@Nifty2g I will try Burning Spellweave on magplar also.
Ye that Minor Slayer thingy kinda bugs me, but it only affects Jbeam nad Puncturing sweeps I guess? Also if we would get that combo we would have to drop gold jewelry.
Thinking TBS and Mother's sorrow got to be a win for Templar. Had a day's sword farming - no luck. I assume it is equal random chance at any world boss....but if anyone has got one it would be very interesting to know where it dropped.
The bloody spectral defending one I have had 6 times...

@Alcast
I tested Minor Slayer yesterday and it works fine with Puncturing sweeps. From my testings all things with "damage done" (minor slayer, dw-passiv/swords, maybe even minor berserk, full magicka-bonus from radiant) are additive, but multiplikative to damage received (5pc aether (?), puncturing sweeps bonus to nearest target, execute bonus from executes).
So it doesn't effect sweeps directly, but it effects everything you use on your dw-bar bc of its passive.
It also shouldn't effect radiant if you have 0 magicka (bc you get 5% more damage instead of 0%) but it gets dimished when fighting with full magicka (25% instead of 20% = ~4.2% more)Thinking TBS and Mother's sorrow got to be a win for Templar. Had a day's sword farming - no luck. I assume it is equal random chance at any world boss....but if anyone has got one it would be very interesting to know where it dropped.

Would be a good setup, but you are focussing too much on crit/critdmg while not having that much spelldmg. Should be a little bit weaker than TBS/aether. But in the end it's extremely close and hard to test
For the calculations on this post, I am using the ones from my previous post that used the 65% crit chance and damage.
Ilambris - this is just a basic attempt to get a percentage power guage. If Ilambris shows a combined 4k dps on a 20k parse, it has contributed 5% of the total damage. This percent will be variable based on how often Ilambris procs. I will assume 5% is the average cobtribution we would see. Ilambris will also get a 2.659% bonus for its magicka 1 piece.
The full 5 piece Infallible Aether (assuming no one else is applying Minor Vulnerability) would be: 1.794+5+2.933+8+1.794=19.5%
Base: (((40,000/10.5)+2500)*0.3)*(1+(0.65*0.65))=2682.589
Maelstrom Destro staff (189*1.25=236.25): (((40,000/10.5)+2736.25)*0.3)*(1+(0.65*0.65))=2793.4 (4.134%)
This is not including the buff to light and heavy attacks, so the value is really even higher.
Weapon power enchant glyph ((348*1.25)/2=217.5): (((40,000/10.5)+2717.5)*0.3)*(1+(0.65*0.65))=2785.4 (3.832%)
What I've seen so far is that Infallible Aether and Necropotence both look more powerful than any of the other sets. To gain their 5-piece bonuses, they both require a modification of skills and play style (assuming you were not running a pet and doing heavy attacks before).
These are actual stat numbers for the following sets based on UESP builds (Buffs: Expert Summoner (8% health), Major Sorcery (20% spell damage), Major Breach (5280 spell mitigation)):
Set - Health / Magicka / Spell Damage / Spell Crit / Crit Damage / Effective Spell Damage (99.1% mitigation)
TBS(5)/Infal(5) - 21179 / 41812 / 2707 / 65.1 / 78 / 9995
Julianos(5)/Infal(5) - 19608 / 41812 / 3089 / 71.3 / 60 / 9994
Necro(5)/Infal(5) - 19291 / 50294 / 2707 / 65.1 / 60 / 10318 (minor vulnerability not accounted for)
Necro(5)/Infal(4)/Ilambris(2) - 19608 / 51074 / 2707 / 61.9 / 60 / 10279 (monster set not accounted for)
Necro(5)/Infal(3)/Will(3) - 18659 / 51542 / 2615 / 61.9 / 60 / 10215 (no room for monster set)
Necropotence[5] (16%) + Infallible[5] (19.5%) + Maelstrom Destros (4.134%) = 39.634%
Necropotence[5] (16%) + Infallible[4 (including spell power enchant on staff)] (13.559%) + Ilambris (~5%) = 34.559%
Necropotence[5] (16%) + Infallible[3] (6.794%) + Willpower[3 (including spell power enchant on staff)] (10.444%) = 33.238%
To run the same numbers for the last 3 combinations with the other sets:
TBS -6.6% from total
Julainos -5.5% from total
For Ilambris to equal 5 Infallible, it needs to be doing 10% of your total damage. If it does more than that, it is better than 5 Infallible. The ideal scenario would be running Ilambris while someone else applies the Minor Vulnerability debuff.
Here's a link to the UESP build. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildData?id=2450
Note: The new sets are not in UESP, so Molag Kena is being used as a place holder.

5Aether, 5TBS, 2 Grothdarr/Skoria is BiS for Templar
why would that be so? Skoria literally deals half the damage of Grothgarr plus the 1 pieces bonus is useless.
How come 5 Aether? 5 Piece Aether is useless IF a healer is already wearing the set?
All I can say for now is Mothers Sorrow > TBS
Setups I still need to try:
5x TBS, 5x Mother Sorrow, 2x Grotgharr
5x Burning Spellweave (Backbar Destro), 3x Willpower, 5x Mothers Sorrow
@Destruent nice, thanks for the information. So basically Minor slayer is not really a disadvantage at all even for magicka templars I guess.
@DestruentYeah from what I heard from Asayre and such@Nifty2g I will try Burning Spellweave on magplar also.

I wouldn't call it a disadvantage, but it's value gets dimished if you play with DW-mainbar and while beaming. It's nonetheless great if you choose to play with destro-mainbar.
5 Aether is nice, bc you have 2 extra-setboni for your dw-bar instead of just 1 if you use willpower-swords. Even if you don't use full heavy-attacks 5pc aether is stronger than 3pc aether/moondancer + 2 willpower/torugs/whatever.
Is there any maths further proving that mothers sorrow > TBS? i can't find one tbh, would be nice if anyone can show it

So the conclusion you are making is that 126 Spell Damage + 672 Critical Rating on Aether is greater than 1451 Magicka on Willpower?

Good point.
I usually do not do math, i just test it out. And in most times I have higher numbers with Mothers Sorrow. So I run mothers sorrow.
People always try to tell me this sucks and this sucks because numbers say that and this. Just test it out and see how it performs. (this is not meant against you, had a lot of QQing on my youtube channel and from other ppl xD)
I mean, like 2 or 3 patches ago people tried to tell me 5x TBS 4x Julianos is inferior to 5x TBS 2x Kena 2x Torug. Still had more dps than any of those that thought they had a superior combo.

Sure, in the end it's always about testing and comparing setups ingame. But nonetheless, ESO is calculating the numbers, so do we when theorycrafting. In the end it should be more or less the same conclusion. Just curious, if there is something wrong with the maths ^^

Ye
I mean a good setup is important. But there is way more important stuff that people do forget:
Max CP>Rotation>Group Setup>Group Movement>Skills>Gear
Yep...nothing to add there
Btw. did you do any tests with destro-mainbar?

Instead of using Molag Kena as a place holder, use the 2 pieces Magnus. That way you don't change your stats.

I see it listed under PvE. How closely did you read the OP?
@Destruent
actually if people suggest 5x Infallible then its definitely better to go 5x Moondancer because of the 5 piece bonus.
When putting together a good starter's healing set (Templar), which 1T are best? A combination of Spinner's and Stendarr's Embrace?

Sure, i'd even use 5x Moondancer if i'd have 2 swords
But until i have this, i have to use 5x aether
