    The issue is, I don't know if ZOS are going to lower the cost of crown crates or improve the drop rates;

If I have to spend 200AUD to get that bloody thing, I will

Oh you're are preparing for crown store black jack . Well ... Good luck . You may want to buy even more as I heard the odds are not so much in your favor . One test someone did around 500$ an still no epic mount .

There is no guarantee that 30k of Crowns will be enough, sorry. I would wish you good luck, but I can't. It would be more beneficial to the community if you spent all of that and still didn't get what you want. It would at least be educational.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

IMO you'd be better off just making threads asking for whatever Crate exclusive you want to be available in the store directly. Dropping that kind of money on a chance to get the thing you want will only encourage them to put more of the things you want in the Crates, and do you really want to spend that kind of money?

    Too late lol

The dark deal has been done; we will see if I'm able to get enough gems or actually get the mount

Screenshot, or you are just trolling. Sorry to have to be this way. I just don't believe that someone would drop that sort of cash for a mount in this game.

The crates are not in the store yet, it is not too late. You can save these Crowns for future dlc while asking for the stuff you want to be added through direct purchase. You won't have to buy more Crowns for a while now.

You don't have to be part of the problem.

What was the old price for crowns in the UK (for PC)? The store just shows the price now (£14.39) - doesn't show a discount or anything. There is a sale in the EU as well as NA, right? Also, how long is the sale on

@Solus thread from the pts discussions, tracking multiple people buying multiple crates with the crowns you got on the pts. The op collected and collated multiple results.

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/292572/crown-crate-drop-rate-research-final-results

    Someone opened 52 crates.
    Total Crates: 52
    Crown Gems: 170

    Total Cards: 209
    Bonus Cards: 1 (Purple)
    Duplicate Cards: 34 (all Blue)
    White Cards: 121
    Green Cards: 31
    Blue Cards: 51
    Purple Cards: 4
    Gold Cards: 2
    Apex Cards: 0

    Dubhliam posted:
I don't know if they changed this in the recent patch, but I noticed I always get a blue item in every crate (usually combined with 3 whites).

Let's assume every crate grants you a blue item.

Let's for a second say that 400 Crowns is not much for a random vanity item (debatable, I know, just hear me out).
Let's assume getting a new vanity item for 400 Crowns is not wasted.

    Duplicates grant 5 gems.
This means you would have to open 80 Crates just to get an Apex reward of your choice.
At a price of 400, 80 of them cost 32000 Crowns.
But it actually costs much more since you were forced to buy every other vanity item in the loot table before you start getting duplicates.

The official thread, where there are links for youtube that show what people are getting in the crates.

Well, 81, because you don't get gems on the first time you get an item. Unless it is a removed item and you got it before it was removed, I guess. Then that would be 80, yeah

But yeah, as you said, that is not even the worst case scenario. Worst case scenario, you drop all of the possible non-apex tier collectible before you start getting duplicates, and then only get blue duplicates.

Well, WORST worst case scenario, you only get experience scrolls forever and never a collectible, so you never get gems, but how unlucky someone would have to be? I mean, it is mathematically possible, but I can't even fathom how unlikely that is.

I normally go with the worst case scenario; I've hunted for nirncrux, I know how the rng gremlins like to mock me.

Those posts were from other people more math inclined than myself. For my personal take on the crates, since I don't/didn't buy costumes and special mounts, I'd end up with a lot of the collectibles I never bought and don't want in my account before I'd start getting gems for duplicates. *Then* I could start getting duplicates that get traded for gems. Then I'd have to accumulate enough gems to get the item I actually want. And end up with tons of crown store poisons, food, and potions I didn't want and wouldn't buy.

Unfortunately it seems that instead of taking the viewpoint that the consumables that the pts testers didn't like should be cut back on or removed, ZOS seems to have gotten the idea that the consumables should be buffed to be better. Which is NOT what the pts testers said. Its bad enough that one of the experience scrolls is better than the ambrosia players can make.
