Just run Sanctum Ophidia over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

You can also buy or trade missing pieces with your teammates (or even get them for free).
Getting Alcosh set from normal MoL is tricky, but item trading still helps I guess. And all weeklies also drop MoL loot.

I've done well over 10 runs, still no jewelry. Only two pieces, waist and legs, one in Sturdy, other in Reinforced.
Completing SO on veteran difficulty guarantees jewelry drops.
Completing vSO on hardmode guarantees legendary jewelry.
Completing it on normal does not guarantee jewelry, nor does it guarantee that Vicious Ophidian or Infallible Aether will drop. Those sets are actually of a lower drop rate in normal relative to vet.
So, for the best chance at the best gear possible, complete it on veteran and do it on hardmode. Hardmode SO is actually much easier than the re-vamped hardmodes of HRC and AA, and definitely easier than vMoL, hardmode or not.
In normal, it's a 20% chance of a BoP set item on the final boss of all three Craglorn trials.
- If you get a BoP item, you might get VO, or you might get IA or EY.
- You might get a jewelry piece, or you might not.
- The chance to get a VO jewelry piece something like 3-4% in normal.
In vet non-HM, you are guaranteed one piece of golden jewelry on the final boss of all three Craglorn trials. 20% chance it'll be a BoE jewelry piece, 80% chance it'll be a BoP jewelry piece.
- If you get a BoP jewelry piece, you might get VO, or you might get IA or EY.
- The chance to get a VO jewelry piece is 26% in vet non-HM.
In vet HM, you are guaranteed two pieces of golden jewelry on the final boss of all three Craglorn trials. You are guaranteed 1 BoE jewelry piece and 1 BoP jewelry piece.
- You still have an equal chance to get VO, IA, or EY (though sometimes it feels like EY drops way too frequently--but that's probably just bad luck). But you are guaranteed a piece of golden jewelry from one of those three sets.
- The chance to get a VO jewelry piece is 33% in vet HM.

Buying/trading is nice, but there's only been one jewelry drop in all my runs, and the person who got it was also farming for it. Like I said, RNG is not on my side
Specifically for Vicious Ophidian, here's an older post that I made in another thread:In normal, it's a 20% chance of a BoP set item on the final boss of all three Craglorn trials.

Normal is ridiculously easy, but the drop rate is also ridiculously low. If you are able to run vAA, vHRC, or vSO, I would recommend running those instead: not only is the jewelry golden (this was changed in Update 11 so non-HM jewelry is golden too), but the drop rate is so much better. From the time vSO was released in Update 10 to when group trading was made available in Update 11, I had completed almost four complete sets of VO jewelry (even though I have just 3 stam characters), and that was just from running vSO HM for weeklies and for sellable BoE gold jewelry. Once group trading was enabled in Update 11, I've been giving away my VO jewelry pieces.
Of the three vet Craglorn trials, vSO is by far the longest with copious amounts of tediously long trash pulls. The difficulty of Ozara is dependent almost entirely on how good your kite team is--it can be the roadblock that wipes your group, or it could be pretty straightforward. But vSO HM--the best mode for drop rate--is by far the easiest of the hard modes (barely any harder than non-HM).
vAA and vHRC are much shorter and simpler trials. But their Hard Modes are very difficult. It's much quicker to get to the vAA/vHRC final boss, but the final boss is not quite as rewarding (unless you want to face the cluster that is their HM), whereas vSO's final boss is a pain to reach, but has an easy HM for great rewards.

Why oh why would you bother kiting? So much easier to just tank the trash in the side room.

You don't get lightning form the overchargers and poison from the trolls if people kite them out of the room. Both are very valid methods of doing the fight.
RNG is not on my side - I've run SO countless times but have had only 2 VO drops, neither in divines. It takes quite a while to complete and I'm tired of running it over and over again.
What's the best/fastest way these days to farm VO or Roar of Alkosh set pieces? Does the scale down method still work (working as intended?). Are there any other ways to get these pieces faster?
