- Ability to reset abilities individually

There's a reason, alas, why the playable instrument feature has been absent from most games: lawyers.
Raph Koster - lead designer of Ultima Online and Star War Galaxies and former Creative Director for Sony Online Entertainment - goes into this issue on his web log when he describes the development of SWG.

Short version: the notion that you could be sued for copyright infringement if you allowed customers to play copyrighted music in your game. ABSURD I know. But the lawyers didn't think so.
I asked Raph how the heck Turbine was able to allow players to not only play music in LotRO, but convert musical notation into the music system, and I believe his response was along the lines of, "they must have never asked a lawyer. They just did it."
