Anyone else sick of 25$ mounts?

ZOS is sick of them too, thus the crown crates. If you thought 25$ was bad...

I think $25 is acceptable. Anything higher would be rediculous imo. Which is why I didn't buy the dro senche, but now wish I did.
Either way nothing will compare to the future of mounts with crown crates. $100 or more for a new mount...GTFO

I guess you don't pvp, the dro mathra is a giant neon "come kill me" sign.

Who are you to judge what people do with their money?

People with no concept of the value of money are a product of coddling.

Hey, I just turned 64 last week and, pardon me for saying so, this is even too tisk-tisk for an old guy ;)

The way the free to play model works is not, as we'd like to imagine, by having lots of folks buying the occasional, reasonably priced trinket that shows off your dark elf gal's prefect cleavage or a morph for your Khajiit that gives him eerie blue hair and glowing eyes. Nope.

Free to play is built on the whims and fancies of whales. It's a small - often extremely small - percentage of people paying substantial sums regularly that make free to play games (somewhat) free to play.

None of that matters though. What matters is that these things have value to THEM....they like their banker, their merchant, their fire breathing horse and an online game that makes such things possible. Or, as this fellow put it rather more elegantly than I....

But if people wanna spend £25 on a mount, it's absolutely their porogative to do so.

I'm one of those fools, don't wanna miss something.

I imagine OP is speaking of the alliance mounts that were released last week. They are the first not-limited mounts to be priced the same as limited recolor ones (2500 Crowns). Granted, they have that well-designed armor (that doesn't change regardless of riding skill upgrades) and the alliance-locked look gimmick, but they don't have new animations so I don't really agree with the price.
But I am in no place to judge people who decide to buy it, of course. I did pay 2500 Crowns for a mount before (the Clouded Senche) and would gladly do it again for another mount that fits one of my characters.

On a side note, the Dominion one is the only horse of that color in the game, which is a shame because it is the coat color Frost has in Skyrim, which is also my favourite coat color for horses. I would like to see a version of it with white markings and mane and without the armor in the store, it was how I expected the Palomino horse to be when it was announced, before we saw pics.

I really wish ZOS had just stuck with the subscription model.

Every time a company goes cash shop the majority of players lose.

Of course I would expect the whales to viciously defend the legitimacy of their cherished "exclusivity."

Wow!!! Welcome to life people... Stuff you want costs money and that's how life works... Now with that said... Let me tell you I felt really stupid the first time I spent money on an online game, because basically you're buying 1's and 0's and most online game money seems way over priced... Then I realized if I take my family to the movies. We spend $50 or $60 bucks for 2 hours of entertainment... Go out to a restaurant, usually once a week, and we could easily spend $60 to $100 for 2 hours of family time and a good meal. So far any money I have spent on ESO has given me, my wife, my sister and one of my daughters 100's of hours of fun and entertainment. All for $60 a month sub fee's :) Now... That's a bargain in my book.

Yes, it would be awesome to have cool mounts for a cheaper price, but they are in business to make money and being a small business owner my self I understand that concept. You may not agree with it, but that's the way it is.

I'd rather have expensive, optional cosmetics than cosmetics you have to gamble for. If the former is out of your price range then it's no big deal, but the latter is never guaranteed no matter how much you spend on it, even if it would be in your price range otherwise.

I could turn that argument around and say that people who complain so much about the game having a crown store are jealous that they can't/won't buy exclusive items and therefore want everyone to be on an equal level because they can't stand anyone being or appearing to be better than themselves

(not implying that about you, just a general thought)

Yeah I'm sure as a small business owner you understand that mounts cost zos maybe 200-300$ in employee salary, has zero overhead and is entirely profit. It's like charging 25$ for fountain soda.

    Time is money

I'm sure it costs one hell of a lot more than $200-300 worth of salary to create these mounts. Concept art, animation, sound, texturing and testing

What is it that causes so many people with money to be so totally incapable of compassion or understanding from another person's point of view?

Almost every post I see, and every even moderately wealthy person I have ever known seems to only see less fortunate people as "lazy, stupid, degenerate, worthless, whiny, useless bums."

I suppose it gives them a false sense of security, as if the series of unfortunate circumstances that led to these people being in less fortunate financial circumstances could NEVER possibly happen to THEM (where have I heard THAT before), despite 7 in 10 Americans having less than $1000 in savings.

When robot automation replaces YOUR job, I wonder how much compassionate understanding the world will show YOU? Hopefully more than your noble @#% has managed to muster here.

Or maybe it is that to achieve wealth requires an absence of moral conscience?

Whatever the case, it is surely possible to make a point about supporting a company's business model without insulting people who don't, for WHATEVER reason.

I'm trying to figure out the justification of crating a thread complaining about the price of mounts.

You even said they're just cosmetic so there is zero reason to be concerned about their price.

Buy a mount in game and have use of it across all your characters and save $25. problem solved.

Ofc, of you really want that shines new mount in the store you will like pony up the cash and enjoy supporting Zos's endeavors.

Yes, it's better to put $50 into a long-term safer investment than into a video game cash shop.

But if your investments are doing well, I don't see the issue in splurging a little. The mount will last quite a bit longer than a $50 bottle of Jack, and is far less of a life decision than a $50 tattoo.

Oh, maybe it wasn't removed. I thought it was.. but just check the UESPwiki and it doesn't have a removal date. So I could be wrong on that! Also just checked the crown store of this (eso) site. Apparently it's still in store. lol

I'd certainly be more inclined to buy more of the mounts (and other cosmetics) if they weren't so expensive.

I did buy the clouded senche-leopard but that was an exception. Clouded leopards are my favourite big cats and it's rare to see them in a game (even rarer to see them done well) so I really wanted that one. Even then I decided in advance I would not pay more than £12 for it. Fortunately it cost £10.90.

There are others I like, but I don't think they're worth what ZOS is charging. I keep looking at the guar and the wolf mount in particular and thinking I like them, but not quite enough to justify the price.

It's not that I can't afford it, I can. But there's a lot of things I could choose to spend my money on, so it comes down to which one/s I think are worth the price. I could buy a £15 mount, or I could buy 3 £5 books or 1 CD or lunch for me and my husband in a cafe, or 3 £5 cosmetics...

Who are you to judge what people do with their money?

People with no concept of the value of money are a product of coddling.

Lol. Some people over value money, which you seem to be one of those people. You can't take it with you when you die. If it makes you happy, get it.

If someone has extra disposable income and spend it on something they enjoy, that does not make them a fool. He is right you have absolutely no right to judge someone on how they spend their money.

Funny you think you can tell how a person was raised for how much they spend on cosmetic items in a game.

If ZOS didn't sell such cosmetic items at a higher price, then one of two things would happen.

    1) ZOS increases the price of DLC
    2) ZOS sells things in the store that are pay2win

Both of those scenarios would be terrible, and I'd much rather have higher priced cosmetic fluff items than higher costing DLC or pay2win :)

And on a side note I bought the dro mathra senche and never regretted it. As I don't subscribe, I see it as an extra payment to ZOS as a thank you, plus it looks bad ass :D

Uh, me too. My dro mathra mount is the only thing I have to live for anymore. The Hist knows my car isn't as cool as that mount.

How zos justifies selling cosmetic items more expensive than dlc is a mystery. Be nice to be qble to actually buy something without feeling like an idiot for spending that much money on a bauble. 10$ should be the cap for cosmetics. I want that zombie horse about as bad as I wanted the black camel but what holds me back is how I view players that bought the glowing tiger mount: fools who wasted their money.
The hilarious thing is that they're making waaaaay less money than they would if they had more reasonably priced items on the store.

Ten people buying something for $25 vs. a hundred people buying something for $5. And it would be that drastic of a difference at the very least.

This company is just so *** awful at understanding its customers and its own game.
