It's been said 1001 times, so let's make it 1002. Please ZOS, I've been playing a Necromancer since Morrowind and been playing ESO since Beta. I've been a good girl this year, cleaned my plate every dinner! Please ZOS Santa stand in, please can I have the ability to play as a Necromancer in ESO for Christmas?

The major problem is that is seems to majorly conflict with the games story.

Defeat the evil necromancers.... with necromancy!

I almost think it would work better as a world skill line, like vamp or WW. You can chose to learn necromancy on top of your normal skills.. which would mean you'd have to have it be rather weak but at least then it would be like you have chosen a dark path, would be nice to have negative in game implications of using it.

oooh ooh I have it.. a world skill line where you have pledged allience to a Daedra one of which gives you Necromancy and the others give you different skill lines.

    No.

    Just no.

If ESO were capable of doing lore properly, than a "ancestor summoner" (i.e. the truly appropriate dunmer path) might be a thing, but no.

    NO.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

The only problem with this is that, like Vampire and Werewolf, it's basically useless. Vampire and Werewolf are only used by people who enjoy the idea of one or both, not because their mechanics are actually good, their gameplay is actually quite terrible, I can understand why this was done but I do not agree with their reasoning. They could have made some proper drawbacks to go with their perks, right now, apart from their aesthetics, you may as well have a non-combat pet for all the difference it would make while fighting things in game.

I don't know about that. People definitely use WW for PvP builds. WW becomes a vital piece of certain PvP builds even.

Wasnt Tharn a necromancer and he also helps u in the main quest, so all these people that say its lore breaking is just rollacks.

I too wish to play a necro. Tried a magic nb but dosnt feel the same and a sorc pet build is just... no.
I would love them to add several new classes in 2017 as it feels that 4 classes is no enough especially since stam out does magic in alot of mechanics

There is no valid "Lore" reason why a necromancer class / skill line should not be introduced. This argument has been crushed several times on these forums. I still don't fully understand why some people want to deny others content when it need not have any effect on their playing experience whatsoever.

But still some people persist. "I don't like it or want it, so nobody else should either". What a selfish attitude.

In terms of "balancing existing classes first", that's also a thin argument. After 3 years of attempted balancing people still complain that the classes remain unbalanced, mainly PVP players. I don't PVP so those that do are far more suited to make more accurate judgements than me about class balance. That said I don't think it should be a barrier to adding new classes or skill lines. Because lets face it, the classes are never going to be balanced anyway after all this time.

The game is becoming stale IMO. As a beta player, subscriber since day one and having sunk a good chunk of money into the crown store I for one am getting tired of the same formula. There are different class builds yes, but with only four classes they all still have the same old flavour.

Diablo 3 has just introduced a new class, and I will be going back to play it again. Maybe if ESO followed suit it would renew interest in ESO, bring past players back and draw new players in. This in turn would create more revenue for ZOS so they could put more funds into improving all areas of this game. And that's good news for ALL of us, regardless of our opinions.

Balance is never going to be achieved anyways, so I don't mind a new class

    However...

It should be the Warden, hands down. It was already a class created for this game, so it's more likely that it'll be the first "new" class to be added.

Besides, Nature mages are cooler than Necromancers ;)

Like defeating evil vampires....with vampirism! Or defeating hordes of Werewolves as a...Werewolf!

That would be silly, wouldn't it? ;)

I get your point but the main bad guy, the wurm cult, is necromancer.
Actually I am not sure about Tharn it sounds like he was a necromancer at times but I thought it was just that the Nord was sluring him, he never uses it. I am new, I haven't finished the main storyline yet. hahahaha

It would be nice if Vamp and WW were better but in exchange for making them much worse in some situations including quest and NPC implications. I get that could easily make them horrible, or horribly imbalanced.

Like daedric world lines seem like something that has to come with horrible downsides on default.

If you made Necromancy I feel like it is better not as a class but as a something you can pick up, like what if you just joined the wurmcult and ran wurm cult quests?

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I like it a skill like like vampire and werewolf also. Certainly its not someone's major hobby in life but something they devote a lot of time to or just a little. Still, I think open use of necromancy in cities will get you bounty just like stealing can. Its hated and wrong so it has to be punished for simply being witnessed.
