Shields make it significantly easier. I'm still most comfortable on my magblade running just dampened and double staves (too poor to gold out swords), but I've been so frustrated with the drops I just respecced to stam for something new and because those are the sharpened weapons I have the most of haha.

Also the pyromage that rubber bands on stage 8 when he does his dot so you can't bash him. Now I'm done derailing your thread lol sorry!

hey man, im broke too lol. #thestruggle but however it has made me an awesome player. my swords dw r purple my staff is purple, my gear half of it is purple, my jewlry is purple, and last but not least purple enchants. I RARELY use pots(trash pots if I do) and I almost never use sigils.I trained myself that way. I think there may be a more fundamental problem at work than lag and disconnects and stunlock.
The same as those people using shared line or broadband that get reduced bandwidth and kicked during prime time.

CONTENTION.
How many of you have gone 1v10 against players or NPC and your character simply stood there and did nothing.
Maybe even timed out.

Is the server busy with everyone else at that particular fragment of time ?
Or is your character data unobtainable for some reason ?

I was in wrothgar on one of the world bosses with the 20 or so echaterre.
Trying to solo that results in the same problem of innumerable hits all at once, while you are trying to control your character.
Like stunlock....little or no response occurs or you suddenly release an instantaneous flurry of backlogged actions.
Them hitting one after another with a time gap was not so much an issue.
Its when all of them hit at exactly the same time.

CONCLUSION.
Unlike reading data that can be done by multiple coded functions at the same time.
Writing data can only be accessed one at a time in order or sequence.
So if I want to update/change any info about my character.....I have to contend with other players and NPCs.

1v1 = 50% contention so I get a fair chunk of control over my character (queue length of 2)
4v1 = 20% contention so I only get 1 in 5 ticks of access to my character (queue length of 5)
9v1 = 10% contention so I only get 1 in 10 ticks of access to my character (queue length of 10)
19v1 = 5% contention so I only get 1 in 20 ticks of access to my character (queue length of 20)

When you think about contention for control over your character....should we be surprised at the way the game behaves in the situations mentioned ?
Can we fix it ?

IMPROVEMENT.
Files are locked read only when they are written to (dedicated access).
Database record are also locked when they are being written to (dedicated access)
This is done to ensure concurrency of data and ensure it does not get corrupted.

We cant stop this locking mechanism....but we can mitigate the problems it causes.
Instead of 1 player record/file that contains health, stamina, magicka, spell damage, weapon damage..etc.
We can fragment that record into individual components and records.
That way one process can modify health, one process can modify spell damage, one process can modify something else.....except they can do so all at the same time !
This is because there are now multiple records instead of one and locking one record does not lock all of them.

The other option other than limiting AoE caps...is to limit the amount of NPC or player that can attack you at any time.
eg. if 20 players attack you....anymore than 10 are dropped from the queue.

ok first of I'm smart, but not that smart however I was able to understand what you're saying and I do appreciate your feedback as you could be onto something. Have you perhaps forwarded this to any of the devs?

I was going to try and please forgive me for I do not remember the guys name, (will edit once I find it), his suggestion for not picking up the quest. However with so many flawless attempts no respense from Zos on this issue as I tagged Mrs.Bruno in this thread earlier I'm like too peed off to try again anytime soon

girl* but as an update, a few friends confirmed that not picking up the quest, dashboarding, logging back, and continuing allowed for the flawless achievement to work. If it has changed since one tamriel though, then I have no idea.

ZOS commented back to me in relation to this:

DUE to a character save - effectively by logging out of the game (makes sense) to save character upgrade, level & progress etc.

This voids your title of flawless, upon looking at your video you did go 15/15 and did a good job at doing so but we will be unable to grant you this achievement.

I can understand the frustration and anguish that this brings so please accept 50k as a substitute.

I've gotten flawless on 3 characters now, but the above is beyond the POINT if you get 15/15 by the end regardless of DC you should be granted the title none of the save ***. I feel so sorry for the people who obtained this feat to be not given the title fair and square.

I completely get it if you logged for 2 hours and came back different story, to get blue screened going into round 9 (imo the easiest round of them all) what do you do? Walk out and restart. Like jezus man think of the children!

1. Passing the RNG aoe from trolls on wave 5
2. Passing the RNG of getting heavy by the attro or lurker stage 6 then getting struck my lightning twice
3. Passing the RNG of round 7 not getting spoors under you and knocked back from his ground aoe into a spoor
4. Passing the RNG of round 8 with the tail whip from round 4 on round 8 to get hit for 22k? Umm ok?
5. Passing RNG of round 9 stun lock from nightblades with CG breathing fire all over your ass, taking aim from rangers not being able to bash?, As well as the boss round going exactly how you want it to.

After all that with video proof ZOS tells you to go jump off a bridge basically.

EXACTLY, most troubling really and In the end we the ppl who run vma are their long term overly dedicated players. It seems as though they really do not appreciate nor care about us. It really is disheartening because I love this game, I love all the great ppl this game has allowed me to meet. Something as big a deal as this has me reconsidering what I spend my money and my time on.

The support is really bad UNLESS you complain A LOT.

Then they do something... but not nearly enough.
