Finally I’m Stormproof – Vet Maelstorm cleared! Well happy.

I know its not a huge thing to the many guys on here that have smashed it 100’s of times but man my first clear feels good!

Broke it up a bit over a few weeks, left when a boss annoyed me too much, then came back. Some stages I was straight thru, but a few were nails. Ice one especially. Been on Stage 9 last two weeks and whilst rounds 1-5 seemed straightforward for the life of me I couldnt crack that Voriak, mistakes, bad timings etc etc. Completion run was sketchy but who cares, its done!

Huge thanks to @DRXHarbinger, @Lukums1 for the advice & anyone else that's posted on a few of the thread's. And ZOS for the Orsinium event which gave me focus to get it done

I hate to admit this, as I know people strive for them but I got a Sharpened Dagger, sadly its of little value to me as I’m a Magika build ☹ Infused Ice Staff also. Dagger ill put on my Archer Alt, just a low level Fun build tho sadly!!

I'll never try to Flawless, first pass gave me too many grey hairs. Perfect challenge though, ZOS needs to keep it that way. Content should be hard, but doable.

Only other point, no skill point on finish!??!?! and like only got 18k XP!?! Feels first pass should be worth a million!!

i gave up after 100 attempts on last stage of last round rage deleted the quest and am currently on a break from the game.

You do get a skill point when you hand the quest in to fruit and nut. First run takes forever...you will finish it sooooo much quicker now!

I went from that to 87 min clear 3rd run its so strange how beating it once makes so easy and finished the last boss second try on that same run I have only cleared 3 times btw but got sharp axe and bow

I have finished vMSA several times now but never really cared about the weapons so much. All 5 have just been sitting in the bank unused.

And all other armors and weapons tagged as bound are bound to account, so working as expected.

Cheers guys, I'm stoked. I seriously never intend a flawless push, it would wreck me. But yeah I'll try a rum again and if I can get the time down / deaths down maybe ill try for that inferno, but for now, a break!!

.@puffytheslayer sorry to hear that, honestly i close to quitting as it was maddening but just had to get it done.

@Buffler I thought so but she said 'here's something you have earnt or something' I got 600 gold and 18k XP, I said 'great'. Does both Normal and Vet give a SP for sure? I'll open a ticket if so.

@danno8 I'm confused no gear is ever bound to Character, everything says bound and that means to Account.... ?!

Bound means you can't give it to or sell it to another Player. All of YOUR characters though can use it.

Well OP, I guess you do deserve a congrats, though I can't agree with you on your statement about it's difficulty. Games aren't meant to infuriate the player. It's because of this that I only attempted nMA twice and then never looked back.

Yah I've been bouncing around other mmos for the last few months where it means different things. Just a brain fart on my behalf. Good thing I horde stuff.

Funny thing is I have always given my old equipment to my alts even though it says "Bound" on the tooltip and never thought twice about it.

In my defense though, there are several things that say "Bound" on them that can't be transferred. Like trophies and other stuff. But it's more the exception than the rule.

Congratz BTW, and yah that poison stage is probably the one stage that will prevent me from ever getting Flawless.

Except it is nothing like that. You do get different results. While you may not get exactly what you want, you do get different results (rewards).

You do get a skill point for beating Maelstrom, but it's awarded for beating any version of Maelstrom. So if you've already beaten nMA, then vMA will not award one. If, however, you went straight into vMA without completing nMA, then you will get a skill point at the end.

Actually, this is by no means a commonly accepted definiton of insanity at all. People on the internet like it because it's catchy and allegedly quotes Einstein, who probably didn't say that at all - and if he did, most likely he was talking about something else entirely.
