I'm still most comfortable on my magblade running just dampened and double staves (too poor to gold out swords), but I've been so frustrated with the drops I just respecced to stam for something new and because those are the sharpened weapons I have the most of haha.

hey man, im broke too lol. #thestruggle but however it has made me an awesome player. my swords dw r purple my staff is purple, my gear half of it is purple, my jewlry is purple, and last but not least purple enchants. I RARELY use pots(trash pots if I do) and I almost never use sigils.I trained myself that way. So trust gear isnt everything potions arent game changing Sheer Skill and DETERMINATION is. btw youre not derailing this thread we are discussing the content. Haha I had 1.5m I gave away when I took a break...and then I returned and immediately regretted it. Yeah gear definitely doesn't matter much once you've done it a few times. For awhile I just messed around with random sets to see if I could still make it through. But, I'm a bit picky with weapons; I don't really like to use them if they're not gold just because I feel like I'm gimping myself out of a decent amount of damage. Plus right now I run a sharpened maelstrom lightning and a precise maelstrom fire so I'd have to give up sharpened on a staff or fire damage.

As for sigils I always use the defense one at the start of round four stage eight and at the last ice block on stage five. The rest I'll only use if I don't care about score, or if I'm going for flawless I find I pick up random sigils for no apparent reason lol. I assume I'm just nervous and not thinking. For pots I just use trash magicka pots too unless I'm going for flawless, then I'll use tripots in the final round to be safer.

I'd be happy if they buffed maelstrom and gave better drops tbh .

I think there may be a more fundamental problem at work than lag and disconnects and stunlock.
The same as those people using shared line or broadband that get reduced bandwidth and kicked during prime time.

CONTENTION.
How many of you have gone 1v10 against players or NPC and your character simply stood there and did nothing.
Maybe even timed out.

Is the server busy with everyone else at that particular fragment of time ?
Or is your character data unobtainable for some reason ?

I was in wrothgar on one of the world bosses with the 20 or so echaterre.
Trying to solo that results in the same problem of innumerable hits all at once, while you are trying to control your character.
Like stunlock....little or no response occurs or you suddenly release an instantaneous flurry of backlogged actions.
Them hitting one after another with a time gap was not so much an issue.
Its when all of them hit at exactly the same time.

CONCLUSION.
Unlike reading data that can be done by multiple coded functions at the same time.
Writing data can only be accessed one at a time in order or sequence.
So if I want to update/change any info about my character.....I have to contend with other players and NPCs.

1v1 = 50% contention so I get a fair chunk of control over my character (queue length of 2)
4v1 = 20% contention so I only get 1 in 5 ticks of access to my character (queue length of 5)
9v1 = 10% contention so I only get 1 in 10 ticks of access to my character (queue length of 10)
19v1 = 5% contention so I only get 1 in 20 ticks of access to my character (queue length of 20)

When you think about contention for control over your character....should we be surprised at the way the game behaves in the situations mentioned ?
Can we fix it ?

Files are locked read only when they are written to (dedicated access).
Database record are also locked when they are being written to (dedicated access)
This is done to ensure concurrency of data and ensure it does not get corrupted.

We cant stop this locking mechanism....but we can mitigate the problems it causes.
Instead of 1 player record/file that contains health, stamina, magicka, spell damage, weapon damage..etc.
We can fragment that record into individual components and records.
That way one process can modify health, one process can modify spell damage, one process can modify something else.....except they can do so all at the same time !
This is because there are now multiple records instead of one and locking one record does not lock all of them.

The other option other than limiting AoE caps...is to limit the amount of NPC or player that can attack you at any time.
eg. if 20 players attack you....anymore than 10 are dropped from the queue.

1.5 million!!! Oh how i wish I could even have 100k to sit on and you just up and gave away 1.5 MILLION; yes you should not have done that, and be sure next time u break away for a bit never to do that again. As far as buffing vma shhhhh they dont need anymore ideas until they can fix the already ongoing issues.Fix first then maybe just maybe I would sign on for a vma buff.I read a post somewhere where someone suggested being able to read a scroll of glorious battle inside vma. I cringed at first thought of course, but I was enticed at the second.

ok first of I'm smart, but not that smart however I was able to understand what you're saying and I do appreciate your feedback as you could be onto something. Have you perhaps forwarded this to any of the devs?

I've been fighting with ZOS for the last 5 days because of this exact reason.

I've gotten a number of 15/15 flawless runs - HOWEVER due to blue screening phasing into the next arena

They state - because you didn't complete it in one go we can't award the achievement.

It's utter bull ***.

You dc, and ocme back instantly within 2 minutes still have the lives and everything. Complete the arena 15/15 but no title.

Showing 15/15 kept lives but they WILL not reward the achivement.

It's bloody *** and I feel sorry for the people who still don't have the achievement due to the *** dc's and it's not even lag related half the time it's stupid blue screens changing gear, eating food, phasing into rounds.

I usually go between 200k-2 million, but when I left I thought it would be for good otherwise definitely wouldn't have done it . In one week I went from 800g to almost 300k again though!

And I agree about the fixes first for sure. But the scroll idea is neat...maybe a new title too and the old sharpened, precise, defending loot with the new 100% drop rate...Now I'm getting too excited over something that most likely won't happen lol.

Exact same thing happened to me. Finished with a score, 15000 vitality bonus, 15/15, no deaths, got a video and everything. But because I got DCed and had to restart my xbox in between rounds 8 and 9, my flawless run did not count. For some reason the game appears to count logging back in as starting over from a save point and does not register the flawless run.

I was fortunately able to achieve another flawless run shortly after and get the achievement/title, but ZOS really needs to fix this issue. Tons of people are obtaining perfectly legitimate flawless runs and being straight robbed of their achievement. It is infuriating, especially for such a difficult achievement.

thank you for your response I shall watch your link now so you submitted a ticket 5 days ago? even with video proof they gave you nothing? the shame. something has to be done about this. As most people havent bought this dlc and or the ones that have most dont even bother going in there. They should treat us hardcore veteran paying consumers with more respect.

happy to hear that you were able to get your flawless, I am so outraged/discouraged I havent even logged into eso today. I was going to try @Stoopid_Nwah , her suggestion for not picking up the quest. However with so many flawless attempts no respense from Zos on this issue as I tagged Mrs.Bruno in this thread earlier I'm like too peed off to try again anytime soon

girl* but as an update, a few friends confirmed that not picking up the quest, dashboarding, logging back, and continuing allowed for the flawless achievement to work. If it has changed since one tamriel though, then I have no idea.

Don't take the quest. Disconnects won't steal your title, although they will happen and you will need to log back in real quick. Worked for me.

ZOS commented back to me in relation to this:

DUE to a character save - effectively by logging out of the game (makes sense) to save character upgrade, level & progress etc.

This voids your title of flawless, upon looking at your video you did go 15/15 and did a good job at doing so but we will be unable to grant you this achievement.

I can understand the frustration and anguish that this brings so please accept 50k as a substitute.

On a side note: Even with another 0 at the end of that 50k wouldn't of compensated not even a little bit.

I've gotten flawless on 3 characters now, but the above is beyond the POINT if you get 15/15 by the end regardless of DC you should be granted the title none of the save ***. I feel so sorry for the people who obtained this feat to be not given the title fair and square.

I completely get it if you logged for 2 hours and came back different story, to get blue screened going into round 9 (imo the easiest round of them all) what do you do? Walk out and restart. Like jezus man think of the children!

Now perhaps a one of a kind costume that would somehow let everyone know i went flawless but zos didnt give it to me ok lol.( a walking charity case). No, but seriously though thats crazy I mean how hard is it exactly to give a person who they clearly aknowledged deserves the title, the darn title. which 3 toons did u get flawless on and congrats btw

ah #sorc4thewin or well wins I main a mag sorc myself. I do have all charcters though they each will have their time. Not until I get my flawless though Ammeratasu comes second to none. On other note I really am starting to wonder about zos though,and when I wonder its never good

It's just plain wrong. You did it to the specifications ( don't die ) have 15/15 by the end.

But you know what comments you'll get slapped with... ah well you did it once you can do it again.

They have no idea the stress and mentality of VMA going through each phase.

1. Passing the RNG aoe from trolls on wave 5
2. Passing the RNG of getting heavy by the attro or lurker stage 6 then getting struck my lightning twice
3. Passing the RNG of round 7 not getting spoors under you and knocked back from his ground aoe into a spoor
4. Passing the RNG of round 8 with the tail whip from round 4 on round 8 to get hit for 22k? Umm ok?
5. Passing RNG of round 9 stun lock from nightblades with CG breathing fire all over your ass, taking aim from rangers not being able to bash?, As well as the boss round going exactly how you want it to.

After all that with video proof ZOS tells you to go jump off a bridge basically.

EXACTLY, most troubling really and In the end we the ppl who run vma are their long term overly dedicated players. It seems as though they really do not appreciate nor care about us. It really is disheartening because I love this game, I love all the great ppl this game has allowed me to meet. Something as big a deal as this has me reconsidering what I spend my money and my time on.

1. Passing the RNG aoe from trolls on wave 5
2. Passing the RNG of getting heavy by the attro or lurker stage 6 then getting struck my lightning twice
3. Passing the RNG of round 7 not getting spoors under you and knocked back from his ground aoe into a spoor
4. Passing the RNG of round 8 with the tail whip from round 4 on round 8 to get hit for 22k? Umm ok?
5. Passing RNG of round 9 stun lock from nightblades with CG breathing fire all over your ass, taking aim from rangers not being able to bash?, As well as the boss round going exactly how you want it to.

After all that with video proof ZOS tells you to go jump off a bridge basically.

EXACTLY, most troubling really and In the end we the ppl who run vma are their long term overly dedicated players. It seems as though they really do not appreciate nor care about us. It really is disheartening because I love this game, I love all the great ppl this game has allowed me to meet. Something as big a deal as this has me reconsidering what I spend my money and my time on.

The support is really bad UNLESS you complain A LOT.

Then they do something... but not nearly enough.

oh trust THEY have not heard the last from me. I suggested that they pull the plug on vma until its fixed in it entirty show the playerbase the loyal ones and the newcomers that they care

I just got my title through a flawless run without any problems, but they did not respond to my ticket yet, but now I don't need to care anymore finally, the nervousness and despair is over
