No, it does not work like that. When you cast magelight then meteor, it simply refreshes the buff, as it comes from the same passive. You get an empower from meteor as well, so you can cast meteor and get the 20% on the next attack.
only thing that needs removed is animation cancelling. things that need fixed, 100% dodge from a 20% dodge skill.

No, it does not work like that. When you cast magelight then meteor, it simply refreshes the buff, as it comes from the same passive. You get an empower from meteor as well, so you can cast meteor and get the 20% on the next attack.
I guess I'm still confused. The tooltip says that my next attack will be empowered by 20%. If I activate Magelight to gain the empowered buff, then cast Meteor as my "next attack", why is it not empowered?

Don't mind that guy he's just a pleb who doesn't comprehend animation cancelling for what it is so he goes around every thread saying how it's a cheat
The might of the guild proc only last 5 seconds, you proc it by using a mages guild skill ie mage light then use meteor for the 20% extra damage but if you do it after 5 seconds then you lose the enpowerment.

Meteor cannot be empowered, so it does not get 20% more damage.
Anyways, Empower as it is right now is perfectly fine. It's very situational, takes a skill usage to get the buff, isn't worthwhile to spam, and no one builds anything around this buff (aka no cheese).
animation cancelling though is more game breaking then any proc set, its more gamebreaking then if red mountain was 100% chance to proc every 2s.
