1st Question: What would the OP define as "asian" features? You should define this before the ignorant derail your thread.

People generally know when you see them but computers don't really work like that. So what would they have to add to the current character customization to allow such features.

If you say anime hair then you have wasted everyone's time. :)

    You have medieval French....Bretons.

    You have Northern Europe....Nords.

    You have Brits.....Altmer

    You have Roman Italy....Imperials.

You have Celts....Bosmer, though they sound like Aussies and are more Celtic myth than Celtic proper with some native American thrown in.

You have North Africans....Redguard, though many have physical features more common in southern African regions.

You have the Middle East....Dunmer, though they're more like the Andalusian mix of Arabs and Jews of Medieval Spain.

You have Mesoamerica....Argonians....well....in their dress an architecture. The Argonians themselves are more creatures of Mesoamerican myth as the Bosmer are to the Celts.

You have the Asian subcontinent in the Khajiit, heavy on the Hindu references, though all manner of cultures features lunar deities.

I've never encountered such a broad mix of myriad cultural references before I played ESO. Never played the earlier games created with the same licence.

If the issue is exclusion or perceived cultural bias, I don't think so. But I am very much a Westerner.

That said many players want to choose characters that look like themselves. And that's clearly easier to do for western folks.

I suppose when/if they introduce some Akavir races then there could be more Asian features in the game. The Akaviri motif you can buy is clearly Japanese in style so by lore wise it is not impossible.

There is no Asia in Tamriel. The Elder Scrolls is fantasy. Just like there are no Dark Elves, Khajiit and Argonians on our planet, races from our planet do not exist in the ES.

Anyway, it is possible to create a face with Asian features.

    Indees, it is.

Half asian faces at least are ok lorewise, by the way. The last Akaviri invasion triggered the foundation of the Ebonheart Pact, and there might be some survivors around. And Akavari ruled over the Empire in the first half of the 2nd Age, and founded the warriors guild.

Aren't the Akaviri all snake people though? I don't think they'd look that much like asian people.

They are most probably ruled by a Tsaesci upper class. The Tsaesci are the snake-men you refer to. We can say this because representations show normal human warriors.

However, it is true, we have no information regarding their supposed asian look: We only know that their names are inspired by the Chinese and that their style looks japanese.

All of you people acting like Akavir is the solution to explaining the Asian look when there's no reason to think the Akaviri looked Asian at all. Having an Asian theme to their building style and arms doesn't mean they would look Asian. In fact, the few examples we do have of them makes them look like your standard Imperial.

I agree that being able to create a more Asian look would be nice for people, but people shouldn't just invent excuses to justify it.

First of all, we do have some inkling of an idea of what an Akaviri looks like.

Sure we have a Redguard-Akavir hybrid, but the Asian features are unmistakable.

Secondly, from the data that we have (Chinese names and Japanese armor), we can at least determine that the Akaviri is definitely inspired by Asian culture. As such, we can bet on the Akaviri looking distinctly Asian. It's called "common sense".

Seems to me like the Dunmer/Dark Elves are the most Asian-like, at least culturally. ...snip.
