 guys didn't make it so i don't know what happen.. we got him up at the boss we were doing great ... until the boss goes " stand still.." ... now i don't need to explain when person tells you to stand still ... and tank was running around like a headless chicken and yhea dead .. so we tried to rez him again and eventually we all died..... after that other guy was asking him what he has and tried to help him now the funny part..
The tank was on mic chat complaining and swearing .. we tried to ask him what he is using to help him out ..however he did not responded ..we tried many times going " hello can you hear us? we can hear our self can you hear us ?" just to hear him complaining talking about us and swearing after 6 min of trying to talk to him just to be fully ignored and im sure he could of hear us he was swearing and rage quited.
we started laughing and just went " what just happen ? "
During the catacombs stage on the last boss, I tend to have people run ahead and leave me to die. At least check back once in a while to make sure I'm still with you. -_-
CoS is always a teaching dungeon. Never ran it where I didn't have to explain some mechanics. Never had someone not listen to me in this dungeon because it is so vital to pay attention to the mechanics. I was fortunate to have a very experienced player take the time to explain all the details for me, so I can now pass that on to others.
SourishWhale wrote: »In my experience it's always the poor players that complain the most.
Whenever I run PuG with good players, they're always first to help if somebody isn't doing their job optimally or missing mechanics.
It seems to me like a sense of confidence that good players have. For most Vet dungeons, you know you'll get through it regardless, even if you have to carry people sometimes.
I'll add my funny story now;
I was tanking Elden Hollow II with the daily pledge. I got insta kicked for jumping off the bridge to speed run down to the portal.
The guys seemed pretty inexperienced leading up to the bridge, and we were burning the mobs and first boss really slowly. I didn't really mind. Its an easy dungeon so I just relaxed and did my job. I was getting yelled at for pulling too many mobs at once in the first room (despite the fact that I was running blazing shield and doing most of the DPS just sitting in the fire). This is a vet daily with every group member above 400 CP. Didn't really make sense. Adds should melt with a group like that. But these guys seemed to be struggling.
So at the bridge, I was mid air on my way down to the portal, and one dude sent "You're out!" over zone chat. Then I was kicked!
I messaged him asking him why, and he said because I was, "*** around pulling adds" and "jumping off the bridge was the last draw" for him and his buddies. Initially he was super aggressive which I couldn't understand.
I said you know that's just the normal farming route for that dungeon?
Turns out he'd never actually ran EHII (which is weird because he was around 400cp) and didn't understand what I was doing.
I mentioned that I was just speed running it for keys and apologized for pushing the pace too much for them to handle.
It didn't really bother me. That pledge takes about 10-15 minutes with a good group. But I got a good laugh out of it.

My guild wanted to run normal Maw of Lorkhaj a couple days ago. The raid consisted of our guild, and a lot of picked up players. I was the third most experienced player in the raid, and had only done it twice before.
I asked before the first boss if there were assigned runners, and only one person said that could do it. I had never ran before so I wasn't really willing to volunteer. When continued and got to the final boss. I led to the group to the far wall, and checked chat again to see if we had designated players. Once the boss spawned, someone performed a ready check without the chat confirming runners. It took a whole thirty seconds before I volunteered to be the second runner since it was obvious that no one knew what I was talking about except two other people.
So the other runner kindly showed me my route, and sent me a map over Discord so I can have a visualization of where the cat spawns are. While we're going through my route, two more ready checks are initiated - and one particular player was expressing his impatience via chat.
We started, and no surprise I miss some cats and the raid wipes. I manage to wipe the raid more than once, and there were a lot of confused players wondering what happened. I owned up to it and said that it was solely my fault for the wipes, most were very understanding which I really appreciated. We asked if anyone else would want to try, but no one volunteered.
Another wipe, the person who was impatient at the beginning decided to voice that I should have been replaced from the beginning. Safe to say the guild and group that all supported me didn't take it too well since he was not at all offering to help and was only offering attitude. That user was promptly removed from the raid.
What should be learned from my story: If you cannot help and be a solution, then keep your opinion whining to yourself.
I absolutely despise dungeon finder, but I've been resorting to it since most of my active guild members are in different time zones (damn all you Australians with your cool accents and horrible time difference!!)
Just yesterday i joined a group that was running vet Volenfell; the group consisted of - myself, CP380 stamDK , Templar tank CP 561, Templar healer CP 440, and a magSorc DPS CP551.
- I'm not the highest CP, or running around in all gold gear, but I hold my own and have very good knowledge of this game*
Well I don't think this tank used a single taunt the entire dungeon! He blocked and spammed shields and Invasion... The entire group was running around like mad men on the first Gargoyle changing boss (I forget his name) because the tank could not hold aggro.
-We worked around it and made it through to the final boss, although encountering the same issue at all the bosses and mob pulls...
At the final boss, we hit hard mode for the pledge. And the "tank" goes to the yellow centurion and engages it while the blue is shooting his AoE and the red is chasing ANYONE in sight because the tank does not taunt and kite them away.. I get it, the red guy hits pretty hard and the Yellow has a really strong heavy it charges up - its not an easy task (I've not tanked before, so i'm assuming its not easy, but manageable).
So after wiping multiple times since our DPS end up becoming kiters and not actually DPSing the bosses - I simply go into text chat and suggest that the healer and tank kite the yellow and red boss (using taunts implied) while me and Sorc DPS the blue one, since he stands still and shoots AoE. Ya know, wipe one and get rid of the AoE that you have to deal with when fighting the other 2.
I get a response that simply says "yellow, red, blue" ... So i say.. Okay - let's run it one more time... Nope, wipe...
Eventually, I just make myself the bad guy and continue to solo the blue centurion (running in circles around him dodging his AoE) until its dead.. Halfway into this the red centurion also begins to target me... so i kite him in circles around the blue one - tank no where to be found..
We eventually finish it, but it was not clean and took us nearly 30-45 mins..
Is it wrong for me to have been pretty upset and astonished that this tank had no idea how to tank or even use taunts? Like he didnt just tank and fail due to not knowing mechanics or anything like that - he attempted to tank but never actually tanked anything... he just hit first and spammed shields while blocking..
I just dont understand.
EDIT: So as I read on, i see that the Gargoyle boss, Quintus, cannot be taunted at all times? So that makes me feel better about the tank in my group, but still does not explain the rest of the mob pulls and bosses in the dungeon... No reason a Sorc DPS should be getting focus healed, and casting his wards because he is taking the brute of the boss dmg.

I was always told the yellow first because he heals, but I have found if the tank holds him and dps kills the blue it goes a lot easier. Sounds like a bad tank. But they will learn eventually.
No it shouldn't suprising you at all. This is what I have come to expect in pugs. I dps, I always keep some self heal, usually vigor, in case of emergency. I usually also keep a support slotted, ie repentance. If I run with my guild I will slot all dps because I know for sure we will be covered.
And not all dps are ass monkeys.

I was a pug in a raid very much like that, map in discord and everything. The guild told me that they were an RP guild that just wanted to try nMoL and told me they have been in the trial for something like 4 hours when I wound up joining at the rakkhat fight. Needless to say group moral was pretty low by this point.
I recall pointing out that if I traded runner position with someone that I could stay in the boss room and burn him before lunar which was a real concern. We got it though.
Not really a negative story, I'm mostly curious if we were in the same specific raid group.
The other day we actually had a tank who managed to hold Quintas' aggro the entire time he wanders, up until he starts his flame attacks. We have been trying to figure out how that happened. He doesn't know either.

He will stick to who ever fires the first shot until they are CC'd or dead then randomly picks another. Which is why I found it so funny as the dps who initiated to kick me was the guy who fired the first AoE. It is easy to control if you pull & kill the adds the let the tank grab Qunitas. If you charge in Qunitas will drop with the adds and gnaw on the first guy to do dmg.

Ok my vented rant is over now. But seriously why is there no option to opt out of DLC dungeons in normal queue under level 30 at least? Bad enoth as a DPS I have to wait a minimal of 45 mins per queue. Making completing random normal impossible unless I can pull 2 dpsers worth of DPS on my poor low level stamsorc.
