What does ZOS do against ppl that AP boost for AP to get Emp?

There's a guy who has his guild boosting him right now in Thornblade, since last night. I've recorded some video off it, but does ZOS actually ban ppl for this or are we all wasting our time here?

Thornblade may not exist on your platform, but it does exist.

I think it's an Xbone server.

Walk them naked through the streets of the white gold tower ringing a bell behind them yelling "Shame, shame, shame"

@jeedrzej it is permitted until you are caught, videoed, recorded, or reported. It is not permitted it is cheating.

Well there's also the skill line, which does still give you a small benefit when you inevitably lose your throne.

So does ZOS do anything or is it completely allowed? It's basically ruining the campaign because nobody wants to try to flip the map for this booster

ZOS got rid of Former Emperor buffs years ago. Because they thought it would stop people from colluding to farm Emperor. Of course, now people farm Emperor for the title and dye. It's always something.

I'm confused. What difference does it make if he's being carried. People are being carried all the time through trials, pledges and while this is PvP, this is just another part of the game that people can get carried to get the title.

I'm really genuinely interested and curious to know why this is wrong. How is this considered cheating if he's getting a boost from the guild?

The way i see it, boosting from your guild seems more thematic to the the title.

Even before he becomes Emperor he has a following of people ready to serve him. If it's 'wrong' that his guild might stop doing something to let him do it, then it's also 'wrong' for real world versions to do the same,

Gonne reference movies and tv shows where groups of people attack another group and as their leader gets run/lured/chased toward their own leader and then the people stop and in a way so as to block the person from escape so their own leader would do the kill themself.

I don't ever go into Cyrodiil but honestly, i don't see anything wrong with boosting, it'd make for good roleplay elements as i see it. but if that's considered cheating then so was Negan in Walking dead when his own people set him up to do the killing hits D:

The reason I'd make an argument it was wrong was because if the only way to get to the #1 spot is to farm, it means you couldn't have done it just PvPing. It takes away from others who are not doing it.

And of course, there's the other argument that you're abusing the mechanics of PvP for personal reward at the expense of others (Def against ToS).

ZOS will call it a clever use of game mechanics as they collect revenue from multiple account purchases . I think SOE was the last company to punish this action in PvP if it could be proven and they are out of business .

Basically what @DocFrost72 said. There are some people who literally put hours upon hours, days upon days, working to get in first position. But then some guild comes along and feeds the entire defensive tick of a resource to their guild member. They fight at the resource and before the tick kicks in, they run out of range, leaving the entire tick to that guild member. And so in a matter of few hours, they can put that guild member in first position. And the poor legitimate players who spent days and days working to get there can't catch up.

It's basically rigging the system so that you win. Exploiting mechanics in your favor, or in this case, your guild members favor. And I'm sure that the guild and the people involved see no harm in doing it. But they are only thinking of themselves, not the people who really really work hard to get there. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can really do to stop it, except not be a part of it if it bothers you.

I remember one guild I belonged doing this, and I was shocked to see it. I thought we were all just farming AP, and then everyone in TS said to run outta range. And I was like, "What? What's going on?" And they said, "We're going to make (insert name here) Emp." So I left the group and talked to an officer. And the officer said, "Well...are they forcing you to join this?" And I said, "Well..no." And that was that. But I did say some things on this forum at the time and in zone, and I still have yet to see that "Emperor" put that title in front of their name. Maybe they know that they didn't legitimately earn it.

OK, as someone who barely ever does any PVP I don't understand what you mean by boosting to get emperor.

Does it mean that this guy's guild is organizing and helping him with battles/capturing resources/defending keeps etc in order to help him push for emp? Because that just sounds like playing PVP as intended. Or does it mean something else entirely?

Likely the aspiring emperor is having his guild mates log into their characters on enemy factions, and then trading kills with the aspiring emperor to farm up a large amount of AP in a short amount of time, making it difficult for anybody on the aspiring emperor's faction to keep up on the leaderboards without trading kills with their friends as well

First: Some of you need to learn to think outside of the box. Just because some people have come up with other ways to achieve Emperor that veer from the obvious doesn't make their methods any less legit (assuming they are within the bounds of the game per ZOS of course).

Second: I can't think of even one emperor (or great leader of any title) that got there by themselves (obviously I'm excluded those that inherited the title). There were always a ton of people in the background making sacrifices to ensure it happened.

MMO's are meant to be group experiences. That doesn't mean you can't play solo, but it does mean the game caters to groups.

Oh... well that, yes that is definitely a scummy thing to do.

I thought you meant boosting as in other guild people stop doing something so he can take credit.

If they are just logging and intentionally dying to him, then that should be ban-worthy.

You can let someone from opposing faction kill you repeatedly. Or you could grab scroll and run it to opposing faction. There is numerous things you could do that are shady. Zos doesn't seem to care what crappy things people do in pvp.

Lol. It's not "permitted." As in it's okay to do it. It's just not "prohibited". As in nothing will be done to stop you. But even that doesn't make it right. In general, people know what "fair play" is, even if some don't play fair.
